We have big news!

Y's in pre labor!
She's been instructed to stay in bed until the 25th. She doesn't really want to, but she has to.
Y: I'm being fed as much as I can in order to gain energy for my upcoming journey. I don't feel hungry. Help-
Oh come on Y-
Anyways, we're preparing to go to the hospital. Y's already packed her hospital bag— she packed it earlier this morning. I have to pack mine still. I'm working on it.
Y: I'm in a lot of pa- ow...
Yeah... since Y is just starting to have contractions, she's in a lot of pain and trying to keep calm. We have her on pain meds for now (don't worry, we checked with her doctor) and she has to take them every few hours to keep herself from screaming. But she still wakes up at night sweating and in pain.
Anyways, we're going to the hospital this Thursday and she's probably gonna have the baby this Friday.
Y: I hope my water breaks right now.
*everyone laughs*
Watch her water break right after she says that-
Y: I think labor's starting tonight. It's supposed to last over 24 hours for me right?
Well technically your early labor lasts three days. But yes, the big part is over 24 hours. So early labor will probably start tonight.
Y: Okay!
Anyways, we'll keep monitoring her and keep you guys updated-

Update: Y thinks she's in labor. Not to the point where she needs to go to the hospital, but enough to start the early stages of labor. She's in a very painful contraction right now.
Y: I've never been in so much pain in my life. And I've had wither sickness before.
Just breathe, Y. We'll figure it out.
Y:
Anyways, she's been very bored otherwise. Not much to do when you're bed-bound.
Y: I want to push her out but it's not time yet-
We also figured out that Y's baby isn't in the right position yet. So the doctor sent Y home with instructions to not push until the doctors can flip her. Which technically won't be for a few days anyways. Let's just be thankful the umbilical cord hasn't wrapped around her neck (yet, at least-) or else they would've had to deliver her tonight.
Y: I've still been trying to eat. It's come back up a few times since the contractions are so bad- but I'm not giving up. I just got a migraine and I don't feel good.
If we can just make it to the 25th without having to go to the hospital, that would be great. We do have another appointment today to check on the baby. The doctor is going to give Y an ultrasound and tell her what she needs to do.
Update: It's 2:08 p.m. and we've seen some signs that the water is going to break any day now. If it does, we'll probably wait another two days before heading to the hospital.
Y has been doing better with eating, although she still gets sick sometimes. The baby is kicking quite often now.
Y: I need as much energy as I can get.

1:37 a.m.
Y: I think my water broke.
Are you sure?
Y: Yep. I felt a little pop. But I can't go to the hospital yet. I'm feeling better though.
Yeah, weirdly enough Y's contractions stopped for a while. We need to wait for them to start again (and for her to keep having them frequently) before we can go to the hospital. We'll keep you guys updated.

11:03 p.m.
Y: Faith! Come quick!
What is it, sis?
Y: We need to leave. Now.
Wait, what? Is it time?
Y: Yep...
Okay. Let's go.
So contractions just got painful for Y again.
We're getting ready to leave now. I've never seen Y get so stressed out in her life. And I've been with her since before my birth.
Amethyst: Hey... how's she doing?
Y: Not the time, Amethyst-
Amethyst: I'm genuinely concerned for you.
She'll be okay, hon. You'll know when you and R. Quartz have a child.
Amethyst: First of all, how dare you Faith, second, what makes you think we're dating, he's not that special-
R. Quartz: I can hear you, you know~
Amethyst: O/////O
Aha! I knew it. So cute-
Amethyst: Faith!
Come on, I'm just teasing-
Y: Sis, PLEASE!
Okay, okay! Time to go. Take care of things while we're gone, okay?
Clematis: We will.

Update: 11:41 p.m.
We made it to the hospital. Almost immediately, Y collapses.
Y: Try walking in this much pain and then we'll talk.
Yeah, whatever.
Y's getting an epidural right now.
Y: Hopefully it works. I can't stand these contractions.
Y won't be able to walk around since her lower half is completely numbed, so we're gonna chill for a while. She's not sleeping now because she wants to enjoy the moments when she's not in pain.

~8/25/22~
So it's about 1:21 p.m. now.
Y: The epidural is working, I feel... good...
Yep. Y's high now. The epidural made her all loopy. I don't think she can eat right now since her lower half isn't working-
Okay. Never mind. I just asked the doctor and she can eat. Just not too much.
Y: I want to watch a movie.
Yep, you can tell she's a bit off.
Y: I can't feel my legs at all-
Anyways, we'll keep the news on the baby updated.

So it's about 3:00 a.m. and Y just got a nurse to flip her baby. She's starting to push now.
Y: It hurts...
The nurses are screaming at Y to push as hard as she can
You can do this sis!
Y: It feels like I'm gonna split in half...
Keep pushing, Y! You got this!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~3:17 a.m.~
Almost done, Y! You can do it!
Y: crying in pain
You did it! You gave birth! Oh, you're amazing!
Y: I... I did it...
Look at her! Look how beautiful she is!
Y: takes the baby gently, crying tears of joy
This is probably one of the most life-changing moments I have ever experienced.
Y: Hi there lil girl... hiii... it's crazy here, isn't it...?
Baby coos and smiles
I'm proud of you, sis. Congratulations.
Welcome, little Skye.
