Chapter 34

It was officially the day of the exams and everyone was nervous, mainly Izuku since he would be taking the pro license exam. As they came to the testing sight, Aizawa gave them a few words of encouragement. “I understand that you all may be a bit on edge, I can understand that. However, taking this exam and passing will symbolize you are no longer eggs waiting to be hatched. You’ll be young chicks taking their first step into the new world. Now I want you all to remember our motto. Go beyond..” Everyone began to shout in excitement, especially some guy with a different school’s uniform on. “PLUS ULTRA!” As they turned around the man began to bow while slamming his head into the concrete as an apology. “My apologies, I just love UA!”

This somewhat scared everyone until Izuku noticed something about the guy’s uniform. ‘Shinketsu. That means-’ “If it isn’t Izuku. It’s like, so nice to finally see you again.” The moment Izuku heard Camie’s voice, he went pale for everyone to notice. “H-hello U-Utsushimi. I-I didn’t know you were t-taking the exam with u-us.” “For real? I guess Bakubaby didn’t tell you. So we’re taking this exam together, that works toats well for me.” Camie came over to Izuku’s ear while whispering something to him. “You better drop out now, it’ll save me the effort of proving you were never meant to be at this level.” Izuku felt like he wanted to vomit. Though he’s faced countless villains before, Camie had her own way of getting under his skin that no thug or sociopath could ever manage to do.

“Unfortunately Ms. Utsushimi, Midoriya is taking a pro hero licensing exam. You and him will not be taking the exam together.” Aizawa states this to not sit right with the fawn haired girl who frowned a bit. “Aww dang. I so wanted to see what Izuku could do up close and personal. I guess I’ll just have to settle for watching on the side, but I may want to see what your new boo is like in the exam. Lates UA.”

As Camie left, Izuku couldn’t stop shaking in fear while trying to pant for air. ‘Why can’t you get over this Izuku!? You’re better off now! She can’t hurt you, so why!?” His body began to burn where Camie made her mark on him before being shaken out of his mini panic attack. “Izuku!” “Huh?” He looked around to see everyone a little concerned for his well being. “I’m guessing she was a tormentor?” Izuku was scared to answer but silently nodded. “Trauma like yours isn’t easy to get over, but you didn’t show her she got to you. That proves you’ve made some headway.” Izuku nodded before running to a trash can to lose whatever was in his stomach. “Holy shit, I’ve never seen him like this before.” Mineta states this while others felt bad that Izuku was still struggling in some way.

“She’s not gonna ruin my chances here.” Izuku spat out what was in his mouth while clenching his fists in anger. “Today is the day I show the world that I was born to be a hero. And if I have to claw my way to that, then so be it.” Izuku looked up with determined eyes while still holding a bit of paleness in him. “Then today you have to prove it.” The members of class A went in to separate with Izuku going one way, and everyone else going another. He followed a corridor down to a small room where a member of the police force motioned him inside to take a test. “You will be given a packet of 100 scenarios where you must pick the best answer given or you can think of. You require a minimum of 75% to pass and move onto the next round. You may begin when ready.” Izuku nodded while opening the packet to begin. ‘Good thing AllMight explained to be prepared for anything. Time to show the world what Catalyst can do.’

Meanwhile with class A

The members of the class began the exam with being told of needing to get two people out by hitting and lighting all 3 targets on a person while keeping theirs from lighting up. The test is over when 100 reach this requirement with everyone heading where they would. Most of class A stuck together besides Todoroki who went his separate way since his quirk wouldn’t help them much. The group was doing fine until a person from another school used his quirk to separate them by creating a giant earthquake. As she got up, Ochako realized she was alone. “Now what do I do? Do I find some of my other classmates, or do I pass on my own?”

As she thought on this, a certain fawn haired girl smirked at her before using her quirk. “Ochako.” The brunette looked over to the voice to see Izuku beaten and bloody. “Izuku-” “Why?” She was cut off by Izuku falling to his knees in tears shaking violently. “WHY DIDN’T YOU FIND ME SOONER!?” “Izuku.” Izuku started to cough up blood to make Ochako run over to him. “I was in pain. I begged and pleaded for her to stop, but she kept doing it. I...I lived hell. I lived it and you weren’t there. Why weren’t you there to save me before she did this to me?” Seeing this hurt Ochako. But before she could do anything, one of her targets lit up to see Camie beside her. “Looks like that was easy enough. You like my quirk sweetie, I can make illusions.”

Camie breathed out a bit of smoke to show another Izuku tied up with fresh whip marks on his body. “You’re like, so easy to read fam. All it takes is showing the pathetic twerp beaten and broken for you to lose it. You deserve each other, you’re both failures.” Camie came at Ochako again for her to dodge. She tried to grab the girl for her to only make an illusion of Izuku as a child beaten to a pulp with scrapes on him. “Can I...can I still be a hero without a quirk?” Seeing and hearing this from Izuku as a child killed her. She wanted nothing more than to hug the illusion and say everything was ok.

“This isn't real!” Ochako swatted the illusion away with Camie sitting on a rock. “Oh, it’s more real than you give it credit. Every Izuku I’ve shown was one I personally saw beaten, scraped, or tortured to no end. So what are you going to do? Will you fight me and ignore the cries of pain your man gives for you, or will you succumb to your conscience and care for the illusions?” Camie got off the rock to blow some more smoke over to show Izuku on the ground crying from 3rd degree burns on his chest. “Please...make it stop. MAKE THE PAIN STOP PLEASE!?” ‘It’s not real Ochako. Don’t fall for it. She’s trying to tug at your feelings to get you to react. Wait for her move and strike then.’

“Not working for that one huh? Let’s try this one.” Camie made a new Izuku with his arm twisted around looking like he can’t feel his arm. “*hic* Somebody stop him. He’s gonna kill me.” ‘Don’t listen.’ “You know, I’ve always wondered what Deku’s face would be like if he saw the video I sent him.” “...Shut up.” “I wonder what he was thinking when he realized I never loved him?” Shut up.” “I bet he cried.” “Shut up!” “So much that I bet it was the final nail in the coffin when AllMight told him he couldn’t be a hero like Bakubabe said.” “SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH YOU SKANK!” Ochako ran in anger while Camie smirked. ‘Come and get it.’

She reached her hand out to hit one of Ochako’s targets before being judo flipped over to the ground. She then twisted Camie’s arm to take the ball out of her hands to hit two of her three targets. Before she hit the third, The fawn haired girl made one final illusion. One of Izuku when he fell. “I can’t. I can’t even get a propper death in this world. Why can’t this world just let me end it?” Ochako held her head down while holding the ball to Camie’s unlit target. “Wait! I know I did bad things, but I can help you.” “You’ll help me when Izuku doesn’t have to worry about you.” Ochako hit the final light to take Camie out of the game.

Before Camie left, Ochako said one final thing to her. “You don’t deserve to be a hero if you can hurt someone like that. If you ever become a pro, I will never think of you as one.” Ochako walked away to find another target for failure to sink into Camie. “She...she beat me. She beat me while trying to keep his happiness.” Her eyes started to twitch before shouting in anger. “YOU FUCKING BITCH, OCHAKO URARAKA!”

With Izuku
Izuku was doing his best on the written portion of the pro exam. The questions he saw were basically all scenarios he had thought up of and knew exactly how they should be handled. As everyone was spaced out Izuku looked up and saw many who were pulling their hair out because the test was too difficult for them. ‘Guess I was more prepared for this part.’ When he finished, he got up to give the test to the proctor who had a quirk to immediately grade it. He wrote down a 95% on it before giving a card to Izuku. “Give this to the officer outside and he will escort you to the second half of the exam.” He was told this silently to nod and do as the proctor said.

When he got outside, he gave the card to the officer for him to lead Izuku to a changing area. “Change into your costume in 5 minutes. Once ready, I shall guide you to the field for the physical part of the exam.” “Yes sir.” Izuku walked in and went to the nearest free locker to change while taking some deep breaths. “Just relax Izuku, you should be able to handle the next part. Just remember some of Ryukyu’s words. ‘Remain calm and calculated. The first to lose their calmness is normally the one who loses the battle.’ I just gotta stay cool and focus.” Izuku held his chain to his side before heading out of the locker room.

The officer led Izuku into a giant dome area with what looked like a fake training area. “It seems the last of UA had taken the final spots. We have all 100 contestants, please vacate the area for one of our pro hero licensing examines to take their second part of the exam.” “You’re from UA, right kid?” “Y-yes.” The officer smirked while stating his next part. “You all did a rather strong push before to have all of your class pass that was taking it here. Impressive nonetheless that you all passed in general. Not all of a single school normally does.”

This comment made the green haired boy smile knowing his friends made it past the first half as well. ‘That’s a relief. I wonder what my next half would be?’ As he said this, a giant explosion happened with multiple other ones after. “THE HECK WAS THAT!?” “Your next test. Your job is to find and save 10 civilians from this zone. Good luck.” Izuku was given the green light to go in while the officer smiled at him while talking to himself. “I wonder how he’ll do with our little surprise near the end?”

As Izuku began to make his way trying to find any of the ten civilians he paid close attention and listened in case there was a civilian crying out for help. When he came across a massive pile of debris there stood a child crying with blood running down his face Izuku had a feeling it was fake blood so he treated the situation as if it were a real incident. “Don’t worry little one a hero has arrived” the child stopped crying as Izuku wiped the blood from the child actor who was impressed with what he was seeing and decided to test Izuku more.”I can't find my mommy!” Izuku had a feeling that  this could be another test so he responded the best he could “Don’t worry If you’re split up I’ll take you to the safe zone and maybe we’ll find her there. Was there anyone with you or were you alone?”  The civilian actor was even more impressed Izuku rushed and took him to the safezone this continued on with the remaining 9 civilians they all gave him high marks once all civilians were united at the safezone he believed that was the end of the test until *BOOM* a massive explosion had gone off and approaching him were none other than Ryukyu,Edge Shot and Miruko who all wore black and red versions of their costumes “ look what we got here guys one hero and ten possible victims.”
