I placed both my hands on the jail cell bars, feeling the metal melt away slowly.

The melted metal dripped to my feet burning my shoes, turning them from white to black. It was painful but I was too focused to care.

An alarm started to ring overhead but that didn't stop me! And nobody bothered to stop me either!

As soon as I had melted a hole in the bars big enough for me to escape I made a run for it.

I sprinted through the hallways and down the staircase, past the front desk and through the doors. I stood with my hands on my knees gasping for air.

I stopped and stood up straight, 'That was way too easy' I thought.

I looked around and realized there was nobody else anywhere!

"Hello?" I questioned loudly but no one answered.

I noticed how I could see perfectly! Without my glasses. Everything seemed... different

"Now do you see the advantages of losing a Merrell twin?" I heard a cautiously familiar voice echo around the walls.

"Show Yourself!" I shouted,

"Do you see the power I have!?" He laughed.

"Come on Milten! I'm prepared to fight!"

"Do you even know where we are!?" He questioned.

I looked around, absorbing my surroundings. Everything seemed the same, "Come Out! Show Yourself!" I bellowed trying to change the subject.

"Come on Veronica the least you can do is guess!" Milten chuckled sarcastically.

The problem was I knew exactly where we were, I don't know how but somehow we were here!

"Veronica, if you just let me have a drop of your blood we can save this place!" Milten encouraged.

"No Milten! You were supposed to give your blood to save this place but you're too selfish! If we skip a generation the whole place will collapse!" I defended,

"Someone's been doing their research" He laughed.

"And by the way you need more than just a drop of blood! You have to be drained!" I corrected. "You're just too selfish to sacrifice yourself! If you had done this correctly all of us would have lived!" I shrieked

"Well that's where you're wrong, You see Veronica to complete the process it has to be the first born only child! So it was a necessity to kill our twins!" Milten stated.

"I'm gonna find a way to bring Nessa back and make it so that the other side can stand without Merrell blood!" I shouted

"That my friend is impossible!"

My fists clenched, I could feel a hot burning sensation running through my fingers, I strangely was excited to see what would happen next.

"Show Yourself, You Coward!" I ordered.

"Nobody calls me a coward!" He replied angrily, finally showing himself.

He drifted down from behind a building, his face lit up from the light coming from his energy balls. His face had a twisted grin glued from ear to ear.

"Fight Me!" I shouted,

"Why Not?" He laughed.

Before I could place my hands in front of me Milten had blasted energy towards me, causing me to stumble backwards.

"You're gonna need a lot more than that to get me down!" I bellowed, launching energy towards him. He barely flinched, I never realized how powerful he was!

"Oh that's funny! You actually think I was trying! Veronica unlike you I've had years practice using these powers. I could destroy you with my pinkie finger!" Milten chuckled.

In the blink of an eye a massive surge of energy came holstering towards me, I tried to block it but it was too powerful!

Before I knew it I was drained from energy on the ground. I lay there gasping for a breath of air.

"You know a funny thing Veronica?" "That place you,  your twin and Sophie were trapped in for years wasn't for torture! I saw what my brother had done to you and I felt bad, so I did what I did best! I tried to heal you. It worked for you and Sophie but something strange was happening with Vanessa. It was as if she was healing physically. By the time I figured out who you were, you and Sophie had escaped leaving your sister vulnerable. I decided to possess a box in which someone was trying to save Vanessa with, I almost got her to drive herself insane but it was too late, Sophie had saved her." Milten admitted.

"Get to the point!" I panted, sweat dripping down my forehead.

"By the time I had successfully captured you I thought I could drain you then and there but it wouldn't work. At first I was confused... but then it struck me! The whole time I had spent trying to heal you girls my power took a major twist. It slowly began to turn Vanessa more human everyday!"

"What are you saying?" I asked shakily in need for a proper breath of air.

"Veronica by the time Sophie and Vanessa had come to save you, Vanessa was fully human!" He laughed.

My mind was racing... Did she know? Is that why she didn't defend herself? Tears rushed down my cheeks. I was in too much pain to move.

"You mean she could've lived?" I sobbed,

"A long, long life!" Milten teased while laughing.
