Aramis P.O.V

I woke up in the hospital wing, again. It seemed like I spent more time here than in my own room.

When I tried to get off the infirmary bed, I found that I couldn't. When I looked down, I saw thick leather cords were wrapped across my legs, arms, and torso. But nothing was stopping me from pounding Zenin's face into the pavement. I pulled and struggled against my bindings.

Ahem...I stand corrected.

As I looked over towards the stand next to the bed, I saw Aiko, asleep on the chair next to the stand. She curled up into a ball, her tails shifting into a ball. I stopped struggling, and instead, tried to use her to get me out.

"Summon: Nightmares." I whispered, concentrating as a black orb formed between my lips. I turned my head and spat it out, the orb smashing and a midnight black horse materialized. "Hey there girl, how are you?" I said softly, and the mare came to nuzzle my face. "Sorry I woke you, but I need a favor. See that girl over there? I need a small nightmare to wake her up. Nothing to bad, please?" The nightmare nodded, before whinnying and running headlong into my girlfriend.

Her face contorted into slight discomfort. She looked kinda cute still, before she whimpered as she woke up, my nightmare de-summoning itself. She sat up quickly, turning to face me. When our eyes met, relief spread across her features, before she walked over and rested her torso on top of mine. She nuzzled her face into the crook of my neck, her fox ears twitching at the sound of my suddenly erratic heart beat.

"I-I'm so glad you're ok. I had the worst dream, you were there, and there was a demon. And he was reaping your soul. And you were fading away. And...and~." Tears welled up in her eyes as she trapped the collar of my robes, burying her face even further into my neck.

"Shh. Shh. Don't worry, it's just a nightmare, I'm here...do you mind untying me?" I asked, she hopped up immediately, moving backwards away from me. "What's wrong? It's not hard, I can see the buckles keeping them closed."

"I-I'm not allowed to let you out...Nurse Ryuka said not to, because you could still be emotionally unstable." She whispered, looking down at her feet like they were the new hip thing.

"What?! Who is she calling emotionally unstable?" I half whispered half shouted. That's when I heard the clicking of high heels. I turned my head to see Nurse Ryuka walking towards us. She was only slightly older than the graduating class, 22 maybe? Either way she wore the most revealing nurse's outfit, like she just came out of a really weird anime. With fiery red hair and white high heels. Complete with a white head dress, with a Red Cross on it.

"The emotion lord. That's who I'm calling unstable Mr. Beleren. Your magic causes you to have and experience heightened emotions, which then allows you to pass that on to others. That means when you get too hyped up and angry, we have to sedate you." She leaned over my face, scrutinizing my face before standing up straight. "However, seeing as your tournament match is in twenty minutes, I suppose we have to let you and Ms. Traeh out now." She flickes her wrist, and the leather removed itself, allowing me to get up. "Now get out, I don't want to see you here until AFTER the tournament. Unless it's to pay me a social visit." She smiled and winked at me, causing me to shudder as I ran off with Aiko.

We ran out towards the arena, just barely making it onto the light bridge in time. Instead of my normal attire, I had a white hoodie and comfortable jeans. Though they were lounging clothes, stuff I'd wear in my dorm, they still head an air of elegance to them, allowing me to still seem royal. I smiled as I walked out, waving to everyone with one hand in my hoodie pocket.

That's when I saw Luna and Annie, but they didn't have their weapons, Luna wasn't even wearing her claws. The arena set itself up, a tundra on one side, and a molten wasteland on the other, when Luna and Annie raised their hands up. They claimed they forfeit the match. When I moved to Luna, I asked her why she's giving up.

"Zenin did a thing I never want to see again. If me and Annie went up against them, we wouldn't do Akuma justice. Plus, I think you would've fought us till you died to get a chance to fight them. I'm just making sure you go back in good condition." She smiled at me as I picked her up and hugged her. As Aiko and I were walking away, she called my name. I quickly spun on my heel.

"Yeah?"

"Make sure you punch the brat good for me."

I gave her a thumbs up and left.

Alright, this is when I become the best person, in the world. All the greatest mages had won their school's tournaments. And now it's my turn.

I was in the locker room, in front of my locker. I was kneeling, eyes closed, muttering ancient Kamuese prayers. I allowed myself to attune to the magic around me, letting my senses take over.

Flashback

'Remember son, we are all connected to the magic around us. Though our family is special.' I looked up into the smiling face of my father, as he sat in a tree. I laughed at him, even though he was 31, he still found ways to stay a teenager. Him and his friends still went on world saving missions.

'My side of the family is strongly connected to The Conduit and the dimension known as The Astral Sea. This is the means of our enhanced summoning abilities. But your mother...' He seemed to get sort of misty eyed at the thought of her. '...she was an elementalist. Which means she was connected to the magic of the realm. Remember this, because you can draw power from all three. Just concentrate.' He jumped down, summoning a pair of wings and gliding down to where I was situated on the grass.

'You're so weird, y'know that dad?' I smiled at him, laying down in the grass.

'Y'know you take after me more than your mother?' He pulled out a box from a pocket dimension, handing it to me. 'Here, this should help while your learning your magic.'

As I opened the box, I pulled out two figurines made from enchanted marble. One was a man, who looked kinda like my father, with an intricate (tiny living metal) crown, defined features, and a jewel encrusted (with actual gemstones) staff that seemed to glow with its own magic.

The second figurine was of a goddess, the goddess of magic from my kingdom. She had long hair, with flecks of Mystic Topaz in it. She carried an open box in front of her chest, within the box was a small aura node. She was smiling, but it seemed like the aura node affected the visual on her face. When the node was red, she seemed angry, when it was blue, she was depressed.

I put both of them back into the box and hugged my father. 'Thanks dad.' I felt him hug me back.

'Son, there will be a time when everything you stand for will be questioned, stay strong to your beliefs. There will also be people who criticize you. Some you can turn into your friends, like I did with Lance. I mean the dude hated me when I showed up. I charmed the girl he was ogling, I was a magic user. He was upset. But we made peace. We aren't best friends, but we still work well together....but there will be some people who will never like you. Don't let them bother you, overcome them, and they will soon see your glory. Now let's get back to the others, I'm sure the other kids want to see you.' He helped me up, and we walked back to the house we shared with his friends and their children.

End Flashback.

So there I was, praying to the two statues my father had given my, and trying to attune myself to the magic surrounding the area. I couldn't feel anything, that is, until a boot hit my back.

I spun around, fists balled, ready to punch Zenin, until I saw Zara. I immediately jumped back, shutting my locker with my foot.

"You're awfully jumpy. What's in there?" She tried to look into my locker, until I blocked her path. "Aww come on, please? Everyone has something secret in their locker. I have a set of love letters that kept being slipped into my locker. Zenin has a mini Akuma shrine in his." She brought a manicured nail to her chin, pondering for a minute. "Hmm, what could be in there? Immoral magazines? Aiko Shrine? Hidden nerd cave? Ah! I've got it! Photos that you've snuck of Aiko when she wasn't looking!" She smiled as I glared at her. "No? Hmm, I would've thought that was right. No matter, I just came to wish you good luck. Cause you'll need it. Wouldn't want anything...opening now would we?" As she spoke the last sentence, she dragged a finger down the scar from Zenin's attack in the maze. I shivered, normally I couldn't feel anything on the scar, but when she touched it, I felt cold and hot at the same time.

When I snapped out of my confusion, Zara was gone, and I went back to my prayers.

🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮🔮

I was standing at the edge of the bridge leading to the arena, having a mini panic attack. My breathing was heavy, heart beat erratic, and everything felt like it was spinning. My scar now burned and froze rapidly, causing small chest spasms. I clutched my heart, as I saw lights at the edge of my vision.

"Aramis, are you ok? You don't look so good." Aiko looked at me, staring at where my scar was under my hoodie. "She really Dark Charmed you?" I looked at her, nodding sharply before trying to calm myself down.

I figured it out after Aiko had said it. When Zara had touched my scar, she had cursed it, and since the scar was over my heart, it allowed her magic to pierce my core, since she works in fear, her magic was causing me to panic.

"I can try to fight it with my own charms, but her magic is far stronger than mine...so I don't know for how long I can force it back." She placed her palm on my pectoral, whispering a quick spell before I felt my panic easing away. "Better?" She asked as she retracted her hand. I nodded, and we moved to the center of the arena. The panels appeared, and after they stopped spinning, I was met with a starry background, with a halo and angel wings. The other panel was a flame, with a broken halo and burnt wings.

Behind us, the panels shifted, and transformed into a space like area, with cloud platforms, and stars scattered everywhere. There was a large cloud platform, with a set of white gold gates on top of it. The panels behind Zenin changed to create a hellish place, with red rocks scattered around the place, and flames of black and red.

"The Realms of Heaven and Hell. How appropriate." Both me and Zenin said, before glaring at each other.

"Begin!" The announcer said, I quickly chomped on an angel orb, my wings slowly materialized as I gave Aiko a boost onto one of the cloud platforms.

"BladePact! Whip Blades!" Aiko shouted, as two pink swords with dark purple pommels appeared in her hands. She then flung out both of them, the blades detaching to form a bladed whip. They wrapped around the boots I wore so that as I flew, she could follow me. Allowing the both of us to traverse the platforms faster.

I flew us to the platform that carried the gates, where both me and Aiko hid. Her whip blades were now a HeartSeaker Bow, Quiver, and Arrows. It was basically a pink gilded bow with a heart guard on it, and pink string. The arrows being gold with pink fletching and red, heart shaped arrow heads.

"Summon: The Bow of Astral!" I shouted, a shimmering bow made out of light appearing in my hand. As we looked down, we saw Zara making her way up by blasting lighting as a propulsion, with Zenin behind her, using his chains as a grappling hook.

As Aiko notched an arrow, I pulled back the string on mine, wisps of light started forming an arrow, its origin from the stars around me. Simultaneously we released the arrows, sending both bolts at them. We missed by a fraction, but quickly hid as to not alert them to our position.

Aiko P.O.V

Well, this is going fantastic. I'm not that good with a bow, but I know Aramis is not going to back me up if I go in close combat. He might even miss and hit me. So all we could do was wait for them to find us? I wasn't going to allow that to happen.

"BladePact: TerraSteel Kusarigama!" I dark green metal kusarigama materialized in my hands. I looked at Aramis, and he nodded, pulling back the string in his bow as several arrows formed from the star tendrils. He squared his shoulders and I used them as a brace, launching myself towards Zenin. Swinging my kusarigama above my head, I cut through his chains, causing him to fall onto one of the platforms, before I started using the weapon to attack him from range.

I'm a BladePact Mage. This means I'm proficient with any weapon I create. Though they may not be special, like Aramis' weapons, they are much more durable. And since I'm proficient with any weapon, I'm able to fight expertly with them. My favorite being whips or extending weapons, since I can augment it with my magic and change the length of the weapon itself.

Using both the weighted rock, and the kama at the end, I started pushing Zenin towards the edge of the platform. He tried to throw chains at me, but thanks to the strength of TerraSteel, I cut through them, causing them to de-materialize mid air. And against his strings, due to my fox like sight, I was able to spot them and cut them down as well.

I was doing absolutely fine! Until I felt a searing pain in my back. Spinning both the weight and the kama above my head, I turned around to see Zara standing there with a wicked grin on her face.

"I smell....burning!" She said, before sending another bolt of lightning at me.

I swung my Kama at it, only to have it act as a conductor, and cause me to drop my weapon, second degree burns forming on my hands where I held the kusarigama.

I felt tears coming to my eyes, but I forced them back, channelling my magic again. "BladePact: Whip Blades!" The swords formed in my hands, and this time, I would be protected due to the leather grips.

Running forwards, I spun in a circle, vaulting forwards and continuing my twists and turns. The blades detached and flew around, slicing at Zara's clothes and skin. Right before the blow that could've caused my aura levels to drop below the limit however, I felt a gust of air, and then everything was colored with a white hue. Looking up, I saw Aramis holding out his hands to the sides. Projected from the hands were two half-spheres, one white, in the image of the moon, the other yellow, in the image of the sun. He stood behind me with his arms out, the two half sphere's forming an orb around us. The chains and strings from Zenin burned across the side of the sun, and Zara's Lightning was absorbed.

The hits kept on coming, before I noticed the orb getting smaller. As I looked up at Aramis, his face was contorted with sweat and pain. He fell to his knees as the orb continued to shrink under the onslaught. I noticed the projections start to fizzle before fading slightly. Aramis cried out as the orb broke completely. As he fell to the ground I managed to catch him, his chest rising and falling erratically, before he shoved off of me and stood up again.

Aramis P.O.V

I had to protect her...she can't get hurt any further.

As I stood up, I threw my hands out again.

"Summon: FlashFrost Barrier!" A dome of ice surrounded us, this time, whenever anything touched it, it froze solid.

"Aramis...stop. We can't win." I looked down at Aiko, and she sat crossed legged on the ground. "Why do you defend me? You could've won if you hadn't flown in here."

I knelt down, kissing her forehead. "Because I love you, and I don't want them to hurt you." I gently brushed my knuckles against her cheek, resting my forehead against hers as I took her hands. "They won't get to you, until they kill me first."

That's when I felt her hands on my cheeks and something warm and soft against my lips. My once closed eyes snapped open to see Aiko's blue one's staring right back, before they slowly slid shut as she continued to kiss me. I just stared at her, the only thing I could feel was her lips melding together with mine. Eventually I closed my eyes, wrapping my arms around her waist and bringing her closer.

As the dome started to crack, we broke apart, and I stood up, revitalized, yet strangely empty. "Don't worry. I'll protect you." I looked down, and for some reason Aiko looked a little more, full of color than she did before we kissed.

The dome started to get brighter, and as it finally broke apart, I heard myself shouting something I've never said before.

"Regalia Activation Rite! MoonlightBlaze!" A gust of wind blew out from around me. Slowly I felt magic envelope me as everything went white.

Aiko P.O.V

When the wind and light cleared, I saw someone who was similar to Aramis, but so much more mature. He was about a foot taller, his hair went down to his mid back, and was tied in a pony tail. His features were so much more defined and, strong and, strangely hypnotic.

My lips still tingled from our kiss. I hated to admit it, but I didn't kinda rob Aramis of his energy. Since my species is kinda like a more primal or animalistic version of a succubus, we can still life and aura from kisses or, further acts. When I kissed Aramis, I didn't expect to take energy at all, but I was hit with so much, my instinct took over and I siphoned some, but there was still so much. I stared at the man in front of me, and noticed tiny features that still reminded me of Aramis. His hoodie had become a more intricate version of his normal robes, and his circlet now looked like a crown. He carried a bejeweled staff, and had massive seraphim wings sprouting from his back. And when he spoke, I felt like my knees were jelly.

??? P.O.V

"Finally, what was within is now out. It's good to have control."
