Lincolin and I stood quietly outside the mall waiting for the Choosey Jade to come out. She had tried five dresses already but they seem not of her taste. She wanted an exquisite, tremendous and classic outfit, something that would make her fiance Barry salivate with desire.

It has been two weeks since the strange and frightening incident. I felt a little better but not fine with Clane's I'll treatments in "our" bedroom. I have been distancing myself from Lincolin for the past two weeks but we had to travel together today for shopping. Their birthday was in a day time and it had to be of every guest's talk.

Opulency tastes sweet sometimes!

"Shan",  Lincolin began, "why did you decide to get married to him?" He asked.I bit my upper lip and a sigher escape my mouth before talking.

"My state at that time couldn't allow".

He raised a brow and gave me a surprised look as he moved close. He wanted to know the whole story from alpha to omega. A painful tear rolled down my virgin cheek as I gulped and began.

"It all started this raw morning when the sky was smiling to mock our bushy situation as our mother struggled for her life in the ICU. Tylor and l had walked sluggishly down the rough road from aunt Mavuna, our father's younger sister who had shooed us out of her compound and promised not to pop her head into our boring situation. She had even gone ahead and lay an accusing finger on our mother
for raising such lazy and dirty girls for daughters.

We had watched her sweep her cemented path to show how she had disowned us. Blood sometimes becomes a curse. Staying in the hospital with no good news was discouraging for us.

We had sold all valuable house hold equipment including our only source of hope (our mother's car) before going to her but all this was a pinch of salt in an ocean. My posts online about this a week back was filled with Q.Rs and R.I.ps (Quick Recoverys and Rest In Peaces) and this was shit at that time.

You brother came in at the right time that day when l had just lost a God sent angel who had promised to stand in our situation. Clane had promised to pay all the bills freely but my hesitance to free things landed me in his compound as his mistress.

I wanted to pay for it whole heartedly that's when he suggested on marriage jokingly and I gave in without a word. Don't understand me wrongly Linky but I just had to do it. He planned a surprise wedding which your parents agreed".

Lincolin was not satisfied with this. He wanted a convincing explanation but revealing the whole truth about my marriage could cost me alot.

"Hit the nail on the head and not the tail Shan! You just married him because of his riches right?" He growled.

"Didn't you get it? I married him to pay for his kindnes!" I raised my voice.

He smiled sarcastically and stuck his tongue out at me. This only happened whenever he felt deceived or mistaken for a fool He bit his lower lip and spoke.

"I also have something to tell you, something about..."He stopped as Jade came into view.

I wanted him to proceed but the presence of Jade seemed to destruct him. what was it all about? Was it about my useless life and marriage? We both entered into the car and sat quietly as Xavier drove.

I reached for a newspaper to avoid Lincolin's stares and realized it was an old one. How could a great man like Clane be walking around with old newspapers in his untoucheble car?

I opened the first page and something hit my mind. The same newspaper Tylor had wanted to show me two weeks back before Lincolin arrived! This was strange! I slowly turned to the fourth page and what caught my eyes was the heading written in bold. A BLIND FEMALE BODY GUARD NEEDED.

I quickly folded it and pushed it in my already full handbag as Lincolin and Jade gave me their harsh and boring stares. I owned none of them an explanation for my actions. I was to read at "the right time". Jade seemed to have many questions but she pursed her lips not to allow any of them out. Thanks be to Elohim!
