Chapter 6: Finn-icky findings...
"Well, what about Claire?" Lavender asked.
"I'm not naming my son Claire." Her red-haired husband moaned.
Lavender took a deep breath. "We don't even know if it is a boy!"
"My parents had six boys, I really doubt that it's girl." Ron replied with a hint of amusement.
His wife shot him an unimpressed look. Ron stood up from where he had been laying down on their bed to place his hands on Lavenders growing belly.
"Look I'd love to have a little girl running around, I just have this gut-feeling it's a boy."
"How often is your gut-feeling right?" Lavender asked inquisitively with slightly narrowed eyes.
Ron thought for a few seconds. "You know what? Claire Weasley is a beautiful name!"
"Harry what are we going to do!?" Cho exclaimed with hot tears running down her cheeks.
"I don't really know, I mean, we're getting married the week after next anyway. Does it even really matter?" Harry answered still in state of shock.
"You seem to have forgotten, it's a bloody child! OUR BLOODY CHILD!" Cho shouted.
"I haven't forgotten, and half the school won't be able to forget! Do you not realise how loud your screaming!?" Harry hissed.
Cho huffed and grabbed the gold tie Harry had been looking for.
"Look I'm sorry, I'm just afraid." She apologised quietly while tying the tie around Harry' collar.
Harry kissed her forehead, he didn't love her yet but he was sure he would in time. "I'm sorry too. At least now all we have to do is get married and get you pregnant the second time. Then we can forget all about this stupid law."
"Speaking of marriage we had better get a move on or we'll be late for Seamus' and Katies wedding." Cho mentioned grabbing her handbag and taking her fiancé' hand before apparating.
Draco stood impatiently outside the church where the Finnigan wedding was being held in Killarney. He was in a horrid mood and acting like a disobedient five year old. He was cold, tired and forced to wear a scarlet coloured Gryffindor tie to the Gryffindor themed wedding.
"Brighten up a bit would you? It looks like you were dragged here against your will!" Hermione whispered.
"I'm freezing!" Draco whined.
"If you haven't noticed it's snowing, if your cold cast a heating enchantment." His fiancée retorted flatly.
Draco would've slapped himself if he weren't in public. The look on his face said it all though, Hermione giggled. Draco threw her a dark look, which was answered with a raised eyebrow. It was then that they were led inside to their seats.
It would have been an average traditional ceremony had it not been so long! Draco had his arm around Hermione' shoulders. Halfway through the ceremony Draco leaned in.
"Our wedding will be so much better than this." He whispered into his fiancée' ear.
"You think?" She replied in a quiet whisper keeping her eyes trained on the bride and groom.
"I know." Draco stated.
Hermione leaned into his muscled chest. "Good because I'm bored out of my mind."
Draco had to stop himself from laughing and passed the noise he had made off as a cough, although he still recieved some unimpressed glances. He pulled Hermione closer to him and continued to watch the rest of the ceremony.
"Look they're over there." Lavender said while pulling Ron over towards Harry, Cho and Hermione.
As soon as they approached the three Harry spoke up in a panicked tone. "Where were you? We've been looking all over!"
"Sorry I felt sick as soon as we arrived, morning sickness." Lavender explained.
"Yeah, thought it better we'd stayed outside, rather than her chucking up all over our mates wedding." Ron mumbled insensitively.
"Ronald!" Hermione exclaimed, infuriated with her friends ignorance.
Cho shot him a death glare that could have rivaled McGonagalls and Lavender slapped his arm off her looking hurt. Harry put his hand on his forehead, questioning how thick his friend actually was. To add to the uncomfortableness of the situation, it was then that Draco walked over from his prior conversation with Blaise Zabini.
"Well, well, what did Weaselbee get himself into this time?" Draco asked sarcastically, not bothering to hide the amusement from his face.
"Nothing out of the ordinary." Hermione answered coldly while glaring at Ron.
She turned to Draco who had just draped his arm over her shoulders.
"Drinks anyone?" She asked.
"Firewhiskey, please Hermione. Actually make it a double." Harry asked, massaging his temples.
"Same for me love." Draco said and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before heading over to speak to Goyle.
"Me too please." Cho said.
Harry shot her a look, which didn't go unmissed by Hermione. Cho then remembered, her newly found pregnancy.
"Actually, a pumpkin juice would be perfect Hermione." Cho said a little too quickly.
"Two butterbeers please Hermione." Lavender said softly while pulling Ron over to their designated seats.
Hermione grabbed her purse from her clutchbag and walked up to the bar where she ordered the drinks. It was there George Weasley came up to her and ordered two firewhiskeys.
"So Hermione, what did you think of the wedding?" The earless Weasley asked.
Hermione cleared her theoat. "It was lovely."
"Don't worry I nearly fell asleep too." George said casually while looking around.
Hermione choked on her firewhiskey while laughing at his comment. George chuckled.
"Don't let the Finnigans hear that." Angelina warned, walking over to the pair at the counter.
George passed his fiancée the other firewhiskey he had ordered. Hermione noticed the engagement ring on Angelinas ring finger as she reached for the glass. It was beautiful, maybe a little small, but beautiful. The three chatted and smalltalked for nearly half an hour before Draco came searching for Hermione.
" 'Mione I was wondering what was taking you so long. Hello George, Angelina." He greeted them, shaking both of their hands.
Draco also noticed the engagement ring.
"Hello Malfoy." George replied politely, it was forced but at least he tried.
The tension could have been cut with a knife. Angelina broke the silence excusing them to find their seats.
"Sorry I didn't realise the..." Hermione tried to apologise.
"Hey don't worry about it." Draco cut her off and planted a kiss on her cheek.
Hermione reached for all six glasses on the counter.
"Here." Draco said, pulling up his sleeves and taking three of them.
Hermione noticed his matching rose-gold mark on his lower right arm and smiled. The minister had forgotten to mention that the mark wouldn't fade off after recieving the results, it would strengthen and grow with the couples bond. Hermione' and Draco's had grown three and a half inches, that was more than anyone elses. Draco had now found a way to fade his dark mark, now it could only be seen if you were either looking for it or if he flexed his lower arm muscles.
They set the drinks down on the table and took their seats next to Harry and Cho. Within five minutes a feast appeared on the tables. The feast was followed by speeches and dancing. Then drinking, dancing and more drinking. The pattern continued and unlike at the ceremony, at the reception there wasn't a soul in the building who wasn't having a good time.
At about half past four in the morning a slow song was played and Hermione dragged Draco onto the dancefloor where they waltzed to the heavenly tune.
Eventually Hermione looked dead on her feet. Draco kissed her forehead and sat her down on a chair. He grabbed his jacket and Hermione' clutch and shawl. He thanked Seamus and Katie and apperated himself and Hermione to the hotel they were staying at. Hermione was just concious enough to change out of her uncomfortably tight, knee-length, scarlet coloured dress. The pair collapsed on the bed.
Draco thought Hermione had fallen asleep, so he leaned over and whispered in her ear, "I love you Hermione." And kissed her forehead.
The last thing Draco heard before falling asleep was a feint voice saying. "I love you too Draco."
