I take a sip of my drink and shake my head. "No, I just feel bad for him. After all, if he really loves you, it'd be sad if he thought it was mutual all this time when it wasn't, right?" I give her a soft smile, "If you would like, I'm willing to accompany you when you go to talk to him. I have far too much free time and it's always nice to help out another girl."

The girl's eyes water. "Thank you so much, YN. I always knew you were a nice person. Even when we were little." Her eyes turn to saucers as she realizes she hasn't asked one thing about me.

She smiles lightly, "I'm sorry this has all been about me." She takes a sip of her tea. Once she realizes that we are out of conversation material she pipes up again to correct this error. "So, what about your love life?"

"Well there's a man that I love, but he doesn't notice me no matter what I do." I laugh lightly. "Of course, I've tried striking up conversations, I've approached him in person, hell, I've even tried belly dancing for him. It just doesn't work. I'm not his type, I guess."

Yui nods and finds herself lacking advice. "H- how long have you been in love with him?"

"It's been seven years now. And he's gone through a lot of women and has a girlfriend now. She's probably the one that he has ever been the most serious about. She's exactly his type."

"If he has a girlfriend-"

"I should give up?" A laugh leaps from my throat. "She doesn't love him! Why should I give up my love for that?!"

She's shocked into silence. And I laugh.

"Don't you think that she's in the wrong? She's occupying my space. Why must I sacrifice something?!" Although a smile is painted wickedly across my face, a tear slips down my cheek.

There was a time when I had changed my entire life for him. I had a new conservative wardrobe, a new humble job, and a new personality. I threw my whole life away. I replaced myself with some character. He looked at this character, pulled out her chair and asked her how her day was. But that was all. Even then it wasn't enough. He still chose other women over me. So, I went back to being my amazing self. If I was going to have my heart broken either way, I might as well have it broken with friends around me. Not as some stranger alone.

The door opens and suddenly closed and Yui gestures for me to look behind myself as if I was going to ask for her permission.

"Hello?" I ask, not quite remembering the face.

"YN, great, I thought you'd be here" It's Kenny. "We need to make a deal ASAP. Please come with me to my place." He sighs. "I'm busy and can't talk for long, so honestly I need you to come right now."

"Wait-"

"I mean it." His face becomes a bit more frightening and I stand.

"Sorry," I smile at Yui as if our exchange never occurred. "Something urgent came up apparently, so I'll have to be on my way. You understand, I mean... You know who this is..."

She nods understandingly. "I hope everything is alright."

I nod. "Thank you." Not wanting to leave things on a bad note in case I need to use her in the future, I gather the small girl up in a quick hug. "I'll see you around, Yui."
