Chapter 27

The following day after finals classes were given a day off to rest and recover the majority of 1-A had decided to go to the mall to prepare for the summer camp they were told about before being dismissed yesterday. Izuku was going to meet Ochako and the rest of class 1-A at the mall Nejire was doing her work study program with Ryukyu. She said it was rather important and couldn’t go into detail with the two understanding and respecting her privacy.

As the group came upon the mall, many split into pairs with a group of Izuku, Ochako, Tsu, and Kirishima heading into the outlet stores. “So what do you guys wanna get?” “I was going to look for some bug spray.” “A few new pairs of shorts for me.” “I was looking for a few towels to soak. Summers are always a little hard on me.” Tsu began to notice Izuku spacing out a bit to ask him about it. “Midoriya, you ok?” “Huh, oh yeah.” Kirishima noticed this as well to ask him about it. “If something’s bothering you man, you can ask us for help. We’re your buds man.” Ochako went over after this to pat Izuku’s shoulder to get his attention. “It’s Bakugou, isn’t it.”

Izuku nodded at this while explaining. “For as long as I can remember, me and Kaachan always wanted to be heroes. You all probably understand that he was always the one who had the longer end of the stick. Now that he’s no longer able to be a hero, it just feels well...unreal.” “What Bakugou did to you wasn’t what a hero should do Midoriya. Don’t try and rationalize it.” Tsu bluntly states this for Izuku to nod. “Still doesn’t feel right in my eyes. Was it right to force Kaachan to give up his dream?” Ochako started hugging Izuku worried for his well being. “He dug his own grave and you have no reason to argue that. What he did to you was unforgivable and he’s lucky he didn’t get expelled. But please, don’t think this is your fault. It’s not, and it never was.”

Izuku smiled at his girlfriend's kindness before patting her forearms that were wrapped around his waist. “Thanks Ochako, you and Nejire always know what to say.” “Someone’s gotta help pull you out of your own self misery and we all know you can’t do that yourself.” Izuku chuckled a bit at this before agreeing. “Alright, let’s find what we need and window shop a little after.” “Right.” The quartet found their items rather quickly to check out. While leaving, Izuku bumped into a face he’d rather had avoided.

“Well, if it isn’t Izuku. How are you?” Camie began to be rather kind acting with Izuku knowing the tone she’s giving rather well. She wouldn’t show it on the outside, but she was beyond pissed. “Uh, hey Utsushimi. I-I’m doing w-well.” “I see you’ve still got that stutter. How sad that you could become a hero, but the real star of our neighborhood couldn’t. I guess the world won’t have the next All Might. Major lame if you ask me.” She was rubbing salt in Izuku’s wounds making him feel bad. It was because UA found out what Bakugou did to him that this happened to the blond.

“You Midoribro, who’s this?” “T-this is C-Camie U-Utsushimi.” Izuku introduced Camie with her walking up to hold his arm with one hand and grab his back with the other. The group didn’t see what was happening behind the two since they faced forward, but Camie was digging her nails as deep in Izuku’s back as possible. “Nice to meet ya. So you’re classmates of Izuku’s here. Toat’s awesome. He never told me he had such cool folks in his class.” ‘It’s ok Izuku, it’s just her nails. You’ve felt worse.”

The green haired boy started to feel something trickle down his back to know it wasn’t sweat. “So how do you know Midoriya *ribbit*?” “We used to date. Did he not tell any of you about me?” She began to slide her nails down to open Izuku’s back even more for him to go a little pale. “Midoriya, what’s wrong?” Tsu started to notice this with Izuku trying to answer. “I-it’s nothing. Just a little surprised to see Utsushimi again.” Out of everyone in the group to pick up what’s happening, Ochako started to see Izuku shake violently to realize there was more to this than they thought.

“Why don’t we sit down somewhere to speak.” Ochako walked over to grab Izuku’s arm and Camie’s hand to force her to let go before yanking Izuku over to her. “Sure. I saw a nice little refreshment stand a little ways back if you guys want.” “Lit fam.” The group started heading out for them to sit at a table. Ochako kept Izuku in a corner with Camie sitting down directly across from them without anyone noticing Camie was digging her heel onto Izuku's foot. He didn't focus on the pain but when everyone's drink order was taken he excused himself. "Excuse me but I have to use the bathroom" Kirishima had followed him because he had to use it as well.

As the girls found themselves alone, Tsu began to ask a little about how Camie knows Izuku. “Midoriya never told us he knew someone like you. How come?” “Well me and Izuku used to date and he probably feels embarrassed. You know how he is, too much of a pushover sometimes.” Ochako wasn’t buying a single word of it knowing what she did about the woman in front of her. “So Ochako, what’s your relationship like with your boy toy.” The fact she was calling Izuku things like this enraged her to no end for Ochako to find a way to retort back. “Very nicely. Izuku, myself, and our friend Nejire were able to have a nice time together a little while back. He’s really a beast in the bedroom if you know what I mean.”

She eyed down the fawn haired girl for her to hold a face of death behind her smile. “I didn’t know he had it in him. Then again, you two probably had to do all the work since he’s such a ‘nice boy’.” “Not with me. He enjoyed the taste of my body where he had to take an energy drink the day before from how exhausted he was making sweet love to us.” “ Pfft, I doubt that.” She started laughing a bit with Tsu trying to figure out what the issue was.

With the guys

“So you used to date that girl? You never told me you had someone that nice in your life.” “I uh, I guess I forgot to mention her.” Izuku started to awkwardly laugh before something caught Kirishima’s eye. “Midoriya, why is the back of your shirt wet?” Kirishima felt his shirt to notice a metallic smell to it. “Uhh.” “Just pretend you didn’t see this please. I don’t want to burden you and Tsu with my problems. It’s bad enough that Ochako has to sit and listen to Utsushimi, but I won’t give her the satisfaction to know she still has a hold on me.” “But if it’s hurting you, why don’t you say something?” “If I did, you two would be dragged into something you don’t deserve. Just pretend it doesn’t happen. It works for when I need it to.” "Look Midoriya we're pals alright I got your back no matter what okay if someone is messing with you they're messing with me. My dad told me that the word friend means brother which makes us family and we watch out for one another."

Izuku smiled at this while letting a deep sigh out. “Utsushimi and I had an abusive relationship. She would regularly torture, hit, and basically bleed me dry of all my money. The worst thing was sending me a picture of her cheating on me with Kaachan some time back.” Kirishima started to get kinda scared of what the next comment was. “This was the evening before I jumped off the roof of a building.” “I...I’m so sorry man. I didn’t know it was a touchy subject.” “*sigh* It’s in the past. Any chance I can get you to put these gauze on my back?”

Kirishima nodded while Izuku lifted his back to show his still bleeding cuts from Camie. “HOLY SHIT MAN!” “This isn’t bad.” Kirishima wet a paper towel to clean some of the blood off before putting the gauze on. “I’m scared to know what bad is with you.”

The duo reunited with the girls as Kirishima sat a little worried for his friend. “So any chance we could catch up again Izuku? Maybe something where I can talk to your other girlfriend.” Camie dug her heel deep in Izuku’s ankle while twisting it for him to smile. “I’m sorry, but I don’t think that’s possible. She works with the pro hero Ryukyu, so her schedule is a little frantic at times.” This comment angered Camie for her to keep digging her heel deeper until a cracking sound was heard and felt. “Well that’s so sad. Guess I’ll talk to you later.” “Alright, and tell Kaachan I said hello.” Camie finally showed her emotion at this while walking away. “I’ll tell him. He’ll enjoy this tonight.”

She left for Izuku to finally be free of the problem to silently shout in pain. “I heard a cracking sound, what was that?” “Probably her heel dislocating and breaking something.” Izuku grabbed a few napkins to put in his mouth before slamming his foot back into place with his face squinting in pain. “Sorry you two had to see that.” “Wait, so she actually was doing things to you while we were talking *ribbit*?” Izuku nodded while absorbing the life energy from the napkins to try and heal his broken foot. “It’s a long story, but she’s as responsible for some of my scars as Kaachan was.”

Tsu looked at Izuku blankly while giving a straight up answer. “I have newfound respect for you.” “Wish it wasn’t with this.” After the whole ordeal with Camie the group went with Izuku to pick up some leg and wrist weights for the training camp.

Few days later
It was officially the day that the students went on their training trip before they departed. All parents had gone to wish their children good luck and a safe journey. When all were aboard the bus the trip began many were talking amongst themselves others playing card games to pass time during this ride Izuku had Ochako napping on his shoulder as he thought "Training is about to begin"
