3RD PERSON POV

It was in the middle of the night in Oshu and right now, Kojuro was facing off with Hanbei and the Toyotomi soldiers who not only had him surrounded but they also captured two villagers from below and the spy was there too. Hanbei smirked at Kojuro and he said to him.

"Katakura-kun, I want you to join us."

Kojuro looked surprised at first but then he frowned at Hanbei.

"What?"

"I've heard of your exploits, Katakura-kun. You mimicked the Tiger of Kai's own strategy to outmanoeuvre Takeda himself."

Hanbei walked towards the edge of the cliff as he continued his explanation.

"You were capable of leading the great force that was composed of all the eastern armies gathered to bring down Oda. At Honnoji, you sent Akechi Mitsuhide to meet his maker, allowing both your Lord and Lady to fight the Devil King. Without you, Azuchi castle probably would not have fallen."

Kojuro was a bit surprised that he knew this much already. 

"And this most recent affair at Kawanakajima. In my own way, I had spent much time planning out that operation but, you ruined it for me in an instant with your quick thinking. I have never suffered such a blow at the hands of anyone else."

Hanbei spoke before turning back to face Kojuro.

"Why didn't you raise your own army? you should have been able to do it. An even more powerful, more disciplined..."

Hanbei walked back into the spot where he was standing as he continued.

"Yes, a splendid army like Toyotomi's."

"It would be unthinkable of me for anyone but Masamune-sama to be Number One of the Date Army of Oshu. I'm here as his Right Eye, that's all!"

"Only when you come work for Hideyoshi will your talents surely be put to truly good use and-"

  "I've had about enough of that!" Kojuro interrupted him. "It's unbecoming for a man to use flattery. You can use it all you want, I won't turn traitor."

"I was giving you a legitimate assessment. You have too much to offer to be crushed in the fall of Date."

Kojuro heard enough of Hanbei and then he slowly drew his sword.

"I, Katakura Kojuro, have no intention of ever serving anyone other than Masamune-sama and (Y/n)-sama!"

Hanbei sighed a little before he told him.

"I didn't come here so we could kill each other. However, depending on your answer..."

Hanbei glanced at the hostages until the spy held his blade closer to the village girl's neck while the Toyotomi soldier held his spear closer to the old man's neck.

"K-Katakuta-sama!"

"Your methods are no different from that of common bandits. It shows how shallow you are for all your pompous talk, Takenaka Hanbei!"

Hanbei chuckled before he spoke up.

"That hurts. It shows just how much we want for you to join us."

"You don't understand the way of the Date!

"I believe I do know. The lives of nameless people living on the land and your loyalty to your Lord and Lady, Masamune-kun and (Y/n)-chan. You would naively try to protect them both..."

Kojuro held his sword at the ready before Hanbei continued.

"In other words, it means there is no way for you to win in this situation."

Hanbei tapped the flat part of his blade to signal the soldiers to attack. They drew their swords and they charged at Kojuro. He blocked and attacked the soldiers without any bother until the Toyotomi spy shoved the girl onto the ground and he was about to kill her until Kojuro saw this. He charged at the spy and he took him down along with the soldier who held the old man hostage. He grabbed him in time before he fell and then he turned back towards the soldiers as the hostages hid behind him.

The Toyotomi soldiers had them surrounded until Kojuro spotted an incoming whip blade. He deflected the attack and it was Hanbei's sword which had turned into a whip with blades. Hanbei swung his sword downwards and then Kojuro dodged him in time as he took out two of the Toyotomi soldiers. Hanbei swung his whip and then Kojuro dodged it again but, one of the soldiers ran over to the hostages and he was about to take them out but, Kojuro stopped him in time. But, when his back was turned Hanbei took this opportunity to use his blade whip and then it wrapped around Kojuro's wrist and sword.

Hanbei smirked and then he pulled his weapon to get Kojuro distracted until two of the Toyotomi soldiers appeared behind them.

"Katakura-sama!" They both shouted before they were knocked out.

Kojuro looked back and then the rest of the Toyotomi soldiers charged at him and they beat him up. Once Kojuro was weakened, Hanbei released Kojuro but he made him drop his sword. Kojuro tried to reach for his sword but it was no use. 

"Y-You bastard..."

Kojuro looked back at Hanbei as he approached him while his whip turned back into a sword.

"Do you think me underhanded, Katakura-kun?"

Two of the soldiers grabbed Kojuro by his arms and before Kojuro blacked out, Hanbei said to him.

"When there is no time, people behave disgracefully in their haste..."

READER'S POV

Masamune and I were sleeping peacefully in each other's arms until we heard Yoshinao and Samonosuke shouting for us.

"Boss!! Boss!!"

I groaned a little and I rubbed my eyes and mumbled.

"Oh man...what's with all the ruckus?"

"I have no idea..."

Masamune mumbled before yawning. 

"Th-Th-The- There's trouble, Boss!!"

"What is it?" Masamune asked them before opening the sliding door. "Have you found the spying bastard from Toyotomi's camp or something?"

I rested my head on his shoulder with my arms wrapped around his arm since I was still feeling tired.

"W-We're under attack!" Yoshinao shouted.

"Nabu, Tsugaru and Souma! From all fronts at the same time!" Sanosuke explained to us.

I was fully awake when he told us this and then Masamune mumbled.

"Shit! so they've come already."

I released Masamune's arm and he was about to go inside to get ready for battle and I asked Yoshinao and Sanosuke.

"Has someone told Kojuro-kun about this?"

"Yes, Ma'am. Bushinchio has gone to let Katakura-sama..."

"Boss!!"

We looked to the side and we watched as Magobei and Bushichi run towards us and they looked panicked.

"Katakura-sama has been..!"

We looked at them surprised before those two idiots tripped and fell. Magobei looked at us and he explained to us.

"O-Suzu from the village and her Grandfather came running to my place! They said someone had gotten Katakura-sama!"

"What?!" Yoshinao, Sanosuke and I shouted while Masamune looked shocked and surprised.

Bushichi approached us and he knelt before us and showed us Kojuro's sword.

"We found this in the field on the hill."

"That's Katakura-sama's..."

"The Kokuryu!"

Yoshinao and Samonosuke told us. Masamune walked over to them and he picks up Kojuro's sword. Masamune stared at the sword and the engraving which said 'Bonten Will Become the One-Eyed Dragon Soaring the Heavens.' Masamune looked angry and then Bushichi told us.

"It seems he was attacked by a group of men late at night. Using dirty tricks, they took Katakura-sama away somewhere... we found out who the traitor was, too."

"Who was the ringleader of this band? Did he reveal his identity?" Masamune asked them.

Magobei and Bushichi glanced at each other before Magobei told us.

"It seems it was the Toyotomi's..."

"Takenaka Hanbei..."

I was shocked and angered by this and then I stood next to Masamune and asked him.

"Since Hanbei was the one who did this, what will you do now?"

Masamune thought for a moment and then he told his men.

"Send scouts to Osaka. Once we reunify Oshu, we'll immediately go to get him back."

"Yes, sir!"

Bushichi told before leaving.

"Don't just sit there. We're going to war!"

"Y-yes sir!"

The others told him before running off. Masamune looked angry and he mumbled.

"Good courage. Make a fool of me, will he?"

Masamune looked at Kojuro's sword while the horn blew.

"Looks like it's going to be a rough party."

"So it would seem, unfortunately."

Masamune looked at me and he said to me.

"(Y/n), go and gather some of the healers. We may end up getting a few casualties and you're gonna need all the help you can get."

"Right."

I told him before I left to get changed and gather as many healers as possible for this fight.

TIME SKIP...

We ended up splitting three groups of armies to deal with the Toyotomi army from Nanbu, Tsugari and Souma. Things were going well for a while but, I knew that something was bound to go wrong. I did my best to help the fights while helping the healers with the injured. We helped the soldiers as best as we could but, they just coming and to make matters worse...

I was in the battlefield with Masamune and I used my fire dragon to take out as many soldiers. Since Kojuro wasn't there, I had to guard his back and help the injured at the same time. We both panted in exhaustion for a moment until Yoshinao came back to us with a report.

"Boss! our scouts have reported back."

"What did they say?" I asked him.

"The Ashina Army is apparently closing in on us from Aizu! They're about to approach Suriagehara."

I was shocked by this and then I sighed heavily.

'Dammit, Hanbei! he's outsmarted us again! he wanted us to be exhausted before we can rest!'

"How are the others doing?" Masamune asked him.

"All fronts seem to be on the offensive for now, but, we'll need to assign troops against these guys too..."

Masamune frowned and he was just as annoyed and angry as I was. 

"Lass, you think you still have energy left to heal most of the soldiers?"

"I'll do my best, Masamune but, the healers are already having enough problems as it is."

"Just get as many of our men back onto the field if you can."

"All right."

I told him before I headed back to the healers to assist them. Once most of the soldiers were patched up, we got back on our horses and we headed to Suriagehara. Once we got there, Masamune and I got there first with our men following behind us. We watched as Hanbei walked his horse to the front of the army.

"Takenaka Hanbei, you've saved me the trouble of coming after you," Masamune spoke with a smirk even though he and the others including myself were exhausted from the previous fights.

"It was a mistake to divide up your army equally, Masamune-kun, (Y/n)-chan."

"What?"

"If it were Katakura-kun, he would have sent the smallest forces possible to Nanbu, Tsugaru and Souma and fought evenly matched battles or drawn them in as close as he could before dealing with them. Because he would have been wary that it was a feint to make it easier for another detachment to invade."

Masamune frowned and then we watched Hanbei draw his sword and then he points it at us to signal the attack. The Toyotomi soldiers shouted their war cry and I mumbled.

"Here we go again."

Masamune spurred his horse and I shouted the guys.

"Let's go boys!!"

"Yeah!"

They shouted before I spurred my horse. I glared at Hanbei and then Masamune leapt into the air before he shouted.

"Be right there!"

3RD PERSON POV

Hanbei drew his sword and then it turned into a whip before he swung it right at Masamune. The whip caught Masamune's sword but, Masamune was able to give him a good pull and then Henbei was pulled right off his horse. Masamune landed onto the ground and then Hanbei released his whip sword before landing onto the ground. Hanbei used his whip again and he tried to attack Masamune but, he deflected it in time. Masamune dashed into the dust before spinning in mid-air. A few soldiers blocked his path but, when Masamune swung his sword downwards he used his lighting ability to send them all flying.

However, when he was distracted, Hanbei took this opportunity to attack and then his blades struck his helmet. Masamune was shocked by his speed while Hanbei smirked.

"Masamune! look out!!" (Y/n) shouted.

Before he could turn around, Hanbei used his whip blade turned back into a sword and then it struck his back causing a tear to appear on the back of his jacket. The Date soldiers and (Y/n) were shocked by this.

"Normally, that back of yours would be protected by Katakura-kun or (Y/n)-chan but, unfortunately since your wife was too slow to help you and now that he's not here, it's so easy to slash apart now."

"Bastard..." Masamune grumbled.

"I promise that he will be treated cordially. So rest easy and die a noble death here at Suriagehara."

"That's just perfect! I'll pay you back for that right here, right now!"

Masamune shouted before his blue aura surrounded him and he drew his six swords.

"War Dance!!"

(Y/n) frowned angrily and then she used her ability to increase Masamune's speed and attacks. 

"Allow me to assist you, Masamune!"

Hanbei was surprised by this and then with his increased speed, Masamune starts to attack Hanbei with his six swords. Hanbei was surprised and he did his best to block Masamune's attacks. 

"Hey! Hanbei!"

Hanbei turned around and then (Y/n) started to attack him. Hanbei blocked her sword and then she smirked at him. Hanbei shoved her away from him and at the same time she backflipped over Masamune and then she placed her hand on his back.

"Go get him Masamune!!"

Her hand glowed and then Masamune started attacking Hanbei. He jumped away from Masamune and he thought to himself.

'Perhaps I underestimated them a little...'

Hanbei looked to the side and then more Toyotomi soldiers were coming their way. 

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me."

(Y/n) mumbled before she and Masamune watched Hanbei use his whip blade to create a smokescreen to make his escape. Once the smoke settled, Hanbei got back on his horse and then he along with his army retreated.

"Damn it!!

"Masamune!"

(Y/n) shouted before they turned to look at what was happening around them. They watched as a few of their soldiers beginning to fall and then the Toyotomi soldiers were able to break through their defences.

"So they've...broken through..."

(Y/n) panted in exhaustion and then she said to Masamune.

"This is madness....it's like pandemonium out here..."

"This is totally not cool."

Just then, some of the Toyotomi soldiers surrounded the both of them. (Y/n) stood back to back and then Masamune spoke up.

"The moment I'm robbed of my Right Eye, this is the mess I get into...Even I have to admit it disgusts me!"

"I'm just as annoyed as you are. It's my fault for not guarding your back especially now that Kojuro-kun is not around. Gomen, Masamune."

"Don't apologise, (Y/n). Never show your weakness."

Masamune told her before his lighting blue aura surrounded him. The Toyotomi soldiers charged at them and then they struck Masamune and his helmet was sent flying. Masamune and (Y/n) frowned and then they showed off their auras which sent the soldiers who had them surrounded flying. Both leaders stood at a fighting stance and then Masamune shouted.

"Come on! It's not over yet!"

The Toyotomi soldiers charged at Masamune and (Y/n) and then their fight began.
