At lunch I sat down with my usual meaty meal and noticed the sweetest most beautiful person sitting across me... why was it that everything just below me looked so entertaining whenever she was around? 

"Hi..." I spoke softly but I was articulate enough.

 "Hiiii...."

"Hiiiiiii.... How's it going?"

"Oh, it's nice. I'm doing all right in English, but I'm kinda failing in Biology..." I small talked.

 I glanced over at Starburst who was grinning so wide, it started to scare me.

 I swear that girl has no idea how to keep a crush a secret. Knowing her, she might push me into Rainblossom's arms and scream "get some" if I wasn't sitting down. I love her for that.

"Umm..." I fixed my hair a bit. 

Was my ponytail too crooked? Was my purple v neck too low cut? Were my pastel jeans too tight for my body? God, I felt like I was going on Project Runway in a gown made of used tissues!!

"Ah, Bio, the evilest of science classes. I'm taking it too, but the teach lets me skip once in a while because i actually know what I'm doing. I can help you with it, if you want"

My heart fluttered. "S-sure! I mean... okay! I'm game!" I hoped that was the right choice of words. 

Damn it, Starburst, stop giving it away!! I love you but JESUS!! AAAGH!!!She looked over at Starburst, who was making ridiculous faces. 

Opening the small pack of cheese balls she had, she threw one at her nose. Star stopped. 

"Ok, cool. Bio is next, right? I'll be towards the back, probably reading or something. He gave me today work last week.Just because I play sports doesn't mean I'm not smart." 

She was smart. No. Not smart. She was intelligent. A Genius! She got out of an advanced placement class because she was so smart!! So she was athletic, intelligent, sweet, stylish, and all around amazing! I knew she was beautiful inside and out but the intelligence thing kind of surprised me. It was no wonder she was so popular! She was perfect in all the right ways!Oh, and she threw a cheese ball at Starburst so she had that going, too.

"I... You're... uh... that's wondrous!"

"Oh, just one thing. NEVER ask me English questions. I can't pronounce anything, right Star?"Starburst smiled and nodded.

 Hmm. Even more perfect; she had flaws. <3

"Ya know, Rain Blossom, Zapp is amazing at both English and Home Economics! She can make a peach cobbler that tastes so good, your mouth will water just from touching the fork!"

 I blushed hard. "Oh, I don't think I'm that good. You're overstating...." 

"Oh please," she started, "I think I'm UNDERstating!!"

My side bangs fell into my face, my stomach still fluttering.I giggled a bit and took another bite of my hamburger. Funny thing is, I actually got the lunch ladies to give me a double cheeseburger. Ah, the freedom of high school.

"I know! How about a trade? I help you with Bio and any other class and you help me with Home Ec and English"

My God I was blushing. We actually were planning a study date!!! I squealed a bit on the inside but it was so loud in my mind, I started squeaking on the outside. I stopped my faint yet prolonged squeak and smiled.

 "Sure! That sounds perfect!" 

For the first time I looked up into her eyes... Oh, how beautiful they were. So deep and sparkling. Like a thousand tiny diamonds filled each iris. Oops. I was blushing again.... I noticed I was also leaning in and I pulled myself back before my elbows touched her mashed potato gravy.

"Uh, sorry. Was.....trying to remember when i had study hall! Yeah, that's....... Uh, so when do you have it?" I blushed even harder. Was she staring at me, too? No. Couldn't be. I smiled.

 Suddenly my body was filled with warmth and happiness. 

"I... I have Study Hall next hour. Maybe we can hang out then?" I asked hopefully. For the first time in forever (I'm getting what I'm dreaming ooofffff) I actually felt confident and all right.

"Cool, so do I! I'll meet you in the library?"

"Awesome! Sure! Let's walk together after lunch." I proposed. 

My mind and heart were both racing a mile a minute. Starburst stared at us and groaned a bit. Probably annoyed that we weren't sharing our actual emotions. I laughed a bit and glanced at those beautiful dazzling eyes. So deep and full of emotion. I longed to know what kinds of emotions were swirling there behind those glowing orbs.

"Yeah, lunch is over in like five minutes, so we don't have to wait long," she answered while tossing another cheese ball at Star. 

My eyes were focused on Starburst, who was about to get up and strangle her. Star looked like she was gonna explode, making us laugh harder.I was having a pretty fun time when... the bell rang. 

"Aw, man, Lunch is over." I sounded a bit sarcastic. Oops. "Uh... let's go, Rain Blossom." 

Starburst smirked and mouthed "get some" to the both of us before walking off to her next class. I walked down the hall and thought of a good line to use.

"Hey, my ex is following us," I whispered, "could you hold my hand so he gets jealous?" 

I prayed to God she would take my hand, but more importantly, wouldn't turn around to see nobody there.

"Uh, ok."

She took my hand and my whole body felt like it was floating. DAMN THAT WAS SMOOOOTH!! I smiled widely and hummed the first song that came to my head: In My Head by Jason Derulo.

"You have a great voice," was her only reply.

I blushed and smiled. She didn't even hear me sing... Well, I thought, let's give her a show.

"Just leave with me now, say the word and we'll go." I spun her around. "I'll be your teacher, I'll show you the ropes."

 I twirled her around and was enchanted by her grace. She flowed like water. Her legs so flawless, I swear she could fall off an airplane and still look like a goddess. 

"You'll see a side of love you've never known. I can see it going down, going down," I started singing in my best first soprano voice, even surprising myself a bit. "In my head, I see you all over me. In my head-"

"You fulfill my fantasy" she continued with the lyrics.

 Stopping the dancing for a second, she bowed.

 "May i have this dance?"I nodded and took her hand.

 So... we danced in the hallway. Five people noticed us, but for the first time in my life... I didn't care. 

"All those days, chasing down a daydream," she changed the song. 

My whole world brightened up. She was singing this... to me.... My heart started to melt and I didn't care if my eyes showed it. Tears of happiness filled them. Was this... was this love?

"All those years living in a blur, all that time, never truly seeing things the way they were" she slowly spun me around."Now you're here, shining in the hall light, now you're here, suddenly I know, standing here, it's crystal clear, we're where we're meant to go"

(Honorable mention to Rain Blossom that made me cry during the roleplay: Dancing there in the hall with her, I fell in love the same way you fall asleep; slowly, then all at once)

My heart fluttered a bit. She made me so happy. I couldn't even describe it with words. Just a fuzzy, soft, warm feeling starting from my chest and around to my entire body.

"And at last I see the light."

"And it's like the fog has lifted" She was a wonderful singer as well.

"And at last I see the light. And it's like the sky is new."

 Once we sang together, it just sounded... right.

Like a puzzle fitting together. 

Like my puzzle somehow connected with hers. I finally had a piece of beauty. A piece of her flawlessness.

"And it's warm and real and bright."

"And the world has somehow shifted"

"All at once," I teared up at how true this felt to me, "everything is different. Now that I see you."

I leaned in slightly, anticipating the last verse.

The bell rang and I was officially late for Spanish.

We said our goodbyes and I walked off.

If only it had stayed like that....
