Part 68

Khushi and Arnav are travelling towards the house. Journey is a silent one. Arnav concentrated on the driving while Khushi seeing outside lost in her thoughts.

"Arnavji"called Khushi.

Arnav looked at her but she didn't say anything.

"What do you want Khushi ??"asked Arnav.

"I want to meet papa"said Khushi observing his expression.

Arnav stiffened hearing this. She knew after whatever happened yesterday, Arnav is not ready to see face of both Garima and Lavanya. She too din't want to face them but what is her father's mistake in it ??

"Arnavji. Plz I know you don't like coming there but I want to meet papa. I didn't even say him the good news he is going to be nanu. Please"said Khushi in a pleading tone.

Arnav didn't say anything. He didn't even looked at her.

Khushi felt disappointed and sat silently seeing outside. She was lost in her thoughts. Her trance is broken by halting of the car.

"We came Khushi"said Arnav. She looked at the surroundings and was confused. It took time for her to realize.

They were in front of Gupta house.

"Arnavji" Khushi looked at him confused.

"You said you want to meet your father. How can I refuse you Khushi ?"said Arnav.

"Thank you"said Khushi and hugged him.

"Come. Now let's go inside " said Arnav and they both came out of the car.

They headed into the house directly as the door is open. They both looked at the people in the hall. Shashi and Buaji are also there.

"Papa"called Khushi.

Shashi and Buaji looked at Khushi, Arnav. They both were puzzled.

Before Shashi could say anything, an elderly person in the hall called "ASR"

Arnav looked at the person.

"Hello Mr.Malhotra."said Arnav giving forwarding his hand.

"You here" asked Mr.Malhotra.

"I am the son in law of Shashiji"said Arnav "and she is my wife Khushi, Shashiji's elder daughter"

Arnav introduced Khushi to him. Khushi smiled to him politely keeping Namaste.

"But what is going on here ??'asked Arnav.

"Arnav. let both of you sit"said Shashi.

Both Arnav and Khushi sat on the chairs.

"ASR. She is my wife Radha and he is my son Raj. We came here for alliance."said Malhotra.

Arnav and Khushi looked confused.

"Khushi beta. They came here to ask Lavanya's hand for Raj"said Shashi.

Though Arshi were puzzled, they din't say anything. They understood why he took that decision.

"I will bring Lavanya"said Buaji and went inside. After sometime, Lavanya came with coffee tray wearing a yellow saree(remember guys Lavanya during pooja in RM.)

She gave coffee to all and sat beside Shashi.

"Shashiji. Why don't they both talk with each other privately ??"asked Malhotra.

Shashi nodded his head and signaled to Lavanya to take Raj inside the room. Lavanya nodding to her father went inside followed by raj.

Here all are chitchatting and having snacks. Khushi couldn't find Garima. She felt something fishy.

After sometime, Lavanya and Raj came there.

" ASR. What do you think about Lavanya ??'asked Malhotra startling everyone.

Though Arnav at first puzzled but said "Lavanya is a good girl. She is Shashiji's daughter. So no need for you to think for second time"

"But I heard that you shouted on her and dismissed her from AR ??"asked Malhotra.

"No. there is nothing like what you think. She wanted to continue her studies so she resigned job. And coming to shouting, there is no big deal. I will shout on everyone for small mistakes. I even shout on my brothers. So don't think about anything. Lavanya is good at work she is a quick learner" said Arnav.

Malhotra's seemed to be satisfied by the answer while Khushi and Guptas looked at him surprised.

After sometime, Malhotra's left from there saying they will soon come fixing date for marriage. Lavanya silently went into her room while Arnav to outside as he got a call.

"Buaji. When did you came ??'asked Khushi hugging her.

"Yesterday. Me and Arvind both came, he has some office work here "said Buaji.

"Where is bhai then ??"asked Khushi.

"He went to office"said Buaji.

Khushi sat beside Shashi who is thinking deeply.

"Papa"called Khushi. Shashi looked at her.

"Are you ok ??"asked Khushi.

"Beta. NK said to me what happened there" said Shashi. Khushi didn't say anything.

"I didn't expect this all will happen"said Shashi.

"Shashi. Leave it all. Did you forgot what NK said ??? Our titaliya is going to be mother. "said Buaji.

"Haan jiji. I forgot about it. Beta. How is your health ??"asked Shashi.

"Ha Papa. I am fine and the baby too. We are coming from the hospital only "said Khushi.

Buaji brought sweet from kitchen and feed her. Just then Arnav came completing the call.

"Now you have to be careful. Don't run here and there. Ok"said Buaji.

"OK Buaji. I will" said Khushi.

"Khushi. Shall we leave ?? I have an important meeting in the office"said Arnav.

Khushi nodded her head. They both took blessings from Shashi and Buaji.

"Papa. Bring Arvind bhaiyya to RM in the evening. It is long ago I met him" said Khushi.

"OK beta. I will bring him"said Shashi.

Taking leave from them they both drove off to RM.

In the evening:

Arnav entered the room returning from office. He saw Khushi sleeping on the bed peacefully. He stood there looking for sometime lost in her. silently he went towards wardrobe, took his clothes and went to washroom.

When he came, Khushi is not on the bed. He heard voices from poolside and went that side. Khushi is talking on phone facing back to him.

She turned and looked at him.

"When did you came ??"asked Khushi surprising.

"When you were sleeping." Said Arnav.

"Sorry Arnavji. These days I don't know what is happening to me due to pregnancy. Sometimes I eat more, sometimes I sleep more. "said Khushi pouting

"It's ok. Now say why are you disappointed on phone ??"asked Arnav.

"Papa called me. Arvind bhaiyya have a lot of work in office. He will come late by night. " said Khushi with a sad expression.

Arnav saw her sad voice and said "Khushi. Why do you worry ?? Call your brother for lunch tomorrow if he is free"

"Haan that's a good idea. I will ask papa about this" said Khushi.

"So you will be free tonight . Isn't it ?"asked Arnav.

Khushi nodded her head and asked " Why ??"

"One of my friend is giving a party. He called me. I thought to take you but you said your bhai is coming, so I thought to go alone" said Arnav.

"Ok. Now I will come" said Khushi.

"Ok. I will make arrangements"said Arnav.

"What arrangements ??"asked Khushi confused.

"N.....nothing. I will call my friend and inform him that we are coming. Be ready by 8 pm "said Arnav stammering and went from there.

Khushi felt something fishy, but shrugged off those thoughts and went to call her father.
