Hearing that they've landed at Mumbai International Airport; her heart started pumping so first. She couldn't believe that she was finally home, a place she missed so much. There were so many emotions going on with her. Sophia noticed and asked if she was okay and she nodded her head but she was far from being fine. Only she knew how she was feeling because she had tears in eyes but didn't want to get noticed especially by her son but he also did. "Mummy, why are you crying?, are you not fine?"little Karan asked worried about his mum. She turned and cupped his face saying, " am fine sweetie, mum is just happy to be back home. So these are tears of joy". "Am I going to meet my grandmas?, aunties and uncles?", he asked her again and she told her he will but not now. "I love you mum" he said hugging her and she hugged him too saying, " i love you too sweetie". Preeta did her best to tell her son about her family and his dad's family but the one name she never mentioned to him was his dad but told him he's a good man. Being young as he is, he didn't ask questions and Preeta was relieved, though Sophia always pressurized her to tell her son about his father.

She asked the driver to take her to some place before they went to the hotel where she was going to stay till her house was ready and he did. Reaching at the place, it was her mum's house. She wanted to go inside but couldn't because what was she going to tell them and what if they aren't happy to see her and her son ?, what will she do?, she can take any rejections but not her son. So, she decided that she will be back some other time and her son will only meet her family after they've reconciled and she hopes its soon because she misses her family. She ordered the driver to take them at the hotel. "What was that about?. And what's that place?"Dianne asked, "what was what?", Preeta hit back. "That, I mean you took us some place and we were just there in the car seated doing nothing" Dianne told her but Preeta didn't say anything. Sophia asked Dianne to shut up in a polite way. Dianne and Sophia were friends first, and then Preeta was added to the circle though Preeta and Sophia are best friends and even though Dianne is also now close to Preeta, she doesn't know all about her life like Sophia does.

When they reached at the hotel, Preeta went to her room to rest first because she was very tied and had a lot on her mind. And since Dianne and Sophia were going to your around, she requested that they take her son along with them because he would get bored and she wanted be alone. Dianne observed her friend's behaviour and realised maybe she was harsh in telling her off and when they left the hotel, she asked Sophia why Preeta was behaving differently. "Because this place brings back a lot of memories on her part; both the bad and good" She answered. "I see" she muttered. They had hired a car so it was them and the little boy inside the car. They decided to go to an ice cream parlour since that's what Karan Jr. and they didn't mind. On reaching the place, it was so huge but customers were few since it was in the evening however it was cool too . They ordered their ice cream and ate while watching over the little boy who was now playing by the castle with other kids.

While playing, there were kids playing with a ball and he decided to join in, however when he kicked the ball; it hit someone and he got scared but his mum always taught him to say sorry so when he went to say his sorry and also pick the ball from him; he first hesitated but the man was so kind that he went where he was standing and handed him the ball. However when the man reached, his heart skipped a beat and started pumping so first, he looked into his eyes and saw something familiar in them and not only that but he felt some connection. He looked at him emotionally like he knew the boy but he also didn't know him; and that's when Sophia looked at where the boy was and was scared and told Dianne to go and get the boy because they were leaving now; "why don't you go get him yourself?" Dianne asked to which Sophia said she can't because she knows the man and he knows her because they've met once before and she doesn't know if he will remember her or not but doesn't want to take chances. "You have a lot of explaining to do?, also the guy is handsome and hot, who the he'll is he?". Look Dianne, I will tell you everything but just go get the boy and we leave this place. Also don't ever mention what you've seen to Preeta ever, okay?. "Fine, i will get him but you have to tell him what you and Preeta are hiding. Since we've come to India, you've been acting strange. Am your friend, I deserve to know" Dianne said.

"Excuse me sir, we were just leaving. Karan come on, we gotta go, auntie Sophia is waiting" Dianne said. That surprised the man so much, Karan, he said while smiling and went back to his table where his friends were and had been watching him. "You seem to be in a good mood and that little boy, you know him?" One of his friends asked and he said no; but he was still smiling and that surprised his friends because they've never seen him smile like that for the past three years. "Hey buddy, are you fine?", another asked. "I don't know man, I felt strange and he seemed familiar too at the same time and the strangest thing is that I heard that lady call him Karan; like me. We have the same names and now I feel like, I wanna meet him again" he said emotionally. And his friends patted on his back because they knew he and his family were going through a difficult patch. "You know, looking at him; it felt like I was looking at my child. Am sure, he/she is of the same age like him but I don't know where he/she and the mum are. Oh God, I miss Preeta Arora so much; you don't know how much I do and regret a lot for what I did to her. "Karan, don't you think, it's time you moved on from her?, there are a lot of women that love you but you've hanged on to this Preeta, what if she doesn't return? or worse still is married; I think your wasting your time on a woman who may never come back" One of his friends told him. And he told him to shut up because he knew nothing about who Preeta was or what she means to him. "She is for me, the only one that will ever be. It doesn't matter if she doesn't returns or she's married, I don't care, you got it. Excuse me, I gotta go" and he left pissed at them.

After returning little Karan to his mum; Sophia went straight to her room where Dianne followed her because she was anxious. She wanted to know what the mystery with Preeta's life because Preeta never really talked about it while in the States. And at first, she thought Preeta didn't trust her much but later found out that she didn't like talking about it but sometimes it's Sophia who always brought it up and since Preeta doesn't wanna tell her, Sophia will and here they are. "Since Dianne talks too much, she told Sophia how the guy is hot, handsome and would like to hook up with him" Sophia asked which one because they saw many told and she told him the one who was talking with little Karan. Sophia looked at for a few seconds without saying anything and Dianne asked " what?, is there anything wrong with that?". And Sophia said "yes". "Well I want to know, and it better have some value otherwise I go after him and you me, I always get what I want. "First of all, I could careless about the men you hook up with and I don't want to know who they are but please leave this one out. Don't look, hook or even talk to him when you find him" Sophia told her being serious. "Why" Dianne asked curiously. "Because that guy is the famous Karan Luthra, Preeta's husband and the father of her son". Sophia said. "What?, wait a minute, Preeta is married? , why didn't any of you ever tell me that? Dianne asked surprised. "Because you never asked " she answered back.

"Wow! She has such good taste in men, no wonder she failed to date any of the guys you hooked her up with. Karan is hot and I agree with her. And don't worry, Karan Luthra is out of my bound but wait he just met his son; oh no does he know about him? She asked and Sophia told her that Karan doesn't know about it however, I don't know what the future holds for the three of them. "Why aren't they together, if they are married?". Sophia told her whole story and after what she has heard, she too hated Luthras, there and then. She was angry at them but also understood Preeta's behaviours but was also proud of the woman she has became. She vow to Sophia to always look out for both her and Preeta.
"Sophia, I think Preeta needs to know about what's happening to Luthras, with what you've told me, it's serious and even though I hate them now. It's the right decision to do because at the end of the day, no matter what happened, she still family because her son is a Luthra" Dianne told her. "Alright, I will inform her this evening after our supper.
And it didn't take long, after they had their supper, Dianne took little Karan to sleep and left them to talk. "What is so important you want to tell me that it couldn't wait till morning?" Preeta asked. "Its about Luthras and I want to tell you before, you hear it from someone else or even see it in newspapers.  Every time, the name Luthra was mentioned, it affected Preeta somehow but always pretended not be affected. "What about them?", she asked looking disinterested. Sophia told her everything she knew about the Luthras including Karan's failed wedding because she knew that too.
