CHAPTER 9: THE CONVERSATION
She tossed all night and could not sleep, so she decided to wake up at dawn, outside the window the sun was gradually rising, replacing the moon. She stepped out of bed, her feet touching the wooden floor but it didn't make the old creaking sound, she breathed a sigh of relief for fear of waking her sister. She slowly approached the window, gently lifting the thin curtain, a cold and cool breeze rushed into the room, hitting her slender body making her shiver. However, she smiled slightly, having to say that although it is very beautiful in America, because her family lives in the city, mornings like this are rarely seen.
She was silent, looking at the scene in the distance. Each light but cold wind blew from afar, the leaves fluttered, and the lavender trees she planted in front of the house also leaned slightly to receive the cool breeze. The air wafted the scent of lavender and soft roses. It seems that the wind is bringing sweet scents to you, isn't it?
She took a deep breath and exhaled, she wanted to save this wonderful atmosphere in her lungs. She stood there looking at the scene in front of her once more, an indescribable emotion rose in her heart.
It turned out to be an English morning. How peaceful! She took out her clothes from the suitcase, went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, washed her face, and changed. She looked at herself in the mirror, today to match the cold weather in England, she chose for herself a long-sleeve shirt with jeans, a milk-cream cardigan over it, she combed her hair and walked out of the bathroom.
Don't know if their grandparents are awake yet? She thought to herself and then dialed her phone to check the time, it was six in the morning. She looked at her sleeping soundly, thinking that leaving her alone would be okay, right? She thought about it again and again and found that there were grandparents anyway, upstairs and downstairs heard any noise and ran up one by one, there would be no danger. She thought so, then opened the heavy door, tried not to make a sound, and went downstairs.
As she was walking down the cold stairs, she suddenly started to walk and stood still, she hid in a nearby dark corner, hoping that a little darkness in the corner of the stairs would cover herself for a moment. She sighed softly and strained her ears to listen.
"Are you telling the truth? Again?"
She heard her grandmother's voice downstairs, hesitant. Grandfather sighed and replied:
"Yes, my dear. Again."
"So what's up with the two of them?"
This time her grandmother's voice became shaky, as if she were about to faint.
"It's okay, luckily. But do you think we should move them to another room? I don't want that to happen again."
"Come on, Grandpa, just leave the two of them there. Moving to another room I'm afraid Syrena will panic all night because she's suddenly moved to a completely different place. And Sabrina, you know. Although she's 18 age but she..."
"Okay, if you say so. I also want to keep them safe."
Grandpa sighed.
"By the way, are you sure... they still don't know?"
She heard her grandparents be silent for a long time, then a voice replied:
"Don't worry, I believe the two of them don't know yet. That's all."
And the conversation ended there. Only a few short sentences, short, without beginning or end, she stood there without understanding, her mind wandering aimlessly. It seems that her grandparents knew something about the secret of the mansion, but because they wanted to be safe, they decided to keep it a secret from her sisters about anything related to the mansion.
