Princess Amalia (Amalia Frances Renee Elizabeth; born 27 May 1986), more commonly known as Lady Amalia is a member of the British royal family. She is the only daughter of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and is seventh in the line of succession to the British throne.

Amalia was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospitalin Paddington, London, on 27 May 1986 at 2:20 pm as the only daughter and third child of Charles, Prince of Wales, heir apparent to Queen Elizabeth II, and Diana, Princess of Wales. She was baptised with the names Amalia Frances Renee Elizabeth, on 21 August 1986, at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Robert Runcie. Her godparents are Prince Andrew (her paternal uncle); Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones (her paternal cousin once removed); Carolyn Bartholomew (née Pride); Earl Spencer (her maternal uncle); and Celia, Lady Vestey (née Knight).

Diana wanted Amalia and her older brothers, William and Harry, to have a broader range of experiences than previous royal children and took them to venues that ranged from Disney World and McDonald's to AIDS clinics and shelters for the homeless. Diana had requested that Amalia be kept out of the public eye until she was of age to handle the royal life. Amalia's parents divorced in 1996, and her mother died in a car crash in Paris the following year. Harry and William were staying with their father at Balmoral at the time, and the Prince of Wales told his sons about their mother's death.

Amalia wasn't allowed to attend her mother's funeral due to the family feeling as though she wouldn't understand what was going on.

Like her father and brothers, Amalia was educated at independent schools. She started at Jane Mynors' nursery school and the pre-preparatory Wetherby School, both in London. Following this, she attended Ludgrove School, and, after passing the entrance exams, was admitted to Gordonstoun.

After attending Institut Alpin Videmanette (a finishing school in Rougemont, Switzerland) for one term. Amalia returned to London, where she shared her mother's flat with two friends.

Her uncle Earl Spencer would send her on a few auditions over a period of a few months during the summer. From these auditions, she was cast as Bridget for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005).

Amalia's impact on British and American fashion has been called the "The Amalia effect" in the media, and in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016, she was selected as one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World" by Time magazine.

2005-2006: Career beginnings

Amalia's performance in the film earned her a nomination for a Teen Choice Award for "Choice Movie Breakout – Female. In 2006, Amalia co-starred with Justin Longin Accepted, and Amalia had minor roles in the horror film, Simon Says. Music

Amalia Sings Two Songs on the All I See Is You Soundtrack

In 2017, Amalia's newest project, All I See Is You, has shed light on the actress' impressive talents, from portraying a blind woman's struggle with her regained sight onscreen to wearing seven different outfits in a day on the press tour—but it's also given her an opportunity to show off her pipes.

Amalia sings two songs on the film's original soundtrack, which was quietly released at the end of last week. The first is "Double Dutch," a simple tune she sings with a child, backed by guitar strumming.

The second is "In Our Dreams," a simple yet melancholy love song.

Director Marc Forster didn't know whether Amalia could sing or not when she was cast and even considered dubbing her with someone else's voice, Vanity Fair reports. But he ended up using her real vocals.

"Suddenly we were in a studio in LA and she is in front of a mic and she starts singing," Forster said of the recording session, which took place in Babyface's studio. Apparently the R&B icon even approved of Amalia's vocals. "He came in and was suddenly standing there saying, 'She's great! She needs no help,'" the director added.

"Are you ready for your first royal public engagement?" Kate asked.

"Yeah, surprisingly I'm calm." I answered.

The gates to Buckingham Palace were open and the security guards were waiting for us. Both side of the entrance were full of the public, the tourists, trying to catch a glimpse of us. I felt slightly sorry that they were waiting so long only to find out that our windows were tinted. Of course, I was glad that they couldn't see inside.

We were let through the gates and were driven around to the courtyard, out of the public's sight. As the car pulled to a stop, Kate glanced at me.

"Here we go," she whispered. As her door was opened by a man in a suit.

A butler was there to greet us, and he bowed to me before making his way back into the palace, silently telling us to follow him.

We walked in silence through the palace to the gardens. A large stage had been erected, with numerous seats and lights.

There were six seats left vacant in the front row, and I knew that they were for my grandparents, my parents and us. Obeying orders, I sat down beside an empty chair, and Kate sat on my other side, smoothing her dress and placing her clutch bag on her lap. She flicked her hair over her shoulder as she looked at me, smiling as she noticed she had my attention. I grinned back.

Peter and Autumn arrived, and they sat on the other side of the Royal box to us. They waved at us, and we grinned back.

Eugenie and Beatrice arrived, sitting down the row from us. My father and Camilla got there before my grandparents. My father sat down beside me, while Camilla was put beside Eugenie and Beatrice, two empty seats waiting between them. Charles made himself comfortable before leaning forward to smile at Kate.

"Hello, Kate," he said. She returned his smile. "How are you?"

"I'm very well," she said. "And you?"

"Oh, hanging in there," he said, chuckling. "How's my grandchildren?"

"They're wonderful." She said.

"Hello Amalia, How are you?" He said to me.

I smiled. "I'm very well." I said.

"Good, remember we're having tea tomorrow, Lia." He said.

"Yes, father." I said.

Granny arrived with Grandpa, and we all rose as they took their seats. Before we sat down, the national anthem was played and we all sang. The words automatically fell out of my mouth, I stared straight ahead and no facial expression, arms by one's sides.

This is going to be a long night.
