Akuma P.O.V
I had no idea the tournament would continue, or that a team could consist of one person while the other was in intensive care.
After the maze, we had a day of break, everyone was worried about Aramis, and we were all prepared to kill Zenin for killing off our prince.
That was until the next day, when I saw him next to Aiko looking pretty bad, but still alive and standing.
I rushed him and gave him a hug. "I thought you were dead."
He laughed softly, and I could feel the vibration in his chest. "Well, I was lucky that the nurses here are pretty good, they stitched me up and cured the internal bleeding, but I'm still in a lot of pain. I can't really fight physically anymore, if I stretch, I could tear open the wound." He smiled at me. "At least your ok, did he hurt you?"
I shook my head, before heading back to Nosmas. He had an envelope in his hand.
"Looks like we aren't fighting this round." He said, and all ten of the teams tore open their letters.
In them was a bright yellow and purple sheet of paper, and every other paragraph was written with neon red and blue ink.
I see you have made it here, Care to play a game of fear?
I want you to get these items three, and after that come bring them to me.
Solve the riddles that I give, and you will truly know how to live.
Ok, first item to be found, "In the bed of eternal slumber you will find the remains of one born with the breath of flames"
Second item now! "The fae fairies are notorious for regenerating their wings, find a pair where the lullaby of death is what the trees sing"
Third item! Make it fast! "Sip it, and you will die, eight legs hidden from the sky, in the dark with rocks is where I lie, where am I?"
The first four to get these and bring then to me, the gift of continuing is what I give thee!
These trials will no doubt make you yell and scream, run it solo or as a team!
I hope you love my little game, do try hard not to be maimed.
Good luck to you all! Let's have a ball!
Oh, I almost forgot, how will you find me to give me what you brought?
"This is a place that your never alone, it's where all roads lead to, try not to roam!"
Good luck and have fun! Now hurry! RUN!!!!!
Nosmas nodded, before grabbing my hand and sprinting off.
"Where are we going?!" I shout at him.
"We are getting the first item. The bone of a dragon born, afterwards, we need to find the Haunted Forrest, and finally, the den of a WebWeaver. It's simple riddle solving." He smiled at me before pulling me away.
Aramis P.O.V
THIS WAS THE STUPIDEST THING IVE EVER SEEN!!
I mean, it didn't even require magic, but did require physical exertion.
"The first riddle, is it to find a bone dragon?" Aiko asked me, to which I shook my head.
"Dragons are hatched, it's likely a dragon born, but I don't know where to find its remains." I sighed, after being stabbed, I never really felt like myself.
"A dragon born? Those humanoid dragon things? There's a burial section of those guys by the Gerald House Tower. Let's go." She took my hand and we ran off.
Akuma P.O.V
I couldn't figure out if something was my fault or not...Aramis almost died, for me, right? I'm sure he'd do it for anyone, but it was as if he was fighting for his own life along side my own.
We reached an open grave, which Nosmas jumped into, pulling out a massive femur.
"Item number one, a dragon born bone. Next is to find the fae fairy wings." I helped him out and we ran off.
I've always pushed him away from me, but he's always been there. But, he has his own problems to deal with, yet he's so focused on everyone else. How is he able to just, put people before him like that?
Before I knew it, something with a bright white and pink trail shot over our heads, before it crashed a mere ten feet in front of us.
As the light dimmed, Aramis and Aiko stood up.
"I'm sorry Aiko, my comet couldn't stabilize itself...I don't know what went wrong." He looked like he was going to cry. Did I do this to him?
"It's alright, I want you to have fun, alright? No matter what, I'll always be there for you, I won't leave." She smiled, putting her forehead against his.
Aramis smiled softly, before taking her hand and running off.
"Guys! Wait!" I yelled as I chased after them, leaving Nosmas behind as he pulled up his magic to research something.
Man, it was hard to keep up with the prince and the gumiho. They ran into the forest quickly, and by the time I caught up to them, they stood in the middle of a clearing.
"What's wrong?" I asked, and was met by them shushing me.
"Do you hear that?" Aiko asked, her ears twitching as the sound of branches being snapped was heard.
"Stay behind me." Aramis said, gently moving both of us behind him. "Summon: Sword of Rosaria!" He shouts as a green rapier formed into his fist, thorns lining the pommel and the rest of the blade itself. He proceeded to summon the shield I saw at the beginning of the school year.
"What's wrong?" I asked as he shuffled to follow the sound.
"I can't tell what's here, but I can sense it's great power." He whispers, before a swarm of bags rush us, quickly forming a vampire with the appearance of a young boy our age. Another swarm came from behind, forming a girl.
Aramis hissed "Bloody Vamps, why are you here?"
The boy walked towards us, baring his fangs in a smile. "The question is, why are you in my domain?" He hissed at Aramis, and he dropped his sword, clutching his head as he fell to the ground.
"Aramis!" Aiko tried to grab him, but was dragged away from him by the other vampire.
"Ah ah ah! Can't have you next to him can we? You might get hurt!" She laughed sadistically.
"Aramis would never hurt us, he's a good person." We both said.
"Are you sure? Take another look ladies." They both replied, and we turned around, to see Aramis with his sword back in his hand, but his eyes were black. All black.
"A-Aramis?" Aiko stuttered, walking back as he advanced. "There's still a chance everything will be alright!" He swiped at her, forcing her to leap into a tree. "Wh-what are you doing? Are you listening to me?" She shouted. "Equipment Magic: Manallyn Claymore!" A large purple sword appeared in both of her hands, as she swiped back towards him, their swords clashing.
"Fun isn't it? Watching lovers fight?" The vampires were standing on either side of me.
"No it's not! Stop this!" I screamed, tears forming in my eyes as Aramis used his duel wielding advantage, blocking with his shield and sending Aiko's sword backwards. Since she had to use both hands for her sword, he would attack with his rapier, forcing her to be in constant stage of dodging. "How are you doing this?" I asked.
"We're vampires, we can manipulate people using our insanity magic, it's how we get our prey. Since we can't seduce people yet, we are too young." They responded.
'Insanity magic? I might be able to counter that!' I thought. I focused hard on Aramis, and used my magic to try to shred the darkness attacking his mind. For a couple seconds, it worked and his black eyes turned normal. He saw Aiko, and told her to run, that he didn't want to hurt her. And then, I couldn't hold it. His eyes went black again and he started attacking Aiko.
I started to tear up. I was useless, because I couldn't beat vampire magic. They laughed at me, right before two shafts of orange and blue light pierced their hearts, turning them into coding, and sucking them into the lights. Nosmas came up behind me, hugging me as Aramis did the same to Aiko, sobbing.
Nosmas then pushed me away. "What were you thinking?! Walking off, you could've gotten hurt! Your lucky I showed up and transported those vampires away! I'm so glad you're safe!" He hugged me again. "I know how to find a fae."
He walked over to Aramis, patted his shoulder before kneeling. As he did so, he dug a hole, and whispered something into it. A puddle of black goo filled it, and Nosmas reached in, pulling out two pairs of shimmering lacy wings.
"Here, take it, now leave, before you hurt Akuma more." Was it my imagination, or did he glare at Aramis before taking my hand and running off.
Aramis P.O.V
Wow...way to hold a grudge. At least I attacked my Girlfriend instead of his.
Aiko took my hand, giving it a tight squeeze before heading off in a random direction.
"Where are we going?" I asked her, stopping for a bit to rub my stomach. "We don't even know where we are going!" I shouted at her, before covering my mouth as she glared at me.
"Y'know Aramis, I'm getting sick and tired of your attitude! You've been nothing but nasty this whole event! I know you're upset, your magic isn't functioning and you can't do anything physical but you're still really smart, now would you think four a bit?!" She screamed at me, tears running down her cheeks as her eyes grew red and puffy. "You're supposed to be fun! Not a total buzzkill!" She fell to her knees and continued to sob, hands covering her face.
I felt horrible. I made her cry...so I quickly rushed to her side, and hugged her.
"I'm sorry Aiko...I-I wasn't thinking...but let's try to solve it, ok?" I whispered, the wheels in my head turning as I considered every possible outcome. I wasn't as smart as Nosmas, but I may be able to figure it out.
Sip it, and you will die....some kind of poison?
Eight legs hidden from the sky.....hopefully not spiders.
In the dark with rocks is where I lie.....a cave...
"Aiko, I think...I know what we need. The venom of a WebWeaver....another one of my phobias." I gently picked her up, and started walking to a series of caves that were underneath the school we used for monster habitats. Hopefully, there was a WebWeaver, yet I was praying there wasn't.
👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀👻💀
It took my about thirty minutes, and I already saw teams heading from the caves back towards the woods. Maybe they didn't have all three items.
I stood at the mouth of the cave entrance. Taking a deep breath before walking inside. As I continued, I followed the trail of thin silk that had lined the wall further into the depths.
Soon Aiko and I came upon a pale young girl, stuck in a web. She had red irises, and white hair.
"P-Please! Help me! I-I'm stuck!" She cried, struggling as Aiko moved closer, her claymore in hand.
"Wait, don't!" I shouted, causing the Gumiho to stop in her tracks. "She's a Drider WebWeaver!" I said, hissing at the girl.
"What do you mean?" She turned around, and the girl had become half spider, half human. "Oh...I've got a bad feeling about this."
The Drider yelled at us, before rushing towards Aiko, only to have her head cut off. Kinda anticlimactic, but effective. I bent over, filling a glass vial with its venom, before we ran off, to my common room.
"Why are we going towards the Stone Pegasus?" Aiko asked me.
"Well, thanks to that stupid rhyme, I know that all places lead to home. So that's where we deliver the items." I smiled as I ran, not caring about my stitches.
We leapt through the door, and I placed all of our items on a pedestal, a bronze light surrounded it and whisked the items away.
I turned to Aiko and gave her a big hug, and we walked out to the arena. Taking our spot on the third place section. I saw Akuma and Nosmas on the first place section, Luna and Annie on the second place section...and Zenin and Zara next to us on the floor...fourth place.
We did it. Only one more round to go.
Life at M.A.M.P just got interesting......
