Manvi was upset as Deep wasn't doing anything, he was just ignoring and making excuses. She felt her dreams were broken, did he pretend to be a perfect life partner in front of her parents? Is he involved in everything that his parents and sister are doing with her? She looks at her parents who were sitting in front of her, did her parents face a misconception by choosing him? She takes a deep breath, no.. he hadn't done anything wrong it's just his family who is greedy. He had never raised his voice against her. He hadn't forced her nor ever treated her as an outsider. 

She thought she might be thinking too much and decides to wait a few more days in the hope he will convince his mother.

It was Sunday morning, and Ruhana was inside the kitchen preparing morning breakfast. Vineet enters the kitchen and places his hands on her waist from behind. "Good morning," he said.

"Kya kar rahe ho Vineet.. Beti ghar par hi hai" she said.

"Toh? Baat toh aise kar rahi ho jaise uski shaadi se pehle maine tumhe aise hug nahi kiya hai uske saamne" Vineet said

Ruhana smiled hearing him "Subah subah bas yahi sujhta hai tumhe.. Ye nahi ki thodi madad kardo meri" she complained.

"Kar toh raha hun" he said and placed a soft kiss on her neck.

"Offo chodo bhi.. Manvi uthne waali hogi" Ruhana said.

"Are aaj Sunday hai toh der hi uthegi" Vineet replied.

Manvi enters the kitchen rubbing her eyes "Good morning..." she said.

RuVi parted away from each other hearing her voice. Manvi fully opens her eyes and hid her smile but didn't miss the chance to tease her parents "kya baat hai.. Subah subah hi.."

Vineet smiled at her "beta.. Aaj sunday hai itni jaldi uth gayi?" he asked in sarcastic way.

"Papa.. aap bhool rahe ho meri shaadi ho chuki hai ab sunday ko bhi jaldi uthne ki aadat ho chuki hai mujhe" Manvi replied innocently.

Ruhana glared at Vineet and raised her eyebrow. He pretends to help Ruhana prepare the breakfast but Manvi knows the reality.

"Uff papa.. Carry on main bas paani peene aayi thi" she takes out the water bottle from the fridge and walks out of the kitchen.

She smiles seeing that, her father has been an inspiration for her in many ways, especially the way he loves Ruhana. She had expected the same from Deep but unfortunately, he had just shown his care to her not love.

Ruhana comes out of the kitchen and forwards the breakfast to her. She was lost in her own thoughts and didn't realize her mother's presence beside her.

Ruhana looks at her and said "mannu..."

Manvi came out trance of her thoughts and plastered a smile on her face. She held the plate and began to eat the food. "Kya soch rahi thi?" Ruhana asked.

"Kuch nahi mumma.. Papa aapse kitna pyaar karte hai na" she said admiringly the scene she had witnessed a minute ago.

Ruhana understands, she sits down beside her and smiles "haa.. Lekin ye pyaar pata hai kab hua?"

Manvi nods in no..

"Shaadi ke 2-3 mahine baad" Ruhana replied.

"Really?" she said surprised.

"Yes.. hamari shaadi na bahut jaldbaazi mein hui thi! Ek dusre ko zyada janne ka mauka nahi mila.. Shaadi ke baad humne ek dusre ko samjhane ki koshish ki.. Phir hote hote ho gaya pyaar.." Ruhana said remembering the past.

"Aur na hota toh?" Manvi asked.

"Toh bhi shaadi toh nibhani hi thi.. Lekin mujhe vishwaas tha apne maa baap unhone jise mere liye chuna hai wo best hi hoga! Chahe parivar saath de na de Vineet mera saath hamesha dega aur aisa hua hai... jab tum paida hui thi gharwalo ko acha nahi laga sabko umeed thi beta hoga" Ruhana exclaimed.

"Phir...?" she asked

"Phir kya?? Tere papa ne ghar chod diya bina kuch soche samjhe.. Unka kehna tha jis ghar mein beti ke liye pyaar nahi uss ghar mein rehna wo zaroori nahi samjhta.." Ruhana said tapping her cheek lightly.

"Maine matlab hamesha pareshan kiya" she said.

Vineet comes out of the kitchen and places Paratha on her plate. "Nahi.. tumne humhe ek naya rasta dikhaya tha... hum apni zimmedari behtar samjhe!" he said ruffling her hair lightly.

Manvi smiles, Ruhana questioned "tere aur Deep ke beech sab thik hai na?"

"Haa.. unhone hi kaha aap dono ke paas rehne ke liye" she lied crossing her fingers behind her.

Ruhana's phone rings, she picks up and it was from her friend "haan Suhani bolo.. Aaj? Nahi main nahi aa paungi"

Manvi said "offo mumma Suhani aunty ke yahan pe pooja hai toh aapko jaana chahiye"

"Tujhe kaise pata?" Ruhana asked.

"Chintu hai mera khabri" Manvi replied.

She ends the call and said "Acha main jaungi toh tum dono kaise manage karoge?"

"Hum kar lenge... tumhare liye lunch banake rakhenge kyun Manvi?" Vineet asked.

Manvi agrees "haan mumma aap jao"

Ruhana smiles and goes to the room to get ready. Finally, she will be getting off from household work for a day.

"Mere aane se pehle ghar mein sab kaam khatam ho jaana chahiye" she shouted from the room.

"Haa ho jayega mumma" Manvi assured her.

Ruhana gets ready and soon leaves the house.

Manvi sweeps the hall while Vineet chops the vegetable for lunch. "Mannu.. Deep ko phone karke ghar bula le aaj shyam dinner ke liye" He said.

Manvi eyed him and thought of some excuse "papa.. Unhe na new project mila hai bahut busy rehte hai.. Late ho lautte hai ghar isliye toh mujhe yahan bheja kehne lage main tumhe waqt nahi de paunga toh apne ghar chali jao" she made up the story.

Vineet eyed her suspiciously "Acha?? Aur teri job?" He asked.

"papa wo project se mera manager bahut impress hua mujhse.. mujhe bonus dene waala tha par maine kaha mujhe chutti dede aap dono ke saath rehne ke liye" she again lied but felt guilty about it. She didn't want them to get worried about her.

"Acha..." he seems to be convinced hearing her.

The music was playing on the television, it was their favorite song. They left the work which they were doing and began to dance on it. Manvi hits herself with the table and the vegetable plate drops on the floor scattering it.

Vineet looks down and bit his tongue out. "Kaam badh gaya.." he said.

"Uff.. papa ye main saaf karti hun aap kuch aur kaam karlo" She said and picks it up. He smiles seeing her behaving so maturely and responsibly.

He goes to the kitchen while Manvi fixes everything the way it was. She then comes to the kitchen and helps Vineet in preparing the food.

He looks at her closely and remembers the teenager Manvi who use to sit on the kitchen slab.

"Papa... bahut bhook lagi hai jaldi banao na" she said impatiently..

"Beta do hi haath main mere.." Vineet said.

"Haan lekin mumma toh abtak sab bana deti thi.." She complained.

He takes out the maggie packet from the side drawer and prepares it. He hands it to her and said "jabtak main main course banata hun tum isse kaam chalao"

She held it and began to eat like a kid. Vineet smiles...

Manvi saw her father staring at her "kya dekh rahe ho papa?" she asked.

"Kuch nahi.." he denies and pats her head lightly.

By the time, Ruhana enters the house, and was surprised to see the house neat and clean.

"Are waah.. Aaj toh ek dum saaf suthra hai ghar mera.. " Ruhana said with a smile.

She hears their voices from the kitchen, she goes nearer and sees them preparing food. Manvi looks at the door and smiles "mumma"

Ruhana enters and hands them the prasad.

"Dekho Ruu... sab kaam humne kar diya" he said.

"So sweet... lekin khana khane layak bana hai na?? Ya main ambulance ka number nikal ke rakhu?" she asked teasingly.

Both father and daughter looked at her shockingly "haww... Ruu/mumma humne acha khana banaya hai" they said in unison.

Vineet takes her out and made her sit on the chair. Manvi comes after a minute and keeps the plate in front of her "khao..."

"Acha.. aaj meri baari hai" she gulps down her throat.

Manvi made a face.. "Mumma khao na.. Pehle jaisa nahi banati hun main ab" she said crossing her arms across her chest.

Ruhana smiles and tastes the food. Indeed, it was delicious "Waah beta.. Sasural jaake toh acha khana banana seekh gayi ho"

"Haan tumne bhi toh sasural mein seekha tha" Vineet replied.

"Ji nahi.. Shaadi se pehle meri mumma na mujhe train kar dia tha" she replied.

"Aapne bhi toh kiya tha mujhe.. Toh maine apne mayke mein seekha" Manvi said giving a hug to her from behind. Ruhana caressed her head and the trio had the food together. 

She was happy with them, she had forgotten the disrespect she got from the Deep family and was just enjoying being in the shelter of her parents.
