Chapter 47

Izuku had been summoned by Aizawa and he wanted to know what it was about. "Midoriya perfect timing I've gotten word from the Hospital that Eri can have visitors."  Izuku was happy so he decided to rush over immediately but Aizawa had decided to drive. Along with him, Mirio had decided to join in with a care package with him. “Hey buddy, guess you heard the good news.” “Yeah.” The three began driving to the hospital where they were escorted to Eri’s room. Before going in, they were told about how Eri’s horn shrunk and that at the moment she is probably the most stable she’s able to be at the moment to interact with people. Once inside, they greeted the little girl by offering a care package. Since they didn’t know her favorite fruit, Mirio had quite a few fruits in it. Eri however was more content with the apple above anything else.

After they cut and planted a few, they began to talk calmly among each other. “I’m sorry I never got your name so well. I know Lumillion, but what’s yours?” “Oh, it’s Catalyst as my hero name. But you can also just call me Izuku Midoriya.” “Ca...cata...lyst? What’s that?” “It means something that can affect someone in a great way.” The little girl immediately looked down at her bandaged arms before saying anything. “L-like my curse?” She obtained a head pat by Izuku who smiled at her. “Your quirk wasn’t the reasoning for anything you went through. Don’t assume everything is always your fault. Let others hold the blame now and again.” Eri nodded and began trying to make abnormal facial expressions. When she stopped, she started frowning before saying something. “I’m sorry, but I think I forgot to smile.” This hit both boys like a stack of bricks. Eri’s alive and safe, but she isn’t free from the hold Chisaki has on her yet. Until she can be released from that and learn to smile, she’ll never be truly saved.

Mirio immediately remembered something that the doctors said about her interacting with people. “Hey Midoriya, isn’t the School Festival coming up?” Izuku immediately understood what he meant to run over to Aizawa. “Sir. Would it be possible for Eri to leave the hospital for a day?” He started to smirk knowing where he was going. “Not a bad idea you two. I’ll put it in request for Nezu and get her to do that. However, you’re responsible for watching her Midoriya.” Izuku nodded while Eri asked Mirio what they were talking about. “What’s a Culture Festival?” “It’s a big and cool thing where there’s a bunch of shows, food, and some other things. Come to think of it, they may even have candied apples.” “What are those?” “It’s when they put apples on a stick and put them in some melted sugar to make it even sweeter than it already was.” The thought of this made a bit of drool come down the little girls mouth making everyone know she was into it. “Oh yeah, our classes are performing in it as well, you can see us do some cool stuff too.” This peeked Eri’s interest as they continued to talk for another hour before they had to leave.

Back at UA

Upon returning to UA everyone in 1-A was hyped for the upcoming cultural Festival many were trying to decide what to do for the event but couldn't seem to make up their minds. This was a once a year event where students could relax and they definitely needed this after dealing with the attacks on their lives. Unfortunately, the students of class A had to think of something they could do with nothing really sticking out to them. Everyone gave ideas, but several weren’t exactly the greatest. At this moment, Honto started to get an idea seeing two ideas that were listed. “Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! What if we did a concert!?” Everyone turned to her a little interested in it. “We can mix dancing and Jirou’s skill with music together. Mina can help us with the dancing, and Jirou can help with the music.

Everyone thought about this with it sounding like it would be probably the best idea they could have at the moment. “Then it’s settled, class 1-A shall be holding a concert!” Everyone cheered with Honto extremely happy that she was able to make an idea everyone enjoyed. That's when everyone was being assigned roles. Izuku himself was lost in thought when his role was announced. It wasn't until Ochack nudged his side “huh? What? Sorry I wasn’t paying attention” “Midoriya You’re gonna be one of the back up dancers during the performance” Iida said then came the most important part of the event it was the band that needed to be formed but the only one who everyone knew that was musically talented was Kyouka Jirou until another hand shot up it was Honto “I actually know how to play drums” she said. Everyone looked at her a little surprised before explaining. “I was trying to avoid my uh, ‘interest’ with my quirk so to say and found out I had a talent for it.” This somewhat impressed the class as one by one, things began to fall into place for everyone.

Few days later

Days leading to the Culture Festival progressed with everyone working the best they could to make it go rather well. During this, Izuku had been asked to take the second half of their performance to lift Aoyama up as a disco ball to run across the top beams of the auditorium while simultaneously using his quirk to make the beams he shoots more flashy. After a little practice in combinations, both found out that their quirks could make a weaker or stronger version of the french boy’s Naval Lazer. This would make, as Aoyama would say ‘a more dazzling performance’. Today was no different with everyone practicing their steps and rhythms before a little crimson eyed girl was shown with Mirio.

“Izuku, isn’t that Eri?” Ochako pointed this out for him to realize she came to visit. “Eri, how are you?” Some of the students that were part of the raid walked over for the little girl to give most a blank look. “Aizawa said that it was probably a good idea for her to come here before the festival just as a way for her not to get too overwhelmed. You wanna help me show her around Midoriya?” “Ashido, do you mind if I head out for a while?” “Be my guest. We were about done anyway.” “Then I’ll join you two.” Ochako stated this as they began walking towards the school. As they did, Eri began noticing the large number of people working hard curious about what they were building. “So many people.” “If you get scared, hold onto one of us. Alright?” Izuku looked down to smile as the small girl nodded.

As he turned his head, Izuku was met with a giant fake dragon skull to his head spooking him a little and nearly turning it to dust. “Sorry Midoriya, didn’t mean to spook you.” “M-my fault Tetsutetsu. I wasn’t paying attention.” “Well. Well. Well. If class A’s pathetic enough to look around, that must mean you all are so ashamed of what you are doing that you must be looking at others for you to feel better-” Monoma was cut short by class B’s Awase smacking him in the back of the head. This surprised Izuku and Ochako since normally that would be Kendo’s job. “So where’s Kendo? Normally she’d be around him making sure he’s not causing problems.” “She entered the beauty pageant this year. She’s stuck with focusing mainly on that so I stepped in on helping keep Monoma in line.” “Huh, I guess Nejire and her are going to be facing off then.” Ochako pointed this out for the four to decide heading over there before Monoma regained his composure to make a comment. Unfortunately, this wasn’t fast enough.

“What an adorable child, a shame she must have been made by one of you class A swine knocking someone up-” Izuku absorbed the life energy in the air around the arrogant blond for him to fall down gagging on what he breathed in. “GYAAA!” “Alright, let’s go.” They walked away with Monoma still hacking a lung up on the ground with his class not exactly saddened by this. In their trip, they had seen many different things some other classes were doing. They also discovered that the support course would be having an expo to help gain some eyes for themselves. The four left quickly however when their mechanical friend Hatsume started a fire to walk into the final destination they wanted to before heading back. “Hey, it’s Eri.” Nejire came over while in the air to say hello in a dress that was emphasizing her features a bit.

“So Izuku, what do you think?” “I-i-it’s nice. It also shows off your pr-pr-pr-” “Proportions?” Mirio finished this sentence for Izuku to go completely red. “Aww, I’m glad you like it.” Nejire turned her attention to Eri who was hiding behind Izuku with a curious face on her. “Hello Eri. My name is Nejire Hado. It’s nice to meet you.” “H-hi.” Eri was scared to show her face, but attempted to greet the floating girl the best she could. “It’s ok Eri. Nejire won’t hurt you. She’s very nice and someone I…*ahem* love a lot.” “I thought you loved Ms. Ochako a lot?” “It’s a bit difficult to understand sweetie, but me and Nejire love Izuku equally as much as he loves us.” She didn’t understand it, but went along knowing they were at least good people. “So I heard you’re entering the beauty pageant. I can almost guarantee you’ll win.” “I hope. I’ve gotten second for the past two years by this one girl and want to at least leave UA with this win. It’s my last chance to do this.” Izuku understood this in a sense of Nejire wanting to have one win if any under her belt for this. “If you need any help that I can give, I’ll give it.” Izuku was immediately hugged at this with Nejire laughing. “You’re such a nice person Izuku. But your support is more than enough.” She gave him a kiss before having to get back to rehearsal.

On their way back to the dorms, Mirio decided to stop at the cafeteria for something that Eri could eat as a snack. While there, they were met by principal Nezu and Midnight who were having lunch as well. “Hello Ms. Eri. I hope your little trip around our school was a pleasant one.” They all watched as the small rodent creature ate what looked like a pound of cheese in lightning speeds. ‘That was a lot of cheese.’ Izuku and Ochako think this as he walks over. “What do you think dear, would you like to see the Culture Festival?” The little girl thought about it before answering. “Everyone is working hard and seems to like what’s happening. I think I do want to see it.” “Splendid. I hope you have a nice time at the festival then. Now, I must be on my way to handle some other things.” Nezu walked away with Midnight mentioning one final thing.

“Nezu fought to keep this festival going. The board felt it was better to cancel the festival as a whole after what had happened. But thanks to some guidelines, we were able to keep it running.” “What were they?” Ochako asks curiously as the R rated hero explains. “If by any chance there is any sort of trouble whatsoever during it, the festival will be shut down. I do not like it, but this was what they agreed on.” This wasn’t sitting right with Izuku knowing how not just his classmates, but everyone is working on it. He knew that everything had to be right in order to keep this from ending in disappointment and failing to truly help Eri.
