7: Insults

----

"Breaking News! Today at around 4 am in the morning, the residents suspected some unease in their area, Han Street, Lane 7. The people claim that they heard a bit of quarrelling which was not of one person, but of more than two people. The situation got worse when they heard a gunshot which echoed in the nearby lanes too. The condition got more shocking when a pouch of cocaine was found at the end of Lane 6. The State Government is trying to take a legal action and all the citizens of Han street will be investigated properly. Breaking news delievered by Lin Shang-"

Buzz! And father shut off the television.

"Strange happenings in the early morning? Gunshot and then packet of cocaine? I wonder what's going to happen next," father said rubbing his chin.

This news was playing over all news channels of Seoul and was trending on 1 on the news charts of the city in just few hours. I was bit a surprised when I saw my own father debating over this news with my mother.

"Eunhae! For heaven's sake hurry up bring me my coat. I need to leave early for some matter!" father said in a fury.

"Coming master!" I shouted and ironed it as quickly I could, careful not to leave a single crease or else my own father will be the death of me.

I scurried through the hall and handed him the coat. He gazed me scornfully and took the coat out of my hands in a swish.

"As soon as you return from your campus, I want you to clean the hall, and the bedrooms, and the yard too. Leaves need to be racked from there. Food must be cooked at any cost....." And the list went on for five deadly minutes.

I kept on glancing at the clock, afraid of getting late again and become a prey for the morning torturer Park Jimin or either get in a horrible detention with Kim Namjoon at the closing time. What's worse? By Jeon Jungkook himself waiting for me at the campus's entrance.

Finally, I exited the house, locking it safely and heading towards the campus.

Autumn had arrived and the ground was full of orange, crunchy leaves. The days fall by as fast as the leaves from the trees. The sun rose and set as if on fast-forward, as if there was some divine hurry to reach the winter. The sky, gold as usual, telling that no matter how hard and miserable the days are will end someday.

The entrance of the campus was rushy with students chattering here and there. I walked towards the locker area and surprisingly it was cheerful too. Although no one engaged in a conversation with me, just gave me quick glares as I passed them.

I unlocked my locker with a 'click' and put my backpack inside it before taking out the relevant lecture's books.

You might be wondering where I got all these items from when I am supposed to be having not a single piece of pen.

So, yesterday evening, I was called by our neighbour to babysit her daughter as she was urgently wanted at her clinic. Her husband passed away a few months before and since then she is a single mother, raising her daughter. However, I was not expecting her to give me anything in return for taking care of her angel-like-daughter. But being the kind woman she is, handed me some amount of money which was enough for the things I desperately needed for the campus's semester.

I shut the metal door and sauntered towards the lecture hall, alongside clutching my books.

The hall was huge and wooden seats were arranged till the very last. A wide podium was set up for the lecturer and a projecting screen was rolled down for the slide sharing.

I marched towards the very end of the hall and occupied the last seat and watched the hall getting filled by the students. Soon, a middle heighted man entered the room which I assume was the new lecturer.

He scanned the huge room with his tiny beetle like eyes and once he had taken a look of everyone, he let out a hum whilst nodding his head.

"Hello? Can you all hear me? The backbenchers?" he stood on his tiptoes, waving at the audience at the back.

"Great! So, I am Professor BayHyuk and I am your today's economics lecturer. Without wasting another minute I request you all to turn to page 334 of your book, meanwhile I try to work this projector out," he said and there was an immediate flipping and thudding of books and pages on the desks.

Once again the new professor clapped his hands to grab our attention and began to speak, "So young lads and ladies, starting with the very basic question before coming to the real topic. 'What is economics?' Economics is the social science that studies how people interact with value; in particular, the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services." And so on he went explaining and showing the slides.

"Now coming towards macroeconomics-" he was cut off by a loud bang and we all turned our heads towards the source. My palms began sweating after seeing the person who caused the distraction by his sudden arrival.

"Where are your manners boy!?" the professor said loudly as he was mad that his lecture was interrupted.

"What's with the attitude you doddering man?" Jungkook spoke. "First if all you are late! Then you have audacity to interrupt my lecture and last but not the least, disrespecting me!?"

Jungkook walked towards the professor with a sly smirk playing on his face. A few front benchers dragged their chair backwards in fear and I buried my face in my arms by leaning on the desk.

"Don't you know to whom you are talking to?" Jungkook asked. "Let me attend the class or otherwise I won't hesitate to shoot a bullet through your skull. Too bad your educated, genius brain would be wasted."

I lifted my head up a little and peeked sneakily to see what was happening. "By what will you shoot me boy? You aren't even allowed to bring a- " and Jungkook pointed a shiny, black, metal gun on professor's forehead. "A gun?" he asked seeming surprised and the students gasped.

"I wouldn't take me long to pierce this bullet through you. But if you allow me to take this lecture, I won't waste my precious bullet on you," Jungkook offered and the poor man was scared to death.

"F..fine h..have a seat," Professor BayHyuk stammered and Jungkook rolled his gun on his finger before putting it back into its respective place, his pocket, and made his way to the end of the hall.

My heart beat quickened in apprehension and I swiftly hid my face behind the open book that was placed on the table, hoping it would save me from the monster.

Fortunately he didn't come towards me nor noticed me and sat a few seats infront, his back clearly facing me.

I heaved a sigh and lowered down my book to catch a glimpse of the slides that were being shown on the projecting screen.

Sooner with luck, the lecture ended and I sprinted off at top speed out of the hall, not caring how many people I had bumped on my way. I definitely couldn't stay in the same room with Jeon Jungkook anymore. God knows what he would do to me alongside his six goons.

Reaching the cafeteria, I breathed heavily to catch my breath. I looked around and saw a few students already sitting on the benches munching away their snacks and buns.

I stood in the line patiently for my number to get my lunch. Unfortunately, Min Yoongi and Jung Hoseok, another gang members of Jungkook barged into the cafeteria. They pushed away a few junior boys from the line and stood in their place.

"B..but its was m..my place," a boy who was pale with fear, dared to speak up. "You really got some pluck to disobey us? Don't overstep a slightest bit of your limits kid," Yoongi threatened him and the boy and he ran away for his life.

"Smelly, emotional gits," Hoseok said and tsk-ed and then dived for another conversation with Yoongi.

"What would you like to have?" the lady asked in her usual monotone voice. "Anything will be fine. I feel ravenous!" I said and my stomach grumbled in hunger.

The lady then handed me a medium sized tray with some seasoned kimichi, rice, sausage and a tangerine. "How much money?" I asked before taking out my wallet with a few Wons and handed some money to her.

I picked up my tray and walked towards an empty table. I couldn't wait to dig in the delicious food. The excitement of feeling the taste on my taste buds and calming my hunger, I totally forgot about Yoongi and Hoseok.

I soon as I peeled the tangerine, someone snatched it from my hand, leaving me dumbfounded. I was about to snap at whoever did that, but I sealed my lips after knowing who it was.

Hoseok and Yoongi.

"Here you go Suga, your favourite tangerine," Hoseok said and tossed him the fruit and Yoongi caught it effortlessly. I started at them like a statue. "What's with you Eunhae? Never seen a human before?" Yoongi asked, sucking on a piece of tangerine.

I would eat poison rather than considering these Satans as humans and if I do, it will be my biggest mistake.

I didn't respond them and took a bite of the sausage and then putting a spoonful of rice in my mouth. The taste melted on the tongue and I closed my eyes in satisfaction. Just perfect!

"Do you think our precious Eunhae is acting bold?" Hoseok asked and I put my spoon down, gulping some water from the bottle.

And the next thing I knew the whole bottle of water being splashed on me. My eyes widened and I let out a shaky breath. My boldness turned against me unluckily.

I was drenched from head to toe. I noticed a few boys looking at me including Yoongi and Hoseok with their sinful, perverted eyes. And then I realised that my uniform shirt had become see through because of water.

I immediately picked up the tray and covered myself and the cafeteria bursted in a fit of laughter. I was just humiliated in front of everyone. I ran outside and into the girls restroom, not having any courage to to be there any more, especially when my shirt was showing a large area of my skin.

I stepped inside a cubicle and locked the door to give myself privacy. I was still trying to figure out how to dry myself off otherwise I'd get a bad fever and mother won't be pleased at all plus she won't show a bit of mercy.

Not a single day can pass without these seven demons allowing me to stay in peace. My parents have already sworn to make my life a disaster and Bangtan was not missing a chance either.

After vigorously flapping the uniform shirt up and down for fifteen good minutes, it finally dried up and sighed in relief.

"You deserve it!"

The voice inside me spoke and I grabbed my head. No! I can't let this tormenting voice take over me right now.

"Girls like you are a disgrace to their family! Jeon Jungkook has every right upon you!"

I gritted my teeth and lightly banged my head on the cubicle door to stop it. "For God's sake leave me right now," I begged, still banging my head.

The voice faded away as quickly as it came and I released my clenched fists. I hated when these dangerous voices took over me in the situations where there is nobody to help, leaving me alone to suffer.

I quietly got out of the restroom and marched towards the locker hall. As I passed through the hall, people began to humiliate me, point me and crack jokes.

"Yah Kim! I thought you were a fatass, but you turned out just like a thin stick. Skinny!" A girl body shamed me and I began to walk faster, a pink tint appearing on my cheeks in embarrassment.

I reached my locker to take out the books but my body went limp when I saw a rough note on the door.

'Closing time at the senior ground. Don't be late or try to run. J.K won't leave you.
Yours ever
K.TH'

I crumbled the note and stuffed it in my pocket. Yours ever? That two faced devil looks sweet on the outside and a disaster on the inside. Only if I had the courage to chop his neck of alongside the six of them.

The time passed and it inched towards the closing time. I was barely focusing on what the teacher was teaching as I was too concerned what was going to happen with me in a few minutes.

My nails repeatedly clicking on the wooden desk out of nervousness. "Ms.Kim can you stop doing that? Its really irritating and disturbing the lecture," the lecturer spoke and I mumbled a quick sorry before actually paying attention to what she was explaining.

Unfortunately, the bell rang and I groaned. Majority of the students had already dashed out of the class and five minutes, only the lecturer and I were left.

"Aren't you going Ms.Kim?" she asked. "I'm...uh...packing my things. Just leaving," I said and walked off to the back of senior ground.

I knew I should be running out of here to save my life, but if I did so, Jungkook won't spare my life the day after and what could be worse?

As soon as I set the foot in the ground I heard voices of men laughing from the next shed. "Must be Bangtan," I thought and timidly walked towards them.

"Do think she will come Jeon?" Taehyung opined. "I guess she ran away. Why can't you let me ruin her Jungkook?" Jimin spoke and Jungkook hushed him.

"Now Jimin hyung, don't go too far. Only I am supposed to be doing that. I swear if she tries to run I will make her regret it," Jungkook said and goosebumps formed on my arms.

I stepped in front of them and they all looked at me with scornful eyes.

"Well well, look who is here! My favourite sweetheart," Jungkook spoke and the rest of them snickered. I took a moment to look at him and saw some bruises on his face. "What do you want?" I mumbled and Jungkook's gaze darkened.

"Do you think you have the permission to speak like this?" he asked. "N..no, s..sorry," I stuttered. "Well I do have a work for you," he said and raised his eyebrow. "What..?" I asked.

"Pleasure me."

My eyes went wide and palms became sweaty. Did I hear him well...? And then, they all began to cackle loudly.

"Nice one Jeon!" Namjoon said and gave a pat on his back. Yoongi and Jimin were still laughing whilst taking the support of the wall. Meanwhile Hoseok and Taehyung were examining my shocked face with a sly smirk on their lips.

"Oo my precious! You are so innocent that I feel if I ruin you one day...what will you do?" Jungkook tittered and I hung my head low.

Who would tell him that I'd been ruined already two years ago by my cousin on my own father's orders.

"I want you to complete my assignments and I want them by tomorrow at any cost. Understand!" he said and I nodded my head in approval.

"Words!" Jungkook bellowed and I flinched. "Words my dear Eunhae." "Yes Jungkook," I said and he handed me a whole pile of assignments in my arms.

I stuffed them into my backpack and was about to turn back when Jungkook held me from my bag, making me hault.

"What's with the hurry? Let me say my goodbye properly." And he quickly connected his peccable mouth on the side of my neck, sucking the flesh violently. I hissed loudly and he de-attached his mouth, proudly looking at the mark he caused.

"Goodbye Eunhae!"

----

I swinged the backpack over my bag and hurried out of the campus. The breeze became more cooler as I walked out of the gate, rubbing my arms for some impact of warmth.

Taking the second turn in the street, I walked towards my lane. Soon I heard a palsy walsy bark and Zoro came sprinting madly towards me. "Heyy buddy!" I greeted him and he licked my face repeatedly, tackling me to the ground.

"Ok ok! You've gone insane calm down!" I said and Zoro began to circle around me joyfully. "After seeing you so energetic and lively, I forgot all about the awful things that happened with me. You are such a gem Zoro," I praised him and he affectionately booped his nose with mine.

I chuckled and ruffled his golden fur. Zoro is indeed a blessing to me. A best friend and furball of love, always bringing a smile on my face.

"Right now, I need to reach home as soon as possible. I have some chores to complete. Oh how I wish I could stay with you a bit longer my pup. See you tomorrow," I said and he gave me one last lick on the nose and trotted away.

I opened the main gate and walked around the yard and into my quarter. I put the bag aside and plopped myself on the mattress and stretched my arms in tiredness.

After getting fresh, I went inside the house to get a rake for the cleaning of the yard when I heard two women talking. Did mother invited someone over? I tiptoed to the dining room and tired to listen to their conversation.

"Eunhae is grown up now and I think its time," Mother spoke. "But isn't it too early for her Mira? Is she capable enough?" the lady asked. "That doesn't matter. Besides she is excellent in house chores and will serve your son perfectly. Moreover I'm sure she will hold the heir of your family. What else do you want?"

What are they talking about? Curiousty took over me and I stepped inside the room. Mother and the lady stopped talking and looked at me.

"What are you talking about? Capable? Serving her son? Holding the heir?" I questioned with the suspense rising.

"First of all how dare you come in without permission? And secondly, if you are too concerned what we are talking about so listen it carefully," mother said and the next sentence left me bewildered.

"We are getting you arranged in a marriage."
