I'm So Scared

(Corki's POV)

"Ahh!" I said, and jumped out of my chair, and waking up Saylor.

"Corki?" she asked, not nearly as hoarse as she had been earlier.

"Sorry," I said. "I didn't mean to wake you up. I just got my test results. And this test counts for fifty percent of my grade."

Saylor sat up, and I sat next to her on the bed. "I'm afraid to look," I told her.

"Here, let me look," she offered, and I handed her my phone.

She frowned. "What is it?" I asked, panicking.

"I didn't even think you could get this," she replied sadly.

"What is it?!" I was now freaking out.

"How do you get a 102?" she asked, and I swear, if she wasn't sick, I would have slapped her.

But instead, I hugged her. "You did it!" she almost yelled. "I'm so proud of you!"

I hugged her. "Do you feel well enough to stay awake for a couple hours while I get the girls?" I asked.

She nodded, and I ran off to get Sun Hi and Jodi, they should be just coming out of the last class we share, and I was right. They were talking and laughing as they walked out. They ran into me. "Oh sorry!" Sun Hi said, helping me up. "Wait, did you leave Saylor alone?"

"For five minutes," I replied. "She said it's okay, now c'mon!"

I pulled them to the room and shut the door. Jodi glared at Saylor. "I still don't know what I did wrong," Saylor muttered.

"I got a 102!" I yelled, and Sun Hi and Jodi's eyes went wide.

They hugged me. "Corki, that's great!" Sun Hi said.

Saylor coughed from the bed and I was reminded of my job at the moment. I sat on the bed next to her, and she lay her head on my lap. "Can you sing?" she whispered.

"Of course," I replied.

Heart
Beats
Fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid
To
Fall?
But watching you stand
Alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away some how
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
One step closer
One step closer
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Saylor's breathing became even as I felt her forehead. "Jodi, can you hand me the thermometer?" I asked.

"Sure," she replied, rolling her eyes.

I put the thermometer in her mouth. When it rang and I took it out, I was happy. "Her fever's gone," I said. "But let's let her sleep, she still probably needs the rest."

Sun Hi nodded and Jodi scoffed. "Jodi, just shut up," I said, and her eyes went wide.

Saylor curled up closer to me. She began whispering something. "Jo, Jo, Jodi," she kept saying.

"Jodi, she wants you," I said. "Stop shutting her out."

"This isn't Frozen," Sun Hi said. "She's just Saylor, please Jodi, she needs you."

"She doesn't need me," Jodi replied. "She just needs Corki."

"Corki!" Saylor screamed in her sleep. "Jodi stop! Corki help me!"

Jodi motioned towards Saylor. "See?" she asked. "I'm taking a walk, see you guys later."

She walked out of the dorm without another word. I shook my head. Sun Hi sat next to Saylor, and rubbed her back. "Poor girl," she whispered. "She doesn't want any of this. She's just having nightmares."

"I know," I said. "But Jodi will be back soon, I know she will."

Sun Hi nodded. "Hey, I think I might have an idea to get XO-IQ back," she said. "But I'll tell you later."

I nodded this time. I soon fell asleep with Saylor still curled up close to me.

.....the next morning.....

(Saylor's POV)

I woke up feeling so much better! Thank goodness Corki and Sun Hi had been there for me. I still don't know what I did wrong to Jodi though. I mean, sure, I joined spirit squad, but it's not like I actually started being mean to XO-IQ.

I looked over at Corki and she was crying. I sat up quickly and looked at her. Her face was sheet white, and she was shivering as she whimpered. I shook her as gently as I could. "Corki," I said softly. "Corki, are you okay?"

"No," she whined. "I don't feel good Saylor."

I took one hand and put it on her forehead and put one on mine. She was burning up compared to me.

I rubbed her back. "You're burning up," I replied. "I think you have whatever I had. I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," Corki replied. "I'm just gonna sleep, why don't you get Sun Hi to take care of you and Jodi to take care of me. I know you're probably better now, but you still need to rest."

"Corki, how are you always on top of things?" I asked.

She giggled, then shrugged, as she snuggled deeper into her pillow. I walked over to Sun Hi's bed and shook her awake. "What's up?" she mumbled sleepily.

"Corki's sick," I replied. "Where's Jodi?"

I motioned to the empty bed. Sun Hi looked at it strangely. "That's weird," she said. "She never came back from her walk last night."

The door swung open without a knock. It was Ms. Diona and Caleb. Ms. Diona pulled Sun Hi into the hallway, and I pulled Caleb into a corner in the room. "What are you doing here?" I hissed.

"About that," he said. "Jodi's-"

"Jodi Mappa is missing," Ms. Diona said. "And no one knows where she is."

Haha, time for me to torture you. So the spoiler you got before will be in the next chapter. Don't forget to vote and comment!

Thank you and Lacey! :P
