Entry Four
I met a genuinely interesting person today... She was quite different from the usual one dimensional caricatures I'm stuck here with. There were the typical jock, nerd, bad boy, and prom queens walking down the hallway and I, your not that typical basketcase, thinking about how much chicken crap I'd have to shovel today to get my allowance. My mind was drifting, so it was understandable when I accidentally slammed into a certain jock. My books went flying and I was practically shaking with frustration.
"Hey, b*tch, watch where you're going!" was the first greeting I got all morning.
I've never been a fan of Crescent .... He was the son of my mother's personal bully, Trixie. Our families didn't really get along, and ever since Trixie married Prince Blueblood, her son's been as uptight as ever.
Anyways, so that stuck up snob screamed at me and called me a clumsy oaf. I glared back at him and was about to say something back but another person jumped in before I could say anything.
"Hey! What did you just call her?!" The girl snapped.
"I called her a clumsy little b*tch, that's what! She should watch where she's going; royalty might be walking there."
By then the girl had tied back her fiery hair and was ready to fight. "Royalty?! Just because you're rich doesn't mean you can push others around like that! If you DARE try to hurt her again for not seeing your skinny *ss, I will personally deliver a little piece of karma to ya...." Then she added through grit teeth, "no takesies backsies."
I honestly was holding back a bit of laughter from her last line, but I was extremely grateful for her standing up to him for me.
Crescent just glared. "My father will hear about this!" He flurried his hand and stormed off. (Harry Potter reference, if you get it comment a smiley face and I will respect you just a bit more! <3 <3 <3)
The girl then helped me gather my things. "Sorry about that Crescent. He's kinda a beast," she smiled apologetically, "My name is Starburst by the way. What's yours?"
"U-uh... I'm Zap... Zap Apple Spark. Thanks for, uh, all that." I felt a bit flustered. Nobody at this school had ever been *this* kind to me. It was always just a "hello" or "nice hair" but... this.... I actually kinda liked this....
"Well, Zap," she handed me my books, "if you ever need anything, anything at all, don't hesitate to ask."
"Well... I'd like a friend."
Starburst smiled. "You've already got one, me." She then hugged me then stood, "I'm late for Bio. See you at lunch. My table's always open." She winked then walked off.
I stood up and smiled a little. Day Four in this wretched place... and I'd made a friend sooner than I expected. I can't wait to tell Mom.
