Rolling over, Preeta sighed with contentment as she looked at the ridiculously good-looking man next to her. They had moved back to their bedroom after their activities filled with passion and love. Here she was looking at a sleeping Karan who looked extremely peaceful and handsome as always. She stared at him and admired him while smiling. She couldn't believe that they were finally together and happy.

They had their little family going on and it was so perfect.

She caressed his hair, leaned down and kissed his head and said

"I love you love"

"I love you too baby doll", he whispered

Preeta got startled because she thought he was sleeping.

"Oh your wake?,since when? I thought you were still sleeping.

"Since a few minutes; come here", he pulled her to him and started kissing her gently.
She responded immediately but then remembered that they have slept in and its probably late.

"Honey we can't "

"Why?, I want to make love to you again "

"I would love too but Dianne and Harsha will be here anytime soon; and am not ready to listen to her shit so get up". She pulled him out of bed and went to shower together and of course Karan got his way and they ended up spending more time in the shower than they intended to.

As soon as they got to the dinning table; they were shocked to see Dianne and Harsha Karan, they expected them early but not this early.

"Finally, you got tired and you came, I was a few seconds to come get you. We came at seven and its nine. Little Karan here was excited to see his parents, and wanted to come to your bedroom but I declined him"

Preeta looked at her amusingly

"What?"

"Am  sorry we slept in".

"Apology accepted"

Little Karan came to greet his parents. Preeta hugged him and so did Karan.

Dianne looked at them emotionally yet happy at the same time. Seeing her friend with her little family made her happy. She really felt happy for them.

Their son was taken by his nanny because the elders had some stuff to talk about.

After seeing that the boy and nanny were gone, Dianne asked.

"So how was dinner last night?"

They looked at her blushing but Karan composed himself and said

"It was great"

"Good. Anyway today is Saturday and Preeta does our plan still stand?"

"What plan?" Karan asked

"Yes" Preeta answered as they replied at the same time

"We have a girl's day out, just us and a few girlfriends", Dianne told him.

"Cancel it out" Karan ordered them

"What?"

"Why?"

"Listen girls, am kindly requesting that you to please cancel it". He then turned, held Preeta's hand and said.

"Babydoll; I forgot to tell you yesterday but I met an old friend of mine and invited him here. I want to introduce you to him and promised to be here later in the afternoon. I wanted us to have lunch with us please", he pleaded.

Dianne got pissed the moment she saw how softly they were looking at each other. She just knew Preeta was gonna accept Karan's proposal.

"Am sorry", Preeta told Dianne.

"If I didn't love you, I would've hit both of you", Dianne told them.

Preeta then left, leaving both Dianne and Karan alone. And this is what Karan had wanted because he had something to discuss with Dianne.

"I want you to help with something but I don't want Preeta to know".

"What is it?"

"Her birthday is coming up soon and I want to do something big, something very special. You think you can help me". I know it's coming in two weeks but I need to start preparations soon. I already called Sophia yesterday and asked to book us a place.

"Count me in"

"Thank you".

"Anytime. Umm! Karan just between us; what are you planning on giving her as a gift?

"That my secret, am sorry I can't tell anyone not even my brother".

"Your bad" she said jokingly.

"Hahaha, I see what your trying to do but am not telling".

Dianne gave up after so much pleading and they started joking; talking about different things here and there.

Out of the blue Dianne asked how his injury is going and if he will be in line to be selected for the upcoming matches

"I got the best doctor around so yes am optimistic however after these upcoming series; am going to retire"

"Why?, your one of the best players and still young. You can't be thinking about retirement".

"I am, it's what I want"

"Why?; from what Preeta told me, she said cricket is your life so why abandon it"

"That's not my life; my life is Preeta and my son. They are the reason am doing this. I want to concentrate on them, spend as much time as possible with them. My dear son needs me, I want to be a present dad; someone he sees everyday and Preeta too. I came to a realization that those two are my priority besides I have my own company I opened up a year ago and it also needs my attention".

"So in short, you want to start a family with Preeta".

"Absolutely"

"Wow! That's great to hear, you guys deserves happiness besides you always live as a family".

"While here but am sure when we get back to India; it will be the same story and am tied of being away from them, so that will change soon".

"Awww! I never thought you could be that person to finally settle down"

"Meeting and loving Preeta Arora changed everything for me. I feel responsible than ever and want to finally do the right thing".

"Wait, are you gonna ask her to marry you? And when will that be?"

"I gotta go" Karan left in the hurry as Dianne tried to stop him

Dianne on the other hand smiled. She got up to go find Preeta.

She found her preparing her room and doing some cleaning. Preeta never let's maids enter her room and study. Those two places are out of bounds for anyone except her, Karan and a few family members.

Dianne got to work and started helping Preeta as they talked about different stuff and they were still talking Preeta got a phone call from Sophia and since Dianne was by her side she put it on speaker so they both get to hear what she had to say in case it involves work.

"Hey babe, what's up? Callin' so early. Am here with Dianne"

"Hi girls, this is for social or chit chatting, I got news for you. Is Karan with you because this concerns both of you".

"News!, good or bad?"

"Maybe both. Is Karan there?"

"No, he isn't but whatever it is, I will inform him. He just left to pick a friend".

"The police informed us last night. Tried calling both your phones but they were 
switched what were you doing? " Called so many times, even tried Dianne's and it was off but then I remembered that she never sleeps with her phone on"

"They were busy", Dianne whispered as she received unimpressive look from Preeta.

"What? Is it true...

Preeta shut her up and instead asked Sophia to tell her the news. She was feeling uneasy though.

"It's Prithvi and Sherlyn"

"Sherlyn? Isn't she the bitch that was married to Karan's brother? And Prithvi the guy you were supposed to get married too", Dianne asked

"Yes", both Sophia and Preeta answered at the same time

"What about them?, I didn't think I would ever hear their names. What did they did this time again?" Preeta said as her mood changed.

"They are in police custody".

To say that Preeta was shocked would be an underestimate. She was seated but stood up and starting pessing here and there without saying anything.
She started getting all those bad memories about Prithvi and Sherlyn; people she had perhaps forgot. Tears started coming and Dianne got concerned

"Preeta, are you okay, you went quiet" Sophia told her

"She cleaned off her tears: composed herself and asked Sophia if it were true.

"Yes it is, Rishabh called me yesterday. I met up with him and we went to the station to make sure. The police called him to confirm if it's really them especially when Sherlyn was his ex-wife".

"I don't know what to say but we are going to get the first flight to India tomorrow. I will let Karan know as soon as he gets here".

"But isn't that too early, thought you will be here as early as Tuesday, tomorrow is Sunday and besides as far as I know; they won't be moved until they are sentenced. I suggest you don't rush".

"Its already decided. We are coming back tomorrow. I know Karan will agree with me about this".

"Won't it have an effect about both of you, I mean Karan hurt you believing their lies. Won't those memories hurt you", Dianne asked and Sophia agreed with her.

"Our love and relationship is past that; I know it's something that won't ever change or go away but him and I have come from a far to let those two affect our lives again. Karan and I are in a better place more than ever and I am never gonna let it change because he's the love of my life. What happened is in the past and he was a victim just as I was and those that tried to destroy our lives will to face the consequences no matter how hard they will. Those two deprived my son of knowing his dad soon, they tried to destroy my friendship with Karan, tried to murder the people I cared about. I don't wanna think about it to much but am glad they are finally where they belong", Preeta said fearlessly.
After talking to Sophia, she got her phone and dialled Karan's number; it was ringing but he wasn't picking and she wondered why.

On the other hand, Karan was driving with his little boy. He took him along to let the ladies do their work peacefully.

He soon reached his friend and he popped into the car, but didn't go at his place immediately instead they went to pick a few stuff before they went home.

When Dave got into the car; he was surprised to see a little boy who looked exactly like Karan.

"Karan, is this your son?"

"Yes".

"He's such a handsome boy".

"Well whom do you think he got those looks from? From me The Karan Luthra"

"Hahaha, my friend your right".

Dave greeted the little boy and asked him a few questions which he answered well

"He's smart too?"

"Am smart and so is his mother which means we get a smart child too".Karan said jokingly and Dave just smiled.

"I can't wait to meet her".

"Here" Karan got his phone and showed him a photo that had him and Preeta

"Wow!, you didn't lie when you said, she's beautiful. Congratulations my dear friend"

"Thank you. You should also find one. Life is too short my friend".

As he checked his phone; he realized he had two missed calls from Preeta so he hit the call button.

"Karan?"

"Yes babydoll, am sure I didn't hear my phone".

"Are you done with what you were doing because if possible come back immediately. I got something very important to tell you. Please hurry up", she sounded worried

"But are you alright, you sound worried".

"I am but please get here really quick".

"Okay love".

He then informed Dave that they must go home.

"Everything good?"

"I hope so".But the way Preeta sounded worried him, he hoped it was nothing.

They reached home almost a half an hour later.

Karan made Dave comfortable as he went to meet Preeta. As soon as he reached their bedroom, Preeta hugged him immediately and he did the same; he always makes  her feel safe. Dianne excused herself and left them alone to talk.

"What's the matter baby."

They sat down on the bed still holding each other's hands.

"I got a call from Sophia, she says Prithvi and Sherlyn are in custody".

Karan looked shocked, and happy at the same time.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes and I told her, we will get the first flight tomorrow".

"Definitely we are going home. I wanna see those criminals face to face. I destroyed our lives and then hid. Finally they are where they are supposed to be. Am very sorry love that I kinda of helped them in their plans when it came to you".

"Listen sweetie, I don't want to you apologize for this, yes it hurt me then but it's in the past now. You were a victim just as the rest of us. We are together and stronger now; we can't let those two ruin us again. I love you Karan, I love you very much". She hugged him again tightly.

"And I love you too babydoll. Anyway can we forget about this for now?, my friend is downstairs waiting for us".

"Lead the way".

They came hand in hand and found Dave and Dianne already deep in conversation.
