Always there
Ok...this isn't a Peter Parker story. This is a Clint and Natasha. Not Clintahsa. But Clint AND Natasha. I feel like there aren't enough of these.

Clint sighed heavily as he laid down on his half of the dingy little bed he and his partner had to share. This wasn't the first time he and Natasha have had to share a bed. Not by any means. They were super spies after all. They couldn't draw attention to themselves by sharing a room but with two beds. Especially when they were undercover as a married, French couple.
Clint turned off the bedside lamp. For awhile, the two laid there, back to back. Just like they had so many times before.
"Don't worry Clint. I'll get you home in time for the baby."
Clint smiled softly and relaxed. Natasha always knew what was wrong. And she was always there for him.

Natasha Romanoff was infamous for being emotionless. It was her job after all. She was the mean, intimidating one who had a hard life and was always out for revenge. That is why Clint was the nicer, more outgoing one.
It was like a screwed up good cop and bad cop. Surely someone as...well... Clint-like as Clint wouldn't have a partner as Natasha-like as Natasha. It was the perfect cover. They never saw the danger hidden behind all the grace and beauty.
But, it was times like these Natasha wished she could process emotions better.
Clint sat next to her on her bed in her tower room. He rubbed soothing circles on her back as she sniffed.
An hour earlier at dinner, they were all talking about how Pepper and Tony were planning on children. But that's not what bothered Natasha. Not really. What set her over the edge was when Pepper asked when she was planning on having children. She 'smiled' and excused herself from the table and retreated to her room.
Natasha had always wanted children. She used to fantasize holding one of the little humans in her arms and rocking them to sleep when she saw other people with babies. She could imagine driving them to and from school and soccer games. She would dream about helping them through their first love problems. And watching them walk down the isle on their wedding day. But...Natasha Romanoff would never be able to do that.
She had been sterilized when she was a teenager. As soon as she was "mature", the procedure was required in the Red Room. They did it with all their agents. They couldn't have one of their assassins having a child with their target by accident, after all. And that had crushed her. Because it was irreversible. And she knew that no one in their right mind would allow the Black Widow to adopt a child.
And Clint knew this. Natasha never remembered telling him about this, but it seemed that he knew anyways, because every time she felt the despair of never being a mother, he would take her to see his kids. And if he couldn't—like right now—he was at her side helping her. Supporting her.

It was silent in the commons room of Avengers Tower for once. This was a blessing all in itself because there was always something happening there. And usually, it was something loud.
But right now, it was quiet. No none dared to enter. Natasha and Clint were relaxing in the couch. Clint was asleep with his head on his partners lap, and Natasha was resting the book she was reading in his head. The glares they revived from over her book was enough to drive everyone away. They didn't want to risk waking Clint and suffering Natasha's wrath.

There were other things that showed just how close they were. Like the fact the Clint could get close, and even touch Natasha without losing a limb. Or the fact that she actually, genuinely smiled near him. And how the two seemed to have a secret language that only the two of them knew. A language that didn't even require words. They never ever second guessed each other. They also worked in perfect sync. Sync that only years and years of working together and trust building could accomplish.
Clint and Natasha were definitely as close as they came.

Ok, I have proof that Tom Holland is a better Peter than Spidey and that Andrew is a better Spidey than peter.
Ok, so when you read a Tom Holland Spidey fic, it's usually fluff and Peter Parker stuff. When you read a fic from Andrews glorious Spidey days, there's more Spidey-action.
I'm just saying.
And yeah, sorry for the crappy ending. I start things but never finish them so the endings usually suck. :(
Until next time.
