Chapter Fifteen : Royal in Laws

Crown Princess Amalia and Princess Rose of Herraden fly solo on international power engagements

Loved in their home of Herraden, princesses Amalia and Rose are once again making their mark overseas.

Hot on the heels of her Brazil trip, Amalia left husband Crown Prince Miguelat home to travel to Russia, with her sister-in-law, Rose.

Both ladies balanced elegance with diplomatic dynamism as they went about the business of representing Denmark in their own unique way.

On Monday, Amalia flew into Russia's cultural heart Saint Petersburg for a brief visit. There, the future queen officially opened an exhibition at the Hermitage Museum.

Afterwards, she mingled with Herradenish companies and their Russian clients at a lavish gala held in the Grand Europa Hotel.

The next day Amalia and Rose toured Russian soil in their role as patron of HerChurchAid.

The charity was founded in the Eighties to help refugees from the civil war and support their battle against poverty, hunger and drought.

Rose has been patron of the organisation since 2011 and Amalia has been patron since 2014 travelled to Russia to visit their projects including a crisis centre for women and a refuge for homeless children.

HerChurchAid's Secretary General, Henrik Stubkjaer said: "I am pleased to accompany the Princesses on this visit.

"I know they are looking forward to visiting our projects. Their commitment to HerChurchAid is focused on helping those most needy in this world,"

"Oh, Kristen, you've doing great. See I told you our training sessions would do you great." I said as I gave my niece a hug.

"Thank you, auntie Lia." Kristen said.

"Hi, Lia." April said.

"Hi, April, how are you?" I asked giving her a hug.

"Hi, auntie Rose." Kristen said hugging Rose.

"I'm great still can't believe you two are pregnant at the same time." April said.

"I know right." I said.

"Well we didn't plan it." Rose said.

"Can we grab lunch before we go to the children's forum?" Kristen asked.

"Yes, I'm starving." I added.

"When aren't you straving?" Rose asked.

"True." I said laughing..

The driver drove them to a small restaurant that was located along a quaint street a few corners from Russian Presidential Palace.

As Amalia pushed the door open she scanned the small restaurant, her eyes drifting past the suited business men and fancy dressed women.

She walked in with the girls and they walked to the back of the restaurant to avoid the public eye.

"I hope they have hot wings." Kristen said.

Amalia chuckled at her words as the waitress came over to take their order, the young girl was slightly wide eyed at the fact that Crown Princess Amalia was casually placing an order in front of her. Something that made Kristen giggle.

“Do you realize the affect that you have on people?” Kristen asked before she could stop herself. “I mean like, how aware are you of the complete awe on people’s faces when they realize that it’s you,”

“You learn to ignore it,” Amalia shrugged. “But it does get annoying sometimes,”

After their lunch had arrived they lapsed into an easy flow of conversation.
