Chapter 19

What is wrong with me? My head is telling me one thing, my heart the other. I already miss Jamie. Don't get me wrong, Ollie is amazing, but I would love to be Jamie's friend and support him. I twiddled my thumbs nervously whilst I waited for Jamie to get to school. I have lost a friend, and need him back.
"Rosie, are you okay?" Ollie enquired.
"Yeah...there's just something I need to do," I declared. At that exact moment Jamie walked in and sat down on the other side of the classroom. I instantly got up and took a seat next to him.
"Oh...hello Rosie," he smiled anxiously, taking out his earphone.
"Jamie...the thing is that I really miss you. And I was so horrible the other day when you told me about...you know...where as I should have been supportive. All I'm asking is that we can maybe be friends again?"
"Of course Rosie. And I'm so sorry. I don't think I actually-"
"Hey, don't apologise. You did nothing wrong."
"But what I'm trying to say is that I just got caught up in the moment and think...no, I know that I still-"
"ROSIE!" Amy grinned, running over to give me a hug. I grinned and hugged her back.
"Ah, you guys are friends again now?" She squealed.
"Yep," I smiled.
"Right. So now you need to give me all the information on Ollie," she whispered, but still loud enough for Jamie to hear, as she practically dragged me away.
"I'll catch you later Jamie!" I yelled over my shoulder. He half heartedly smiled and put his headphone back in his ear.
"So any news?" She asked seriously.
"Well...I went to his house last night and he played a song that he wrote for me and then we kissed," I replied simply.
"YOU KISSED?" She shouted.
"Shut up!" I snapped.
"Whoa, it's clearly someone's wrong time of the month. So anyway, do you love him?"
"I wouldn't go that far."
"Ah, but you told me that you said to Jamie that you loved him when you were dating."
"This is different. I mean yeah, I really like him. But we've only known each other for barely a week, and I don't know if he is the one I want to be with. Plus he probably doesn't like me back." That sounded so confusing.
"COME ON!" She exclaimed, rolling her eyes. She then stormed over to Ollie and pushed him towards me.
"Amy...what are you doing?" I warned her.
"Ollie, do you have a crush on Rosie?"
"I...I don't know," he blushed.
"ANSWER THE QUESTION!"
I am surprised Amy isn't drawing attention to us.
"Then, yeah. I have."
"Okay. Rosie, do you have a crush on Ollie?"
"I don't know Amy!"
"Seriously, he just admitted he likes you. Now admit you like him back."
"AMY I DON'T KNOW!" I yelled, running out of the classroom. I heard footsteps behind me but ignored them and ran into the courtyard. I looked back and the footsteps hadn't come from Amy. Or Ollie. It was Jamie.
"Rosie! Wait!" He shouted, catching up with me. I really should have tried harder in P.E.
"What?" I asked, turning around. Now I was beginning to cry. I guess it's just a mix of hormones and stress.
"Hey, don't cry," he whispered, taking me over to a bench. I sat down and he sat next to me.
"So what's happened?" He asked softly.
"It's hard to explain. I'm just so confused at the moment."
"Me too. So what are you confused about?"
"Who I like. Who I don't like. Things similar to that really. What about you?"
"Basically the same," he sighed, before adding "I don't even know if I'm gay or not."
"Well what made you think you might be in the first place?" I asked, trying to help him work it out.
"I don't know. I just preferred to be around boys than girls."
"Maybe you just got sick of me. I was pretty clingy," I smiled.
"No, not at all!" He laughed. Once again, the bell rang, causing us to go back inside. Mrs Bell still wasn't there yet, however there were only two seats left in the form room, and they were on opposite ends of the room.
"Thanks for the chat. It really helped," Jamie smiled. I smiled back and sat next to Amy, who had saved the last seat for me.

Ollie and I were walking home from school, chatting and laughing like usual. All do a sudden he turned to be in a serious manner. "Rosie...I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me. Okay that sounded cheesy, but-"
"Ollie, are you asking me out?" I smiled.
"Yes," he blushed, looking at the ground.
What should I say? Do I like him in that way? I guess I would never know until I tried it. "I would love to."
"Great. So we could go to the cinema or something? To see that new Avengers film maybe?"
"That sounds amazing! So, is Saturday a good day for you?"
"Yeah, sounds perfect."
We waved goodbye to each other, and I walked up the path to my house. Opening the door, I heard screams coming from inside.

"Whoa, what's happening?" I laughed as Freddie ran into the hall, shortly followed by Ollie's brother Thomas. It would appear they were playing some sort of 'tag' game. Sighing, I hung my school bag up and went into the kitchen to find a snack. I grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl and went straight upstairs to get on with homework. I was in a great mood- I had redeemed a friendship and possibly taken one further. However listening to 'Act my Age' by One Direction put me in an even better mood. It's just such a happy song. I logged onto my instagram fan account and liked a few photos, and then posted an edit I made last night. Mum poked her head around my room door at that exact moment.

'Uh, Rosie, stop procrastinating and get on with homework," mum tutted, closing the door again. I rolled my eyes and got out my maths books. Once I was completely finished with all homework I decided to facetime someone, because I needed to get my feelings off my chest. I tried Amy, but she didn't pick up. I then tried Ollie, who also didn't pick up. Finally I tried Jamie, who did answer.

"Hey! What's up?" he smiled.

"Hello! I just wanted to talk to someone. Are you busy?"

"Nope, I'm free to talk."

"Okay, great. I just need to share something. You know, maybe then it might feel better?"

"Sure, go ahead."

"Okay...so my friend is having some trouble and needs advice, but I don't know what to say," I lied.

"Go on."

"So she was asked out by this boy she really likes, but she thinks that she might like someone else as well. What should I do-ugh, tell her?"

"Rosie, I'm not stupid. I know you are talking about yourself," he chuckled.

"No, I'm not!" I protested.

"Rosie..."

"Okay, okay. But don't ask me to give any names, because I won't. So I don't know what to do."

"Well, do whatever your heart tells you."

"That is the crappiest piece of advice I've ever been given," I laughed.

"Fine. How much do you like each person?" he sighed, almost like he didn't want to ask the question.

"So the one who asked me out...a lot. Like, I really am interested in him. The other one...a lot as well. UGH I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!" I yelled, getting frustrated with myself now.

"Look, I can't really help you decide who you like the most. But you could choose by finding out if they like you that much too."

"Hey, that's a good idea. But how do I do that without it being obvious?"

"Get Amy to ask them or something."

"Ah, good idea. Although last time she was involved with me and Ollie-oh shit. Ignore that."

"So now I know one of them, will you tell me who the other is?"

"I can't, sorry." I replied. No way was I telling Jamie that it was him.
