Alex P.O.V

It was time to shop for our dresses for the ball! Luna and I had finally managed to drag Akuma out of our room so that she could come shopping with us.

She didn't have a choice, she was going to get a dress, go to the ball, and dance with Nosmas. I have to make up for Aramis' mistake. So help me...they will kiss at that ball.

Aiko had decided she wanted to come too, and even though she isn't in Erwyn house, she's kinda like our friend now because Aramis likes her. She said that she could help pick out dresses since she had already done her shopping.

We just started left the grounds of the school when the boyfriend talk started.

"So, we obviously have to get Akuma's dress to match Nosmas' tie right? Cause let's face it, that's the only color in the guys' outfits for dances that we can use to match." Aiko said nonchalantly, causing the girl in question to blush.

"I don't see why everyone seems so invested in my personal life, it's my business....back off." Was her reply, it was like she wanted the help, but she didn't at the same time...she really confuses me sometimes.

After about another five minute walk, we arrived outside of the biggest dress shop in the town close to the Priory, Be My Dress.

It was a three story dress and suit shop, the first floor merely being changing rooms, the second being dresses, and the third housing suits. From what I had heard, the guys had already been shopping for their suits, and after a brief bit of charm from our nine tailed fox, we knew exactly what the guys were wearing.

From the information that Aiko gleaned from Aramis, here's what we knew.

Nosmas would be wearing a dark blue suit with an ocean blue tie. Aramis would have a traditional black suit with a purple tie he made himself, in which he had sewn gold and silver stars into it. And....not that it mattered, but William would be wearing a white suit with a red tie.

So it was our job to match Aiko and Akuma's dresses to match Aramis and Nosmas. And we would spend any amount of money necessary, unless it exceeded our combined total of 1,500 gold....then we are screwed.

We made our way to the second floor, sifting through the mass of dress racks and dresses. I couldn't tell how long we had been in there, it felt like thirty minutes, but my phone told me it had been an hour an a half when I checked.

It took us a while, but we finally did it....we found the perfect dress.....for Luna. Ok, so it wasn't HARD to find a dress, since she didn't need to match with anyone in particular, but it was hard to find a nice elegant dress her size without it having a weird kid design or insignia on it. We finally decided on a pink and black kimono esque dress, which she had said reminded her of what her mom wore to all of her dances. We bought the dress, and due to the size, it only cost us 200 gold.

We went searching for another hour and finally found a dress for Akuma, it was a deep blue that started light ad the neckline and slowly went darker and darker until it was almost black. It dropped all the way down to mid calf, and we knew that Nosmas was going to be shocked when he saw her.

After making her try it on. Walk around in it. And dance with a phantom Nosmas, we finally went to purchase it. It ran us 500 gold, and on top of Luna's 200 gold dress, that only left me and Aiko 800 gold to spend.

After finding Akuma's dress, we found Aiko's relatively quickly, picking out a tight fitting dark violet dress with yellow and white gems scattered through out it that reached mid-thigh. She sprinted to the register, and I could see the smile on her face, and the slight crinkle in her eye. And I knew she was happy.

After purchasing the outfit for Aiko, I had 400 gold left to use for my dress. So we started the hunt again.

It was taking forever, and I was starting to get upset. I could feel my brow furrowing at my predicament. What if I didn't find the perfect dress? What was I going to do? I was going to look like a weirdo if I wasn't matching with Willia~ WHAT AM I SAYING?! I don't have to match with him! I'm not going to the ball with him....so why would I need to match?

Oh who am I kidding? I want to dance with William so bad! I could just imagine us...dancing under the moonlight, a smile of content permanently plastered on my face. He'd bring me closer as he'd wrap his arms around my waist. Then, just as I'm about to leave, he'll softly speak a good bye, and then ki~

"ALEXANDRA FLORES YOU PAY LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW!" Luna all but screamed at me. I jolted back into reality at the sound of her shouting. Her voice never went over one normal people would use in a library.

She held up a scarlet red satin dress. It was loose fitting and comfortable when I had tried it on, and only reached just below my knees. If any dress was going to match with Will it was going to be this one. I was just about to buy it when I saw the price.

"500 gold? But we only have 400 left! I won't be able to afford this!" I whined, planting my foot in the ground like an overgrown child.

"Oh, no problem, I'll just call Aramis, I'm sure he'll loan us the one hundred gold...the dude's a prince after all, he's filthy rich." Aiko said, whipping out her phone.

"It's no use, you remember the store policy, you aren't allowed to hold dresses if another customer wants to buy it and you haven't yet." I groan sadly, ready to but the dress back.

I hung the dress up on the rack, eyes teary and mouth caught in a perpetual frown. When I heard the voice of an angel.

"Alexa?" I spun around to see Will, dressed in his red vest again, smiling at me. Wait...did he just call me Alexa? Oh who cares, he can call me whatever he wants.

"Alexa, why are you putting away that dress? It looks like the perfect match for you." Had his voice always sounded so sweet and endearing?

Aiko quickly stepped up to me, giving me a sisterly side hug. "The girls and I were stingy, and Alex is just short of being able to afford this dress." She said, squeezing me in and attempt to get me to look up at him rather than my flats.

"Oh, if that's the case, then here." He gently pushed 100 gold into my hand, carefully closing my fingers around it with his hands.

"I really couldn't~" I started

"Consider it a gift Alexa. I'm sure you'll look wonderful in it. I can't wait to see you at the ball." He said, taking my hand and kissing the knuckle gently.

I'm sure I was beet red in the face, but I couldn't remember what happened in the few minutes after...I had blacked out, and if it wasn't for Aiko, I probably would've suffered a head injury.

Akuma's P.O.V

It was the day after we had gotten our dresses, Aiko, Alex, and I were having lunch on the roof of the music building, so we could hear whatever hopeful band was playing in the rooms underneath us. Sometimes it was good, and sometimes we wished they used the sound proof runes built into the rooms.

We were talking about the theme of the dance, Love From The Sea To The Stars, when we heard a voice in the room right below us. And three instruments, a guitar, a harp, and a violin. It was an odd combination, yet, soothing to hear each string instrument's differences work together to create a song that's almost seamless.

I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you ask for it
'Cause you need one, you see

I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way

I'm not gonna write you to stay
All you have is leaving
I'mma need a better reason

To write you a love song today, today... yeah...
I learned the hard way that they all say
Things you wanna hear

After it started, we could tell it was Aramis singing, he always practiced in his room, Nosmas recorded one of his sessions and showed it to us. He had an almost magical voice, somewhere between tenor and alto...we always wondered why his voice was so high for someone his age, but when we confronted him about it, he said he had a diverse vocal range, but that spot was the most comfortable for him.

My heavy heart sinks deep down under
You and your twisted words
Your help just hurts

You are not what I thought you were
Hello to high and dry
Convinced me to please you

Made me think that I need this too
I'm trying to let you hear me as I am
I'm not gonna write you a love song

'Cause you ask for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song

About halfway through the song, we heard another voice, a strong voice, just as talented as Aramis. But this one was a baritone, deep and rich. I looked at Alex, and she looked like she was going to melt. It must be William, who know he could sing AND play?

'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay

If all you have is leaving
I'mma need a better reason
To write you a love song today

Promise me you'll leave the light on
To help me see daylight, my guide, gone
'Cause I believe there's a way

You can love me because I say
I won't write you a love song
'Cause you ask for it

It was almost the end of the song, when I heard one more voice, softer, less sure of itself. It was just below tenor, and I could tell who it was. It was Nosmas, somehow, Will and Aramis got him to sing. He sounded adorable, and I could imagine the look on his face, an adorable, unsure look...

'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this

Is that why you wanted a love song?
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see

I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way

I'm not gonna write you to stay
If your heart is nowhere in it
I don't want it for a minute

Babe, I'll walk the seven seas
When I believe that there's a reason
To write you a love song today, today

The song had finished with a flourish from all three instruments, and a vocalization from Aramis...when it ended, we all looked at each other, with Aiko smiling as she put a finger to her lips. Alex and I understood. We were never telling them what we heard. And if we did, we had to make sure that we distracted them afterwards so that they forgot.

I didn't like the look in Aiko's eyes when she said distraction.
