One week later

"So that woman was like, this taste's terrible and shouted at me like I am the chef" Elsa narrated her tale to Merida and Jack.

"Waitressing is literally the hardest job ever. It's like you are the slaves, I used to be a waiter in this fancy restaurant. The only good thing about it was that I got good tips" Jack shared.

"Hold on lass, don't let those words hurt you. Poeple can be big jerks sometimes but if someone says something really awful to you.  Tell me, I will hunt them down and kill them" Merida said rolling her sleeves threateningly.

Elsa chuckled," thanks guys. Punzie was right. you guys are great friends"

"Speaking of Punzie, when will she be back?" Jack asked and Merida shrugged.

"I don't know, what about Flynn" Merida asked heading to the kitchen, Bertha had prepared the chicken. Merida still felt a twinge of guiltiness whenever she saw the replacement of Bertha but it can't be helped.

Before any of them could reply, Hiccup entered the apartment whistling a merry tune.

"Hey, how was your date?" Elsa asked and Jack nodded leaning a little further to hear the details.

"It was great!, we had a great time. Guys you know what!, I think she might be the one" Hiccup said getting excited.

The moment when you want to cut your fingers for writing this line but you remember you still have to include other things.

"Congrats Hicc, we are happy for you" Elsa cheered.

"Don't you think it's too soon to determine this, I mean it's only been your fourth date" Merida asked coming from the kitchen.
I sense jealousy.

"Yea I agree with Mer, you have known her only for two weeks." Jack said truthfully.

"Well I think you should take things slow, it's best way to test a relationship" Elsa suggested.

"Yeah yeah you guys don't need to worry" Hiccup said grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl.

"Well that's the que, which means we need to worry" Merida whispered to Jack and Elsa.

Toothless hearing Hiccup's voice, run out of Merida's room where he was currently napping.

"Hi bud" Hiccup greeted as Toothless circled around his feet.

"Just got a text from Punzie, she is on her way" Merida read.

"Another encounter with owl man, great!" Merida said her voice dripping in sarcasm.

"Speaking of encounter, you guys have never met Holly right" Hiccup said scratching Toothless's head.

"No but I would love to meet her. I used to have a horse named Holly. She was a really unreasonable creature, worst horse I ever had" Elsa declared.

Hiccup's face fell, Merida and Jack snickered in amusement.

"Well let's hope that this Holly is different" Jack whispered to Elsa. Who still didn't understand what was the laughing matter.

"How about, I will bring her to dinner next Saturday" Hiccup suggested.

"That sounds like a great idea cause next Saturday Derrick is coming over as well" Elsa informed.

"Sorry but I can't be there. Mom is having a dinner. Her childhood friend is visiting her son here and mom invited her for dinner and the whole family has to be there" Merida for the first time thanking her mother for the dinner, for some weird reason she didn't wanna see Holly. She just didn't feel comfortable seeing her for some very unknown reason.

"Oh that's bad, I wanted her to meet you. She really wanted to meet you guys. It's so bad my bestfriend won't be there" Hiccup said with a disappointed glint in his eyes.

"I thought, I was your best friend!" Jack protested.

"I am hurt very hurt. Hiccup Horrendous Haddock" Jack said pretending to die.

The three laughed at his horrible acting. Jack immediately sprang to his feet and bowed." Thank you ladies and gentlemen" he grinned.

Jack's little comedy lightened the mood a little.

"Maybe some other time Hic" Merida said patting his shoulder before going to the kitchen followed by Toothless.

"Guys I am home" Rapunzal sang with a cheerful smile plastered on her face.

"Hi Punz" they all greeted.

"How was your date Punzie?" Elsa asked.

Rapunzal looked like she could burst into a song "it was beautiful!, magical, romantic.." she sang dreamily.

"No details please" Merida teased sitting beside Jack and Elsa.

Rapunzal gave her a playful frown, " Merida getting you matched, is mission impossible but I was thinking. Elsa do you want to get matched?"

Elsa made a face, " No thanks Punz, I am not keen onthe idea of dating at the moment"

"Finally a third member to our group" Jack cheered, high fiving Merida.

"Actually fourth member, right Toothless?" Merida said raising her palm and Toothless high fived it.

"Wow when did you teach him that?" Hiccup asked.

"Just this afternoon, both of us were bored so I taught him a few tricks" Merida explained patting Toothless's head.

"So I guess we are out of tinned fish" Rapunzal asked and Merida nodded.

"But Elsa why?" Rapunzal asked.

"Well for starters, I don't date for fun. I am happy being single and just not ready for a commited relationship besides I have alot to do like finding a job of my interest and settling down. So boys are the last thing in my mind" Elsa explained, slowly her mature side was appearing. She was a quick learner and was trying her best to adapt.

"I absolutely agree"Merida said resting her head onthe couch.

Rapunzal pouted, " you guys are no fun. Hiccup tell them, how happy you are"  Rapunzal commanded.

"How happy who is?" Flynn asked joining his friends.

"Well sure I am happy but we don't need to force them" Hiccup protested.
If you don't understand his intention behind his words. I am deeply disappointed.

"Uggghhh." Rapunzal groaned turning to Flynn.

"Hey! Don't look at me. I just broke up with mine" Flynn defended and the whole group face palmed.

Typical Flynn.

"I heard she is Allergic to cats. So can i have Toothless" Jack asked.

"Hey! I want Toothless. Toothless doesn't even like you" Merida protested.

"No one is getting Toothless!!" Hiccup said turning red and standing up.

The pair started laughing, " sorry it's just been a longtime since we teased you" Merida said between her laugh.

"Yeah you were right. He simply can't give up Toothless" Jack said and the rest started to laugh as well.

"Aww wee jealous lamb" Merida teased poking Hiccup's puffed up cheeks.

Later

"This is the only job, Rapunzal trust me with" Elsa said as she washed the dishes.

"Well Rapunzal is a perfectionist, she doesn't even let Merida do anything" Jack said drying the plate.

"She sure has changed, there are hardly any signs of that 16 year-old Rapunzal" Elsa commented.

"We all change but never forget what makes you you. Yes Rapunzal might have become a little strict and more responsible but she is still that bubbly girl with girlish dreams" Jack explained.

"That's true, i may meet alot of  poeple each day but I will still be that introvert" Elsa said handing another plate to Jack to dry.

"See we all stay the same, just some minor details change"

"Aah yes, like me not able to get enough beauty sleep" Elsa joked.

" I don't need beauty sleep, I can be awake for three nights straight and still look more stunning than any model" Jack joked pretending to puff up his hair.

Two days later

"Elsa! Table 4!"

"Coming!" Elsa shouted her reply as she put the order on table 2 and then headed back to get her table 4's order"

It was 6:45 pm, just a few more minutes and then finally home. Elsa balanced the tray better in her hands as she served table 4.

She wiped the sweat from her face and sighed, she was learning but it was still very hard to survive inthe real world. She had given her application but no reply from anywhere.

Till then, she needed to stick with this job. She couldn't now even remember the time when breakfast was served to her in bed.

She now had to wake up at 6, make herself a quick breakfast and then catch the bus to arrive for work. Rapunzal and Merida both had easier jobs which started at 8:30 unlike her's which opened for breakfast at 7:30.

She then had a half an hour break and then back to work. Thankfully she didn't need the bus for coming home.

Merida and Punz mostly or sometimes any of the boys came to pick her up but these days it was hard time for both girls since the releasing of the fall collection was soon and Merida was busy making a short movie, which would be showed with UP 2.

Elsa looked at the clock, finally 7. She started collecting her stuff and sure enough Flynn and Jack were waiting for her.

"Hi guys" she greeted getting into the back seat.

"Hi Els" they both replied in unison before Flynn started the car.

The car ride went peacefully, with occasional Flynn and Jack bickering about some stupid things and Elsa just laughing at them.

Back at Rapunzal and Merida's apartment

"No you hang up" Rapunzal said twirling a strand of her long blonde hair while talking to Derrek.

"You hang up!" She giggled.

Merida just shook her head, this nonsense was going on for the past ten minutes. Sometimes she didn't even understand how she and Rapunzal lived together for the past four years.

She turned back to her book, legends from all around the world.

Right now she was inthe section of P, where it's famous that there is a demon who resembles to a woman and she sits inthe highest tree branches. She has long feet which touches the ground and increases in length if she wants to. The natives call her Pechal Peari , the translation to which is  Woman with long legs. It is said she is mostly spotted in villages and around the time of sunset.

Merida had to admit, the story she read about  her were terrifying and the picture gave her the shivers.

Don't worry I won't show you the picture, you can't sleep if I do.

She looked beside her to see Rapunzal had now resumed talking to Derrek.

She put the book aside and opened the tv instead putting on her favorite show.

"Hey!" She heard Hiccup cheer entering the apartment.

"Shhh" Rapunzal hushed him and he just shook his head taking a seat next to Merida.

"Rapunzal talking to Owl man again?" He asked and Merida nodded

"You should be lucky you weren't here the last ten minutes. No you hang up the phone, you hang up the phone" she mimicked Rapunzal's voice and Hiccup chuckled.

"What about dinner?" He asked.

"Your early, it's not ready yet" Merida replied.

"Well I am hungry, wanna go and eat the delicious lava cake at Taina's cafe. My treat" He offered.

"Sure! I always welcome free food besides it's been a longtime since we have visited Tia" Merida replied getting up.

Taina's cafe was the hangout location for the five friends. It was just across the street and friends had become good friends with Taina and her husband Naveen but since the two weeks had been so busy the friends hadn't gone there.

"Hey Punz! Wanna join-" Hiccup asked and Rapunzal shushed him again.

"I take that as a no, come on let's go"

Hey it rhymed again.

"Seriously how long have they been talking?" Hiccup asked.

"As long as I can remember" Merida said dramatically as they headed towards the elevator.

"And you know the date they had on Sunday? , Mr Owl man overslept and came late to work. An hour late! .You should have seen the look on Theo's face. He was red with anger and every one got scared  on how he might react and the studio was dead silent but luckily he managed to compose his anger and the work continued" Merida narrated.

"Well Derrek is looking for trouble" Hiccup commented.

"Hiccup it's not Derrek, its Daaaarek" Merida said mimicking Rapunzal's way of calling him.

"You do a horrible impersonation, it's Deeaarek" Hiccup corrected.

"Yea yea. Mr Know it all" Merida said rolling her eyes as they crossed the street.

"Choclate lava cake, here we come" Hiccup cheered.

They entered the cafe, which had the welcoming fragrance of coffee beans and choclate.

The wall were sandy brown in colour with designs painted on them by choclate brown colour.

It was not too crowded right now, usually the friends came over to the cafe at this time to enjoy some peace.

"Look who's not dead, Tia" Naveen said as he spotted the pair.

"Well you could we dogded death three times this past week" Hiccup informed.

Taina came rushing to meet her friends,  "Good to see you back, I thought you guys forgot about us" She said giving them a quick hug.

"We can never forget about you but you could say  there have been some changes" Merida said taking her usual seat.

"Yea. That's the perfect way to sum it up" Hiccup commented.

"Let me get you two, your favorite dessert. Then I want to hear more about this"  Taina said as she disappeared.

"Till then let me entertain you guys, with a song!" Naveen said taking out his guitar.

I once had friends who betrayed me
And now what I see
Is that no one cares about me
But I never understood what I did wrong
So that's why I wrote this song!

This song has been written over time of one minute. For some reason I crack up at the last verse.

" Naveen stop scaring the customers!" Taina said bringing over two slices of cake.

"That thing is......." Merida explained as Taina eagerly listened.

After the whole story, a light bulb lit in Taina's head.

"Your friend can work here, recently one of the waitress left. She can take her place and I promise to pay her more" Taina suggested

Merida and Hiccup shared a happy smile,  "Really Tia that would be great!, I mean it will make things so much easier."

It was true, Elsa wouldn't have to wake up at six, since the cafe was just across the street and it opened at eight. She can also go home during break. Not to mention Tiana will be a little easy on Elsa and the best part the paycheck was bigger.

"Honey I know how hard it is, to follow your heart. You forgot I had to do two jobs to support my dream and i am always willing to help anyone who needs support" Taina smiled.

She was really some with a big heart. She was always helping the friends one way or another. Like the time she taught Merida and Rapunzal how to cook and even helped Rapunzal bake her first cake for Jack's birthday. Bertha! I miss you!!

I love Taina so she will be one of the secondary chracters in my story and not to mention how much I admire her will power and determination and yes Merida knows how to cook.

An hour later

"Where were you two?" Rapunzal said angrily opening the door, she had her frying pan in her other hand.

"Tadada we're dead" Hiccup whispered as Rapunzal swinged her frying pan threateningly.

"Chill Punz, we just went to meet Tia" Merida said eyeing the frying pan.

"And I suppose you two, didn't eat anything." She asked in a creepily nice voice.

"No nothing, just coffee. Right Hic?" Merida said elbowing Hiccup who just gulped seeing the frying pan.

"Yep! Just coffee. We remember the rule clearly. No desserts before dinner." Hiccup grinned nervously. Mentally slapping his self a million times for not remembering this.

"Oh really...then why is there choclate on your cheek" Rapunzal asked calmly but scary at the same time.

"Well ummm uh" Hiccup mumbled and Merida face palmed.

They both shared a defeated look, "we are sorry Punzie please don't kill us" they mumbled in unison.

"This is the last warning for you two and no dessert. I made my famous choclate chip cookies but sadly since you two are already stuffed. You can't have them" Rapunzal said walking back  inside.

"Great" Merida muttered sarcastically as they both headed inside as well.

At the table, Flynn and Jack snickered at them and Elsa gave them sympathetic look.

Rapunzal glared at them a little before turning back to her cheerful self.

Merida and Hiccup just silently took their seats, next to eachother. Still angry that they can't get the cookies and both blaming it at eachother.

they shared a angry look before turning away from eachother.

20 minutes later

"Cookies time" Rapunzal cheered bringing a batch of cookies.

"Mmmmm Punz, they smell delicious" Flynn said loudly trying to annoy the pair.
Who just glared back.

"Mmm Punzie, this maybe your best batch ever" Jack teased as well biting into one.

"Ooh they taste like heaven" Flynn cheered.

"Aww I am glad you guys love them, I am so happy my cookies go to poeple who deserve them" Rapunzal said shooting another look at the annoyed pair.

Elsa who was sitting beside Hiccup, secertly gave him a cookie from under the table.

" For you and Merida" she mouthed.

Rapunzal was too busy taking compliments from Jack and Flynn to notice.

Hiccup broke the cookie in half and gave  one half to Merida.

They both shared a small smile which meant they weren't mad at eachother anymore.

They quickly eat of the half cookie and did a silent high five of victory and then gave a thankful smile to Elsa.

After all bestfriends can't stay mad at eachother for too long.

And that's how the day was ending peacefully,.

"And now I give all of Merida's share of cookies to Jack!!" Rapunzal declared.

"What!!"

And I spoke too soon.

So another chapter yay. I can't wait for next week so I can publish next one. I literally love the next one and yes it's complete but my policy is every Saturday update.

Atleast for sometime.

Then it would be one update, one month.
