Chapter Twenty Three : Second Time Around

Sarah Ferguson: Why royal baby means Fergie allowed to WED ‘handsome’ Prince Andrew again

SARAH FERGUSON remains close to her ex husband Prince Andrew, but will the pair ever remarry? It has been revealed they are now free to wed again now the royal baby has been born, due to a royal law.

Sarah Ferguson, 58, who is also known as Fergie, remains close to ex husband Prince Andrew, 58, but the royal babybirth means their ‘strange relationship’ may take a turn.

The Duchess of York married Prince Andrew in 1986, but the pair’s marriage did not last – they divorced a decade later. Despite this, the pair have remained close – it is known Sarah and Prince Andrew still live together at the Royal Lodge.

Will they ever marry again? The birth of the royal baby means there is a chance it could happen.

This is because of a royal law dating back to 1772, known as the Royal Marriages Act, which states the first six individuals in the line of succession to the British throne cannot marry without the king or queen’s consent.

Now that the royal baby of Kate Middleton, 36, and Prince William, 35, has been born, Prince Andrew has dropped from sixth place to seventh place in the line of succession.

This means he is able to marry whomever he chooses without the consent of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, 92, whose husband, Prince Philip, 96, has a feud with Sarah Ferguson.

Royal laws aside, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have made no secret of their affection for one another in recent years.

Sarah often posts pictures of Prince Andrew on her Instagram account, including recent pictures of him on stage at a St James’ Palace event.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew has made a statement by hosting Sarah as his guest at royal events which are listed on the prestigious Court Circular.

But it was back in 2013 when Sarah really wore her heart on her sleeve about her affection for Prince Andrew.

He really is still my handsome Prince,” she said of Prince Andrew at Cheltenham Literature Festival in 2013

She spoke of the pair’s shared values: “We really believe in being good parents for our girls.”

Later on, Sarah gushed about the pair’s 1986 audience to the audience: “We had a very beautiful wedding.”

“Mummies and Daddies in the audience might remember it, I think they might have had a day off.”

“It’s lovely that we are such a family and the story has a happy ending all the time.

“In our every day, we respect each other and we honour each other.”

Earlier this month, a palace insider opened up about the Duchess and Duke of York’s relationship.

“Believe it or not, they do live together at the Royal Lodge,” the source told Express.co.uk exclusively.

“She used to stay in a different house, but she sold it and moved in after the Queen Mother died.

“He made her an apartment there to stay there. “It’s a strange relationship, no one really knows, even I don’t quite know how it all works.”

"I can't believe you guys are getting married again." I said as I laid Antonia down in her crib.

"I can't believe it either but he asked me after you know Harry's wedding and we've been planning it but we want to ask for your permission to get married here." Sarah said.

"Sarah, you know I'm not the Queen, right." I said.

"Yet, and yes I know but it just seems right to ask you." Sarah said.

"It's fine. Andrew and you can get married here if you let me plan the wedding." I said.

"Deal." She said.

"Great, and now let's go dress shopping so gather the girls and meet me at the car." I said.

"May I help you?" A kind middle-aged woman asked us.

"We have an appointment at noon." I stated.

"Name?" The lady inquired.

"Sarah York." Rose replied.

"That's right the York wedding. Right this way." She said as we sat down at a desk.

"My name is Marlene. Which of you three is the lucky bride?" She questioned.

"I am, but please call me Sarah." Sarah responded with a small smile.

"Welcome Sarah, and I understand we have three weeks before the big day. So we have our work cut out for us, but I know we'll get everything done. First things first, do you have any styles in mind? Have you seen any dresses you like?" She started taking out a small notebook.

"I haven't really looked at dresses, but I know I want something simple, and not big. We are having the wedding in a church." Sarah replied.

"Do you want a short dress or a long one?" She asked after writing some notes on the notebook.

"Definitely long. I want to feel like a bride." Sarah answered. Sarah couldn't picture herself in a short dress.

"Do you have a preference for colors? White, off-white, ivory?" She continued.

"Not really, I really don't mind either." Sarah replied.

"I have a few gowns in mind. Do you want to begin trying on?" She asked as Sarah nodded and the seven of us followed her into a room that had a dressing area, huge mirrors on a wall, and a leather couch.

"Let me bring the dresses. Make yourself at home." She added kindly disappearing through the door.

"Are you excited?" Eugiene asked practically bouncing in excitement.

"More nervous. What if I don't like the dresses? What if I can't choose?" Sarah said biting my lip nervously.

"Sarah, relax. You don't have make a decision today. You can still take a few days to decide." Rose said. "And you stop making her nervous."

"Sorry." Eugiene replied as the woman returned with a rack full of dresses.

"I picked a variety of dresses, and I'm sure you'll look stunning in all of them." She said.

After a lot of help from Beatrice, Eugiene, and Marlene, Sarah was able to get into the first dress. It was extremely beautiful it was white, with a scoop neck and diamond straps that crossed in the back. I stepped out to look in the mirror and was in awe.

"It's beautiful, Sarah." I said.

"Don't mind me, it's the hormones." Rose said as she got teary eyed.

"You don't think it's too much?" Sarah asked looking at herself.

"You look gorgeous." Kate commented as she fixed the back of her dress.

"I really like it." Sarah added.

"You should try some more dresses. Just to be sure." Marlene explained.

Sarah looked one last time in the mirror before changing into a strapless silk white gown with a teal sash on the waist accented with circular diamonds. Sarah didn't know which dress was more beautiful. The first one or this one. They both were so pretty, and Sarah had no idea how she was going to decide.

"The teal matches the color scheme." I said.

"Do you like the colored sash?" Rose inquired as Marlene fixed the small train.

"I do. It gives it flair, but I also like plain white dresses. They are more traditional." Sarah responded unsure of what Sarah really wanted.

Gabrielle and Kristen laughed. "Sarah, these are decisions you have to make."

"I know, but I it is such a big decision. I don't want to disappoint Andrew." Sarah admitted. Sarah was terrified of not looking good enough for him.

"Mom, you can walk down the aisle in an over sized shirt and sweat pants and he will think you look beautiful." Beatrice said rolling her eyes.

"Why don't you try something else?" Meghan suggested as I left to try on the third dress.

"How much are these dresses?" Sarah questioned noticing there were no price tags on them.

"The one you're wearing is 5,550." She stated as Sarah's mouth dropped.

"And the others?" She inquired knowing the answer.

"They're all over 5,000." She replied.

"I'm sorry, Marlene. These dresses are gorgeous, but I really can't afford them." Sarah said walking towards the dressing room to change. They made me look like a princess, but they were too expensive.

"Don't even bother, I'm paying for the dress." I said.

"Oh my God really, thank you, Amalia." Sarah said.

"You're welcome now go try on another dress." I said smiling.

The next dress Sarah tried on was halter top that formed a cross in the back, it also had a small train that extended from the back. It was very simple and elegant. "I really like this one too." Sarah said with a laugh.

"You do know you only get to wear one." Rose added as we all laughed.

"I know." Sarah responded.

Shr tried on a couple of more dresses that I really didn't like. They were either to big, too revealing, or not her style. "I can't decide between the first three." Sarah said plopping down on the sofa as soon as Sarah had changed back into her clothes.

"You can always sleep on it. Most brides don't decide right away." Marlene assured me. "They're all beautiful, and I know you will take his breath away."

"Thank you, Marlene. I'll come by tomorrow with my decision. Can you hold them for me?" Sarah asked not wanting to risk loosing any of the dresses.

"Absolutely, Sarah." She said as we all walked back into the main store area.
