The New Cheerleader
(Saylor's POV)
The next day, I walked to class alone before any of the other girls got up. It took me five minutes to notice before I realized Jodi was following me. "Where are you going?" she asked.
"No where," I replied. "Don't worry about it."
Jodi caught up with me. "Sayels?" she asked.
"I'm going nowhere!" I said, rushing into my A.P. Science class.
I sat down and got out my homework. If she finds out, I thought to myself. I'm dead.
I looked up and solved the chemical equation on the board. Soon enough, it was time for me to go.
.....during lunch break.....
"Saylor!" Valerie yelled. "You came!"
"Of course," I replied, ruffling my pom poms. "I said I wouldn't miss the tryouts, and I'm not."
(Jodi's POV)
I walked to our table and sat down. Corki was reading a book, and Sun Hi and Dylan were talking to each other. "Hey," I said, getting all three to look at me. "Where's Saylor?"
Sun Hi shrugged. "She was walking to the gym I think," Corki said, still mindlessly reading her book. "But I don't really know, anyways I gotta study for my test."
I sighed. "But the only thing going on in there is the cheerleading tryouts," I muttered, before it hit me.
"OMG!" I yelled. "Guys, Saylor's trying out for cheerleading!"
Sun Hi's eyes got wide and Corki slammed her book shut. "We gotta go," I said to no one in particular, then we skidded down the hallways to the gym. This is what we saw.
"5, 6, 7, 8, and bam!" Valerie yelled, as she and Saylor did the same dance. "Saylor, you're a natural, I don't know why you've never done this before."
"I don't know," Saylor replied. "This is fun."
She and Valerie giggled and got back to work. I turned to Corki and Sun Hi. "Did that seriously just happen?" I asked them.
They nodded, and we broke out into song.
(Bold Italics- normal talking, Regular Italics- singing)
S: Why'd you think you got to be better?
Yeah, who said, who said that you need to go and change?

*music stops*
"Sorry," I muttered.
"Whatever," Saylor said, out of breath. "Guys, seriously, quit worrying."
"Okay," Sun Hi said unsurely.
We walked back to the lunchroom.
.....after school.....
Corki, Sun Hi, and I were in our dorm, doing homework, when Saylor burst through the door. "I made varsity!" she yelled excitedly.
"Great job," I said under my breath.
"Are you guys seriously mad at me?" Saylor asked.
"No," I replied.
Saylor looked at us in a weird way. "Whatever guys," she said. "Anyways, I'm sleeping over with Val and Heather, see you later!"
"Wait Saylor!" Corki tried to get out, but she was already gone.
"I'm gonna flunk another test!" Corki exclaimed.
"I'm sure you'll be fine," I told her.
"I don't know," Corki said.
"C'mon, Sun Hi and I will quiz you," I said, and we began asking Cork her questions.
(Saylor's POV)
"Hey Val!" I said excitedly as I entered her dorm room.
"Sayels!" she exclaimed. "Good to see you!"
I smiled. "Omg, Saylor," Heather said. "Who designed your skirt?"
"Oh, that?" I asked. "Jodi and I did that one together."
"That is, like, so sweet!" Val exclaimed.
"Yeah," I replied. "I can't help but think I forgot something, oh well!"
All three of us giggled. Valerie put on a movie, and we watched the whole thing. Halfway through, Heather fell asleep. Valerie smiled at me as the movie ended. "So," she whispered. "Are you excited about making varsity?"
"Very!" I replied, still whispering.
"I knew you'd be great," she said.
"Gosh, I feel like I forgot something back with the girls'," I said. "I think it was something to do with Corki."
Valerie shrugged. "I don't know," she replied. "Well, I'm going to go to sleep, beauty rest is important."
I giggled. "Kk," I replied, and tried to fall asleep.
But I couldn't. I couldn't remember what I forgot, and it was driving me crazy. I told Corki that I would always make time for her, but what was I making time for now? I didn't know.
I finally fell asleep around one a.m., and I still didn't know what I had forgot.
(Corki's POV)
And I can't believe Saylor forgot! Jodi and Sun Hi's quizzing was okay, but I was still super confused.
Saylor walked into the dorm after school the next day and started apologizing as soon as she entered. "Corki, I'm so so sorry," she said. "I just got excited about cheerleading, and completely forgot! Could we study tonight?"
"Aw, Sayels," I replied, giving her a hug. "Don't worry, the test isn't until tomorrow, and yes, we'll study tonight. It's okay, I understand, you just got excited."
Saylor and I studied all night, until she started coughing uncontrollably. "Saylor?" I asked, patting her back. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," she replied hoarsely. "But I think my voice has had it."
I smiled at her sympatheticly. "Let's stop," I said. "You need your voice for cheerleading tomorrow. I think I've got the hang of it now."
"Okay," she replied unsurely. "Are you sure?"
I nodded. "C'mon, I'm starting to get worried your sick," I said. "Why don't you get some sleep?"
She nodded.
.....the next morning.....
I woke up to Saylor coughing again. I patted her back until she stopped. She didn't look like Saylor. Her dace was pale, her cheeks were flushed. I pressed the back of my hand against her forehead. "Aw," I said. "Sayels, you've got a fever. I'm gonna wake up Jodi."
I walked over to Jodi's bed and gently shook her. "Jodes, get up," I said.
She woke up. "What?" she asked tiredly.
"Saylor's sick," I replied.
"So?" she asked.
"So, since the rule got changed, can't you take care of her?"
"No way, I'm not taking care of a traitor."
"It was one night Jodi, get over it."
"No, if you want someone to take care of her, you do it."
"I can't, I have the test."
"Well I'm not."
Saylor coughed from her sleeping bag. I walked back over to her. "I'm going to ask if I can go take the test early," I told Saylor. "Then I'll come and take care of you, how does that sound?"
"Awesome," Saylor tried to say, but it was barely a whisper.
"Here," I said, helping her up. "You cone sleep in my bed. It'll be more comfortable, and you're sick so I want you to be."
She nodded slightly. I covered her up with the comforter. Then I walked out the door, ready to face this test.
Okay, so, Saylor's a cheerleader! Good job mskyla123 for guessing that! And, just to let you know, things between Jodi and Saylor are going to get interesting. And, let's see if Corki can ace this test!... Or at least pass. Anyways, don't forget to comment and vote! Also, I'm going to try to get another chapter on here before I leave on Monday, but I'm not sure yet.
Thank you and Lacey!
