Chapter 18: Metani

Well, we didn't have anywhere to go in Nolanburg, so we just headed off down Route 103. And it was pretty long. It was about a day's walk from Nolanburg to the next city: Valanor Town. Trust me, if you had a car (just a few rich people did have actual cars) it would be much faster.

"Zeke... Why is your backpack glowing?" Goldie said.

Zeke looked at his backpack. It really WAS glowing; not some stupid trick by Goldie. Then he pulled out his egg. That was what was glowing. We all sat there for a few minutes, but the only thing that happened was it glowing, and glowing, and glowing.

"Well, I think we should just leave. It's done nothing but glow, glow, gl..." Goldie stopped. "HATCH!"

That's when it started to take a shape, not the egg, but some Pokemon.

 "Dratini!" It said.

I gasped. That was a Dratini; a very rare Pokemon. And it wasn't your usual Dratini; it was pink, not the pupleish-blueish color it usually is. It's a shiny too.

"Dratini, the Dragon Pokemon. It is called the "Mirage Pokemon" because so few have seen it. Its shed skin has been found. Ability: Marvel Scale. Known Moves: Wrap, Leer, Thunder Wave, Dragon Pulse." the Pokedex stopped.

"Dragon Pulse isn't a move it can know this young," I said. "Maybe it had a strong father or mother or something."

Zeke caught it in a Pokeball and we continued.

We eventually got to Valanor late that night. We just took a room at the Pokemon Center and slept in until about noon. Then we actually got up and explored the town. I learned there was a Gym there. We didn't go yet, though. We went to a noodle shop. It was two words: Gr-eat.

"Now it's gym time!" Zeke said once we were done.

We rushed over to the gym. There was a small doorway just like the one we saw in the sewer, but this one was silver and had the gym symbol on top of it. Zeke shrugged and walked in anyway. There was really just stairs. After a few minutes, we got to the end. There was another silver doorway. We walked in.

There was a young boy standing on the other end of the battlefield. I guessed he was the leader, Metani. He was about five feet tall and wearing ripped jeans and a grey jacket over a blue shirt.

"Well, looks like I have a challenger," He said. "Paniward, you're..." he stopped for dramatic effect, "UP!"

A small red and black Pokemon with small claws was sent out. It didn't have its head blade, though. That never happens; a Pokemon without a distinct feature on it.

You're up, Burn," Zeke said.

I started with a Flash. It couldn't see for a minute, so I used Flame Charge. It was hit head-on. It used Metal Claw and Fury Cutter at the same time; a combo attack. But it missed.

"Why you!" Metani drew a whip and whipped Paniward.

I used Flame Charge and hit it again. It fainted.

Metani drew his whip again and whipped Paniward repeatedly while telling it to get up.

"Pani..." It was speaking the Poke-language. It said, "Help..."

I used Light Screen to prevent him from hurting Paniward any more. Metani turned and looked like he was gonna kill me. But he dug in his pocket and drew a badge and threw it at me. I caught it.

"Take it. I don't really care 'bout him," Metani said. "Just take him." He threw me a Poke Ball, too. Then turned around and went into a room. We left after that.

This is it... Paniward is based off of AceofKings. It will play a part in the story.
