Chapter 7

In the dense, leafy recesses of Jurassic World, nestled within a shadowy corner of the pack's den, a massive white creature lay curled up, its soft breath rising and falling rhythmically as it slept soundly. Her powerful, muscular body stretched out, covered in scales that glistened faintly in the dim light filtering through the trees. The only movement was the occasional flick of her tail, brushing against the ground as she slumbered.

Her eyes, two large blue orbs, remained shut, eyelids twitching in the dream-filled haze. Nearby, a smaller raptor with striking blue markings on his head and tail, his feathers a deep, vibrant shade of blue, stood watching her. His head tilted to one side, scrutinizing her sleeping form with an impatient gaze. This was Blue, the pack's youngest and most daring member, known for her quick reflexes and fiery personality.

Blue's sharp talons clicked against the ground as she padded closer to the slumbering monster. With a sly grin, she prodded her companion, the larger, gruff raptor with dark, gray-green scales, his size towering over hers. He shot her a warning look from beneath a furrowed brow, his thick tail flicking from side to side in quiet irritation.

"Wake up, lazy bones," Blue teased, her voice a light, mocking chirp. "Owen won't let us sleep forever!"

The larger raptor snorted, his snout twitching as he leaned forward and sniffed the air near the white creature. The heavy scent of the pack and the warmth of the morning surrounded him, but he didn't want to disturb her rest. Despite his teasing, he knew better than to challenge the mighty white monster. She was the pack's leader, and the one whose strength and cunning had shaped their survival. But as the gray raptor, named Echo, stood watching her, an edge of frustration rippled beneath his calm exterior.

"Back off, Blue. I wanna sleep too," Echo grumbled, swishing his tail back and forth. "Owen won't be happy if we're all groggy."

Blue rolled her eyes, a small growl of annoyance rumbling deep in her chest. "She's not gonna get up any faster just because you're grumpy," she muttered, flashing Echo a quick, mischievous glance. "But fine, let's wait a little longer. We'll go hunt once she's up."

Just as she said that, a low rumble escaped from the white monster's chest, and her massive jaws shifted slightly, as if in response to the sounds of her pack's antics. Echo stilled, his muscles tensing slightly, his eyes narrowing in cautious anticipation. They knew better than to disturb her if she wasn't ready to wake. She was a force to be reckoned with.

The blue-eyed raptor's tail flicked one last time, and with a sigh, she settled down beside Echo, her back against the thick undergrowth, her gaze never leaving the sleeping leader. Both raptors, in their own way, understood that when the time came, they would need to move as one. The pack was a family—bound by blood, strength, and the will to survive.

And as the minutes ticked by, the air around them grew still, charged with the quiet tension of waiting. Eventually, the white monster would rise, and with her, the power of the pack would follow. Until then, they would remain watchful, resting but always prepared for the call to action.

In the distance, faintly, the sounds of the human park could be heard: the crackling of the monorail, the chatter of tourists, and the distant hum of machinery that powered Jurassic World. But here, deep in the pack's territory, it was a different world—a world where the ancient rhythms of survival still held sway.

Blue's blue eyes closed for a moment, her body relaxing into the shadows as she waited. She didn't mind the wait. After all, once the white monster woke up, there would be no stopping them. And that thought filled her with anticipation.

SCENEBREAK

A heavy, snorting sound filled the air as a wild pig barreled down the trail, its hooves pounding the earth in frantic desperation. The scent of sweat and fear mingled in the air as it tore through the thick underbrush, only to be interrupted by the sudden thud of something much heavier.

From the shadows, a massive white beast, the leader of the pack, leaped out of the foliage with terrifying grace. Ivory, the indomitable predator, landed squarely in the pig's path, her claws extended in a flash of silver-white. The pig, caught off guard, squealed in panic as Ivory's jaws snapped shut around its body. But before she could finish her kill, a voice echoed through the clearing.

"That's good, Ivory, but take it easy," Owen called out with a grin, his voice full of approval.

The massive raptor paused for a moment, her jaws still clenched around the struggling pig. She turned her head, acknowledging the command but unwilling to let go just yet. Meanwhile, another member of the pack—a smaller, bloodied raptor—looked up, her sharp blue eyes meeting Owen's as she tugged free from the pig's carcass and slid out of the way. It was clear that this raptor was still shaken from the attack, but she was quick to regain her footing. This was the wild world of Jurassic World, and even the fiercest of hunters needed time to heal.

The others followed suit, emerging from the shadows one by one. There was the blue-striped raptor, agile and quick, pressing up against the indomitable one's flank. Owen smiled, watching his pack move in perfect synchronization.

"That's damn good, you four," Owen called out, reaching into his bag and pulling out a large rat. He held it out toward Ivory, his trusted leader. "That's what happens when you listen."

With a swift and practiced motion, Ivory snatched the rat from the air, her jaws snapping closed with precision. The others weren't forgotten, either. Owen tossed morsels of food toward them, ensuring everyone in the pack was fed. The tension in the air began to ease as their bellies filled.

Owen's eyes softened, his smile widening as he gave the command, "Alright, everyone, focus. Let's go."

The pack's instincts kicked in. Each raptor shifted with effortless coordination, scattering across the dense terrain. Ivory, however, lingered. She remained where she could watch Owen, her keen eyes never leaving his form as he lay down on her belly.

From the distance, a strange man approached. His scent wafted over with the familiar notes of money and alcohol. His footsteps were slow, confident, and his voice carried a smug satisfaction.

"Owen," he said with a sneer, approaching the raptor trainer with a sort of lazy arrogance. "I was starting to think I hired the wrong guys, but damn, you got them eating out of your palm."

Owen's response was calm but tinged with a dry humor. "You came on a good day. It's not usually a happy ending." His eyes flicked over to Ivory, who was now still, her muscles tense under Owen's touch. Her body vibrated with a quiet power as she watched the stranger with a gaze sharp as a blade.

The man chuckled, oblivious to the tension in the air. But Ivory, well aware of the unspoken language between her pack and Owen, didn't appreciate the man's presence. Her nostrils flared as she sniffed, catching his scent once more.

Ivory growled softly, her teeth flashing white in the low light. "I don't like that man. His stinks," she muttered under her breath.

Blue, standing nearby, nodded in agreement. "Neither do we, but we gotta put up with it. He's our alpha's boss," Blue remarked, her blue-striped tail twitching in subtle irritation.

The rest of the pack remained still, their eyes trained on the stranger, sensing their leader's discomfort. But for now, they remained silent, knowing that Owen's decisions guided them, and their loyalty was unshakeable.

The strange man, not noticing the raptor's gaze, chuckled again and waved dismissively, as though he had nothing to fear. "Anyway, I've got a few more 'requests' for you," he said with a smirk.

Ivory's claws dug into the ground slightly, a low rumbling growl emanating from her throat, but she kept herself still. She trusted Owen, and he knew how to handle these situations, but that didn't mean she had to like it. It was clear that the pack had its own thoughts on the matter, and Ivory's was the strongest. She wasn't one to let any threat go unchallenged.
