One of the greatest enigmas to me is people who don't eat meat.

Growing up in Nebraska, people not eating beef or pork or chicken is strange. I'm not used to the idea of that, even at 18.

I have a friend who's vegetarian... It's interesting for her. There are things at restaurants she can eat but once she ordered something without knowing it had meat... I don't know how that ended for her.

I have another friend who was pescatarian. She couldn't do it because there's no escape for beef and pork and chicken and stuff here.

Nebraska used to be called the "Beef State" and that's still stuck. In the country, people who don't eat beef... It's so different. In the cities, like Omaha and Lincoln, not so much. There it's not as different.

But here? In a town of 800?? Whew... It's rough.

So that's a little thing to think about. I'm not saying that not eating meat is wrong, heck no, I'm just saying it's different here.
