Today was a special day for Kokichi. He'd been super excited for today,  so many things to do!  It was his birthday after all.

Today was supposed to be one of the best days of his life. But that's just not what fate had planned for the teen.

Kokichi's POV

I got up like usual. Forgetting completely what today was. I've been waiting for it all year long! Pretty ironic,  I know.

I left the house pretty quickly. Obviously still clueless about what today was since my parents left for work before I woke up.

As I walking to school I passed by the park and out of no where I was tackled. "TAG! YOU'RE IT!" I heard a bunch of tiny voices say.  I turned my head to see what on earth was crushing me. 

"GOOD MORNING KOKICHI!" Yelled a bunch of little kids from around the neighborhood. There were about 10 of them and they were all around the ages of 4 and 5. I would usually play with them after school and babysit.

"Haha. Very funny you guys, but could you get off.  I need to get to school!" I pleaded. They just looked around and stared at eachother, little whispers began to erupt.

Kids are very confusing. "Uhhhhhhhh Guys?" Suddenly they stopped listening. One of the oldest of the group was a girl named Athena. She was pretty badass for a 6 year old. You do not want to get on her bad side.

She got off of me and stood in front of my head. "Fine. You can go to school. But you have to come play with us right after! Got it!?" She said bossily,  staring at me with those icy blue eyes of hers. "Hehe. Yes ma'am." I agreed to their demands and they let me go,  for now that is.

I sighed in relief and hurried off towards school. "Hopefully I'm not late!"

~Time Skip~

I finally reached school after running the whole way! Yes! I walked towards the entrance of the school. Everything looked pretty normal, except lI didn't see any of my friends.

I didn't see Shuichi, I didn't see Kaito, I didn't see Himiko. No one. That was pretty weird. But whatever.

I quickly dismissed the strange realization and continued to walk through the entrance and head to my homeroom.

Once I finally reached it,  I slid the door open, hoping to find my  just talking as usual.  But instead I was welcomed to something even better.

The room was black,  until suddenly, "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOKICHI!" It surprised me so much that I fell back! "Look!  He fell!  This is why-" I heard Shuichi say but then get cut off by a certain someone.. "DON'T WORRY! KAITO MOMOTA IS HERE TO SAVE THE DAY! I SAVE ALL PEOPLE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE! OLD AND YOUNG! TALL AND SHORT! Short in this case." Kaito pushed away everyone and picked me up. "Hey! I'm not that short!" I argued. He tossed me over his shoulder and ran back in. "AWAAAYYYY!" He yelled.

He put his arm in front of him and ran with that superman pose. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" I screamed in terror of him crashing. Luckily, that  idiot stopped before crashing into the wall.

"YOU ARE SAFE NOW YOUNG CITIZEN! ALL THANKS TO KAITO MOMOTA! LUMINARY OF THE STARS!" He yelled while smiling. "Pfft- Dude, you're not even an astronaut." I said.  "-Yet. Not yet at least." He retorted while putting me down on a desk.

So everyone turned to me and smiled.  "I seriously can't believe you guys remember my birthday.  I didn't even remember it." "Atua told me! He wishes you a great day. You now have his blessings!" Angie said in excitement. "It's because of my maaaagiic that we were able to stall in time." Himiko said lazily.

"Yeah!  Himiko your magic is so impressive!" Meanwhile Tenko was fawning over Himiko as usual. "I had it documented in my database so I wouldn't forget it!" Said Kiibo. "Awww! That's so sweet Kii-boy!" I thanked.

He walked right next to me and hugged me. I gave him a small kiss on the cheek in return. He blushed while I giggled.  "HAHAHA! Gay much?" Miu said jokingly. "Oh shut up! It's my birthday, be nice to me!" "But you didn't remember until now." Shuichi reminded. "Looks like you've still got a ways to go.." Ryoma said in a depressing tone. "Oh shush child! What matters now is that it's my goddamn birthday."

"I've brought the cake everyone." Kirumi said from the doorway in her usual calming voice. "Gonta bring everyone's presents and table! Gonta sorry he not smart boy, so he help carry big heavy stuff!" Gonta said cheerfully. "Thanks Gonta!" I thanked him and ran over to hug him too.

"It no problem! It Kokichi's birthday after all!" Gonta said sweetly. (God, I love this guy.) He set down the table and presents in the back of the room after everyone moved the desks out of the way. Kaito picked me up again and plopped me in the seat right in front of the birthday cake.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Kokichi! Happy Birthday to yoouuu!" Everyone sang to me. I made a wish and blew out the candles. Everyone was laughing and giggling as we had fun and did stupid,  funny stuff. I had wished this day would last forever and that I could always be with my friends.....

But that just didn't happen. Little did I know what a living hell this day would become, all in just a few hours.

A/N: Hey guys! So on the 29th, a guy I've known for 4 years, my friend, called me Asthma Girl. That seriously pissed me off.  But it made my friends even angrier. Sorry for the short rant,  I just don't really know what to do now. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
