Ruhana looks at her daughter, she isn't in a proper mental state. Manvi looks at her parents who are standing at her side and others are standing at her in-law's side. Everyone wanted her to go back with her in-laws.

"Samaaj ke khilaf jaana sahi nahi hota hai beta.." one of the lady said.

"Ghar chali jao.. Mauka do apne pati ko uske saath hi toh puri zindagi guzarni hai tumhe"

All those sounds began to echo in her ears. She closes her eyes for a moment and that violence, torture, and beating flashed in front of her eyes. She screams aloud and pushes him away "nahi... nahi... nahi"

Tears brim down her eyes, and Ruhana and Vineet ran to her. "Mannu.. Mannu shant ho jaa.." Ruhana caressed her head..

"Mujhe nahi jaana.. Nahi jaana aur bardasht nahi hoga" she said and Ruhana hugs her tightly.

Vineet passed a deadly glare to Deep "Sun liya?? Aur dekh liya aap logo ne... isse pehle main police bulau aap log nikal jayie yahan se" he shouted.

Ruhana takes Manvi to the room and makes her lie on the bed. She was about to leave to handle the situation outside but Manvi held her hand frightened. She was shivering badly, Ruhana slowly kept her head on her forehead and calms her down by gently rubbing "nahi bhejenge wapas... iss baar mumma papa koi galti nahi karenge promise"

A satisfied smile appears on her face, Ruhana picks up the medicine and gives it to her as she needs to sleep. In a few seconds, Manvi feels dizzy and closes her eyes.

Ruhana leaves the room closing the door, she slapped Deep for what he did a minute ago "khelna aata hai na tumhe deemag ke saath? Ab aur nahi! Bahut mental aur physical torture kar liya tumne use ab aur nahi" she shouted on top of her voice.

"Ruhanaji.. Aap iss tarah mere bete pe haath nahi utha sakti hain.." Yamini tries to threat.

"Kya karengi aap?? Kuch nahi kar sakti hai aap samjhi! Na meri beti wapas jayegi aur na Vineet FIR wapas lega... yahi sochke aaye they na aap log... Manvi ko hum bhej denge aur phir aap usko torture karenge majburan beti ke pyaar mein le lenge FIR wapas.. Par aisa kuch nhi hoga.. Nikalo mere ghar se" Ruhana shouted and pointed towards the exit.

"Ye aisa nahi jayegi Ruu.. police ko phone karta hun main" he said and takes out his phone. They get scared hearing him for a moment.

Deep said "kar lijiye phone lekin kuch nahi bigad payegi police mera yaad rakhiye badnaami aapki beti ki hi hogi"

Vineet looked up at him "badnaami? jo karne mein tumne koi kasar chodi nahi hai isse zyada kya hi hoga? agar tumhe lagta hai tumhari in dhamkiyon se main darr jaunga toh aisa nahi hone waala hai Deep. tumhe aur tumhare parivar ko court tak ghasitunga main jitne khoon ke aansu meri beti royi hai na ussse zyada tum royege.. yeh ek baap ki shapat hai" he warned him

"samdhiji agar hamari ijjat samaaj mein kharab hui toh aapki beti ki bhi hogi!" Ankush said trying to convince him

Vineet looked at him "iss darr se apne parivar ke saath khudkhushi kar lun? nahi iss galatfehmi mei toh rehna hi mat tum sab nahi chahiye aise samaaj mein ijjat jo galat karne waalo ke saath khade rehta hai" he shouted and pushed him out of the house. He fell down on the ground missing his balance but he deserved this.

"aapki himmat kaise hui mere pati ko aise dhakka deke bahar karne ki?" Yamini glared at him.

Ruhana instantly yelled "aapne meri beti ko ghar se nahi nikala tha?"

Yamini remained silent. Ruhana shouted "nikal jao yahan se aur dubara mere ghar ke aas paas nahi dikhna samjhe! meri beti tum sabke saath nahi jayegi"

"jaa rahe hai lekin main phirse wapas aaunga apni patni ko lene" Deep said with confidence and left with his family.

Ruhana stared at the neighbors "Aap log.. Bas aa jaate hai salah dene.. Tab kyun nahi aaye jab hum Manvi ko ghar laaye they.. Usse pucha aap logo ne beta ye sab kaise hua?? Tum thik ho??" she had enough of their nonsense.

She moves to the secretary and said "Aapki bhi beti hai na?? Kal agar aapki aankhon ke saamne uska pati usko belt se maare... aur aapki beti tadap rahi ho toh kya aap kahenge ek aur mauka de pati ko??"

He lowers his gaze, she asked "Chaliye.. Maine bhej diya apni beti ko par aap log vishwas dila sakte hai mujhe inn logo ka lalach khatam ho jayega?? Phirse uspe haath nahi uthayenge..? Haan?"

They remained silent, Ruhana smiles sarcastically "ab aap logo ke paas jawab nahi hai! Lekin tab bahut kah rahe they bhej do...are ho gayi galti humse maa baap hai bhagwaan nahi"

Vineet calms her down by placing his hand on her shoulder, he said "agar aap log hamara dard samajh nahi sakte na toh iss tarah uske namak bhi mat chidkiye... humhe apni beti ko sambhalna hai jayie yahan se"

Chintu enters the house, Ruhana eyed him and he was holding a plate in his hand. He said "Chachi.. Manvi Di ka favoutire maine banaya hai main jaake khiladun unhe?"

Ruhana smiles at him, he is just 18 but very much matured. "Aap logo se zyada samajh iss bache mein hai... Manvi se khoon rishta nahi hai par insaniyat ka hai! Isse hi sabak seekh lijiye kuch... sirf isne hamara saath diya hai! Jaanta hai kya sahi aur kya galat" she said.

Chintu didn't find them and fumed in anger "Acha hua aapne unn logo ko bhaga diya... warna bahut maarta main unko.."

Vineet caressed his head and Chintu goes to Manvi's room. Everyone leaves the house and Ruhana sits down on the couch with a thud. Tears escape from her eyes, life has been tough but she didn't know it will be so cruel to them.

Vineet sits down beside her and held her hand in his. She keeps her head on his shoulder and they cry over the faith of their daughter. She said "Vineet... kaise sab thik hoga?? Kya iss duniya mein insaniyat bachi nahi hai??"

"Maan saamman ijzat sabse upar hoti hai.. Insaniyat baad mein aati hai! Bina matlab ke koi kisi madad nahi karta hai" He replies.

She looks up tohim and asked "lekin koi toh hoga na toh hamari madad kar sake kaise inn sabse hamari mannu ko bahar nikalna hai!"

"Mujhe nahi pata Ruu... mujhe bas itna pata hai chahe kuch ho jaye hamari beti wapas uss ghar mein nahi jayegi" he said determinely.

She takes a deep breath and composed herself. She had enough of her crying it was time to be strong and console her daughter.

Chintu comes out of the room and said "Chachi.. Di soh rahi hai maine unko disturb nahi kiya ye parathe maine uske liye banaye hai unhe bahut pasand hai na aap unhe khila dena jab wo uthengi"

Ruhana smiles lightly at him "thik hai" she agreed and Chintu leaves the house.

Ruhana moved to the temple and lit the diya. She folds her hand and said "aap hi rasta dikhayi yeh log phir aa jayenge sabke saath aur main iss tarah apni beti toote bikharte har din nahi dekh sakti"

Whereas, somewhere in the chawl. A man in his early 30s enters the chawl, he moves to the door and knocks hard "o... chamiya"

"Ye dekho phir aa gaya chamiya ka aashiq" the lady commented.

He looks at her and said "aap kaho toh aapka bhi aashiq ban sakta hun main?"

"Besharam hai ye ladka" the lady and he laughs hearing her.

The owner of the room enters the door, she was in a saree and stared at him "phirse idhar??"

"Jidhar tu udhar main" he said, she pulls him inside and closes the door.

"Maine mana kiya na tereko nahi aane ka.. Sab log pata hai kya sochte hai?" she asked scared.

"Apun ko farak nahi padta hai.. Ye papers sign kar" he said taking out some papers from his bag.

She held them with trembling hands and he keeps his hand on her shoulder "bharosa rakh.. Tere bhale ke liye hi hai! Apna nahi toh tera andar jo pal raha hai uske baare mein soch.. "

She smiles and signs the papers. She hands him back and asked with teary eyes "kyun kar raha hai apun ke liye ye sab?? Mere paas toh paise bhi nahi hai tujhe dene ke liye"

"Insaniyat... farz aur mera karam" He said, she was touched with his words and hugs him. Just then the door opens.

Her husband enters and shouts "besharam aurat!! Mere peeche gair mard ke gale lagti hai!!" he was about to hit her but the first person held his hand.

"Door rehna.. Teri patni nahi hai aajse wo" He shouted.

"Kya bakwaas kar raha hai?" he asked.

He takes the papers and shows him "ye hai talaak ke kagaaz... isme likha hai chamiya ko tujhse khatra hai isliye isko divorce mil chuka hai! Tere sign ki bhi zaroorat nahi padi.."

"Iss dusre aadmi ke liye tune mujhe fasaya.." he shouted.

She gets angry and slaps on his face "Abe ooo.. Sharabi mawali.. Der raat ko sharab peeke ghar aata hai apun ko maarta peetta hai.. Jo kamati hun uda deta hai! Ye bhala insaan hai samjha itne mahino se sabki gaali kha raha hai sirf mujhe tujhse azaad karane ke liye samjha"

His anger raised more, and he held the collars of the first man and threatened him "meri biwi ko mere khilaf kiyaa... kaun hai be tu..."

He smiles lightly "Are bhai... hinsa nahi karte hai.. Chamiya kaise rehti hai tu iske saath?"

"Majburi thi.." she replies.

He stared at him and said "majburi nahi darr..."

The inspector comes and arrests him. "Acha hua aap aa gaye inspector sahab.. Ek lawyer pe haath uthaya isne.. Achi khasi saza dena"

He is being dragged while Chamiya folds her hands in front of him "dhanyawad aapka vaakil babu.. Rishta nahi hai aapse par aapne bahut madad ki meri"

He puts her hands down "ye mera kaam hai! Agar aapki beti hui na toh usko sehna mat sikhana... aur shaadi karo toh achi tarah se pata kar lena wo tumhari beti ke layak hai bhi ya nahi.."

She nods yes. She takes off her gold bangles and gives them to him. He refuses to take it "nahi... tum khush rahogi yahi meri fees hogi"

She smiles and he leaves from there.

He arrived his home and saw media gathered. He sighed in disappointment as he hates to share about his cases with them. He moved to the back door and entered the house.

The maid was about to open the main door. He said "are kaki kya kar rahi ho marwaogi mujhe"

She smiled "yeh log kabse aapka wait kar rahe hai aap case jeet gaye na"

"kal tak toh mujhe hi gaali de rahe they hypocrites kahike.. Jaane do kuch der mei chale jayenge main office mein hun aap mera khana banake chali jayie shyam hone ko aayi hai ghar pe aapke bache intezar bhi kar rahe honge" he said with a smile on his face.

She shook her head positively and he walks away from there.

She prepared the food and takes the plate to his study room. She places it on desk and asked "ek baat puchun?"

"pucho kaki" he said while taking sliding the footplate towards himself.

"aap shaadi kyun nahi karte kabtak mere haath ka khana khayenge?" she asked

He laughed hearing her words "dahej milega?"

She smiled at his comment.

"batayie na" she questioned again.

"waqt kahan hota hai mere paas kaki? 24 ghante in files, court, police station mei laga rehta hun main. Ab aap bekar ki baatein chodiye aur apne ghar jayie maine cab kar di hai book aapke liye" he said showing his phone to her.

"main chali jaati na.. Auto se" she replied

"mujhse behes mat kijiye main sirf court mein ladta hun" he glared at her. She smiles and ruffles his hairs lightly.

She leaves and he continues eating his food. He thought about the person whom he meet at the police station that day. He checks online but there wasn't any news on ongoing dowry case currently. He wondered if the father managed to register the case in the court.
