13: Prodigy of Serendipity
----
The floor itself was the witness how the excruciating the night was. Each whiplash carved a mark on her body, whereas thousands of abiding scars were embedded inside her soul. Her voiceless yet screaming soul was desperate for leniency and a miracle that could had happened to rescue her from the wrath of the devil, who satisfied himself by seeing the poor girl drench in his torment.
Dressed up in the now-torn off white dress that was smudged from scarlet blood, she laid there vulnerably as her brown locks swept across her face with every swoosh of the cold wind. Her cheeks that were supposed to be rosy and her lips that were ready to hold a smile after long time now were bewitched to be despondent for the rest of her life.

-Eunhae's P.O.V-
With some effort I opened my tired eyes and glanced at my surroundings, ensure where I was at the moment. Adjusting my sight in the dimly lit room, I tried to stand up, but eventually lost my balance and my weak body met the cold stone floor. The worse thing happened soon after when one of the wounds got pressed badly and I let out a painful yelp.
Realizing that it was absolutely useless to get up and put my self in the unbearable pain, I laid back in my previous position, not wanting to hurt my wounded body. Unknowingly, tears flowed out of my swollen eyes and I hurriedly wiped them as I had no energy left of it either. Last night event began to play in my mind as if a projector were being played at the moment. No matter how hard I tried to shrug that off, the irreversible memory now had fixed its place in my mind.
"You? And thinking to be happy again? What a joke! Remember, as long as you belong to him, your life wouldn't bloom any flowers of happiness," the torturous voice spoke. "But I want to be happy...I want to live my life without any misery, without any pain..." I mumbled and buried my head in my folded arms. "Even if you try to run away, he would get you. You think you can escape him? He is the one who rules the entire mafia world, as long as I know, Jeon Jungkook will be the reason of your painful death and will make your death as an admonition for everyone!"
"It's better if he kills me now, this world has already been too unfair with me..."
Just then, I heard some footsteps coming towards this direction. Adrenaline rushed inside me and I attempted to calm down my racing heart. There was one phrase that kept on repeating my mind. "Please don't be Jungkook" However, the person, whoever it was. was tapping his feet on the floor which I assumed that he might be waiting for something or someone.
Soon another sound of hurried footsteps could be heard. In a moment the door was unlocked with a click and there stood two people, one of them whom I recognize perfectly. "Good morning our beloved Eunhae, had a blissful night hm?" Jimin spoke with a smirk playing on his lips.
Seeing that I didn't respond him, he walked forward and sat dangerously close in front of me with his legs crossed. "I didn't get my reply baby," he said. I watched him as he took out his black baton and began to trail it from my forearms towards my collar bone, until when he pressed a wound near my shoulders.
"Ssss Ahhh!" I hissed in pain and he made a surprise expression. "Did it hurt? Oh my! Deep apologies Eunhae," he placed his hand on his chest, right above the heart as if he did felt pity. But the next moment, he slashed his baton right across my face, creating a new prominent mark. "I hope it hurt better than before! See, I've already told you that I love giving you marks and baby you should be proud of it," he grinned.
"Go away! Don't come near me you monster! Y-You all are m-monsters!" I shrieked and tried to scoot back. But Jimin gripped my wrist tightly. "L-Leave me Park J-Jimin!" I sobbed weakly. "WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHTS TO CALL ME BY MY FULL NAME!?" he shouted and grabbed my cheeks so that I could face him. "Next time, if I hear you calling me PARK Jimin, I swear you wouldn't be able to talk again! Its Master Jimin for you!"
"You can play this drama later PARK Jimin, Jungkook is currently asking for Eunhae." Another member of the gang spoke.
That person I had barely seen, but then I remembered the encounter with him when he caught me running at the wedding. He looked tall and sturdy with a serious expression on his face. He was dressed up in a formal way, unlike Jimin. With russet coloured hair swept across his forehead he made his way inside the room and leaned back on the wall.
"Come on Seokjin Hyung! You all never let me have any fun," Jimin said with annoyance visible on his face. "You and your uncontrol-able desires. And you! Get up!" Seokjin said while pointing at me with a demanding tone and I obeyed him. By maintaining some balance, I stood up with a burning body. He came forwards and tied my wrists with a rough rope followed by a black cloth to cover my vision.
With shaky steps I followed them where they took me to. The place was extremely big and I wondered from how many passageways they led me through. "There are stairs ahead, Jimin hold her," Seokjin instructed. "Your command is my duty Hyung," he said and I was immediately swept off the ground by Jimin and landed over his rock hard shoulders.
"Put me down!" I yelled and hit him repeatedly on his back with my tied up wrists, but he didn't budge. "Stop making a fuss Eunhae!" I heard Seokjin say and gave up struggling, knowing it wouldn't change their minds. The closer we got towards the big opening, the more voices could be heard. I felt Jimin carelessly putting my own the ground.
"Eunhae is here," Seokjin announced. "What took you both so long?" Jungkook spoke in a deep voice and chills ran down my spine followed by immediate goosebumps. Though I couldn't see him, but I felt him stand up and his boots clicked as he walked. My heart rate increased as I stumbled on my steps, his effect already engulfing me in a cover of fear.
I sensed him extremely close to me as his breath fanned across my earlobe and then I felt a sharp pointy thing on my temples. I tensed up at the feeling as my breathing rate slowed down until shaky breaths left my mouth. In a matter of second, Jungkook cut the cloth over my eyes from behind with the dagger in his hand.
I looked at him and in his eyes I could see the twinkling of the everlasting hatred and evil. The way Jungkook's brown orbs burned in the fire of dominancy and the extreme effect they had on me made me take a further step back. "Dare take one more step back and I'll chop those legs off!" he commanded and my feet got rooted on the spot.
He turned me around and moved his fingers along each scar that he engraved last night. "Let's say I'm satisfied with what I did," he said "Look at me!" I lifted my scared gaze to face him. "From this day onwards, apart from being my forced partner, you will be the one doing all chores. I want this place to be maintained and a speck of dust or a tiny mistake, you would be facing severe consequences. And one more thing...it will be your duty to serve and work as a personal maid for my fiancé," he ordered, but my mind could only comprehend the last word.
My fiancé
"If you already have a fiancé, then why are you even keeping me with you?" I said after gathering some courage. "You see, I possess you whether you admit it or not and when I, Jeon Jungkook possesses something, I keep it with me. So, its up to me how I treat my possessions," he replied nonchalantly and I fixated my gaze on the floor "Now I don't want you to ask this stupid question again, understand!?" his voice boomed around the hall.
There was a minute of silence when loud screeches of man were heard from the very end of the hall. The voice got louder and louder until the horrifying scene was finally displayed in front us. Two men with ropes tied around their throat were being dragged by two people, Taehyung and Hoseok. I watched the men shake in pain, trying to escape but luck wasn't with them.
"Here they are Jungkook," Hoseok said and handed the end of the rope to him, so did Taehyung. "Good job Jhope, good job V. You both may have rest for a while and then get to work with Suga. I need the backup plan for Mission IX by evening," Jungkook said and turned to look at the shivering men who were already begging for forgiveness.
"I finally caught you, see! How long will you run?" Jungkook smirked as he took out his favourite pistol from his pocket and began to twirl it on his slender fingers. " The cocaine shipment was meant to be known by only me and you. I stated it clearly that the government shouldn't get aware of this, but you both were so eager to create a drama. The news channels were spreading his news like a lightening bolt. I had to shut their mouths off with bundle of Dollars just to avoid any further mess that you made. So tell me, had fun disobeying the rules hm?"
"P-Please forgive me sir...! I-I never dared to go against you, but t-this John deceived me in doing this..." the first man begged. "And you were so blind that you followed him? Wow! Is he your boss or I am!?" Jungkook questioned with anger boiling in his eyes. "Please...forgive us this time..." the second man cried.
He ignored their question and pointed his pistol on one of their heads. "Seokjin pass me your gun please," Jungkook requested Seokjin and the older man placed his gun on the younger one's hands. He then pointed each gun on both men. "Any last desires?" he asked. "I-I have a wife and children...leave me please. I ask for you mercy Boss JK. Y-You girl...tell him to leave me for the sake of my family," one of them said while looking at me.
I was dumbstruck. I did felt pity for them and really wished to help them, but how? I glanced at the men and then at Jungkook. "Come here Eunhae!" he said and my feet automatically led me to him. I watched as he went behind me and untied my hands and the spoke," Now be a good girl and do as I say." And then a gun was handed to me.
"Shoot them."
"Wha-What?" I stammered and dropped the gun on the floor. Jungkook motioned Seokjin to pick up the gun and the bloody weapon was handed to me again. "I said SHOOT.THEM!" Jungkook commanded in anger and I flinched. Seeing that I wouldn't listen to him he stepped forward in frustration, took a hold of my hand in which I was holding the gun and pressed my finger on the trigger, directly firing a bullet through one of their heads.
I yelped due to the blasting sound and backed away due to fear. I-I just k-killed a person!
"I am a m-murderer! I-I am a sinner!" I cried and began to scratch my hands with longs nails as the scene was unforgettable and way too traumatizing. I scratched and scratched until my hands got scarlet in colour. "Stop crying and finish the task I have assigned you right now," Jungkook said and I shook my head a multiple times as a no.
"If you won't do it, then I will make you do it," Jungkook spoke and dragged me towards the area where that remaining one man was tied up. I struggled and tried to free my wrist from his grip, but it only caused more pain. Jungkook sat down the chair and forced me sit on his lap. "L-Leave me! I don't want to become a monster like you. I don't want to kill innocents!" I yelled and tried to wrestle out of his hold.
Before I could do anything, the gun was already in my hands and Jungkook held it strongly, finalizing the aim. I tried my best to point the gun anywhere expect for the poor man, but Jungkook's grasp was way more powerful than my whole body's energy. "S-Spare him please..." I requested him. "Spare him so he can make the same mistake again? Once a mistake is done, its done! Now he has to pay for it. No forgiveness in mafia world," he said and the trigger was finally pulled, marking the end of poor man's life.
My hands began to shiver yet again and I dropped on the floor crying. "You made me just like you. A monster, a sinner!" I shouted as my voice cracked. "Their death was written from your hands Eunhae, now what can I do about it?" Jungkook gave an evil smile. "Seokjin give her some clothes and provide her with a cloth and bucket of water and keep an eye on her while she cleans this bloody mess. Any mistake from her side and you know what to do. I have to go for a moment, need to spend some time with my Sira."
With that he walked away, leaving only me with Seokjin behind. "Follow me Eunhae," Seokjin said in a monotone voice and and I tagged along behind him. He led me to the opposite direction of the hall and then stopped in front of a room. He opened the door with a scanning device and we both went inside. The room was actually a wide wardrobe with many cabinets.
After a minute or two of searching, Seokjin took out a warm sweater with trousers and handed it to me. "Change into these and then knock. I will open the door from outside." With that he stepped out of the room, giving me privacy. I took off the ruined wedding gown that had only a few frills left and quickly wore the new clothes, feeling the warmth surround me.
I knocked the door and expected it to be opened by Seokjin, but instead of him stood Kim Namjoon.
I observed him as he looked completely different than before. A neat undercut with all hair tied back in a manbun, he was dressed in a black suit. But what was more notable were his tattoos on the back of his hands.
"We met again, precious Eunhae," Namjoon said, but I avoided his question. "Master Seokjin was supposed be here," I said. "He has other tasks to complete rather than being with you, now you would be under my sight. Come on! No delay! Get to work young lady," he demanded as I nodded and quickly picked up the pail of water and cloth before making my way towards the area where the blood was.
The bodies had already been taken away, only the big puddles of blood needed to be swept off. The unpleasant memory of me killing the men lurked my mind every time I wiped the blood off the floor. Real blood is nothing like movie blood, just as real death is nothing like movie death. There was no amount of horror that could prepare a person for seeing the life ebb from another, the hopelessness, the tearing at the soul that was the departing of the other.
With every sweep of the cloth that absorbed the blood and polished the marble floor, my ears rang with the cries of those men. No matter how hard I tried to save them, but Jungkook had possessed me so bad that refrained me to save them. His power overtook my weakness and thus I was forced to kill both of them.
Eunhae examined her blood stained hands with her glassy eyes. Her life took a confound turn towards a chapter that would not end so easily. The harder she tried to abscond from this misery, the harder the life pulled her back in it as if there were a source of attraction present between them. Only if a prodigy of serendipity could happen to save her.
