CHAPTER 62: WHERE IT ALWAYS BELONG
Noticing that, Sabrina immediately ran after him, when he approached Syrena and stretched out his claws to slap her, a blade slammed into its back. Blood gushed out like a stream, the wolf howled in pain, Syrena ran to her side, her face full of terror.
The animal fell to the cold ground, writhing in pain, the sword still pinned on its back, and soon, there was only the corpse of a wolf with gray fur lying dormant in a pool of blood, Eyes closed, sword pinned to his back. She turned to Syrena, held her sister in her arms, crying silently.
"I'm sorry...ver...sorry...I shouldn't have let you play by myself like that...I'm very sorry..."
Syrena put her head on her sister's shoulder, she did not know what to say, after a long silence, the little girl spoke softly:
"Is it dead?"
Sabrina let go of her sister, slowly walked over to where the animal was lying still, and after observing it carefully, she nodded, turning to Syrena:
"It's done. Don't be afraid. It's okay now."
Then with a decisive movement she grasped the hilt of the sword and drew it violently from the wolf's back, which remained motionless, she breathed a sigh of relief. It's over for real!
She looked at the blade that was now soaked with blood, the remnants of the war just now, her hand gently lifted the blade, the sunset from the outside made it even more magical.
A very strange combination, she said:
"Thank you so much, Emerald."
The two sisters walked out of the cave holding hands, and when they got there, they saw three figures standing, looking like they were waiting for someone. As her sisters approached, Syrena exclaimed:
"Collins! Devan! Miss Judy!"
Collins smiled and picked her up, asking about everything. Sabrina nodded to Judy, the two exchanged a hug, Judy said:
"Please forgive me. I should not let you ran away and then lost you like that."
But she shook her head and replied:
"It's my fault. I ran away earlier, you don't have to blame yourself."
Judy smiled brightly and hugged her again and then she glanced at Devan, who had been standing still without saying anything, she walked up to him, gave him a small smile and kissed him on the cheek. He now noticed the sword in her hand and the wound carelessly bandaged, he said:
"Where did you get the sword?"
Accompanied by a bright smile. She replied:
"Secret, Devan. It's a secret."
Then she dropped the sword in the green grass, despite the eyes of the other three she stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the lips. He wasn't as flustered or surprised as he was the first time she'd done that, he paced very precisely and responded to her. Breaking the sweet kiss, she looked at his face. God, how she loved this face so much and most of all she didn't want to leave it. Not yet! She didn't want to! She wanted to stay a little longer.
With him. The person she loves the most.
[...]
He lifted her sloppy bandaged hand gently, as if he were lifting something very precious, he kissed it and then tapped her forehead, reproachfully:
"Sabrina. Look! You're not being careful."
She stuck out her tongue and smiled back.
"Sorry. I'll be more careful in the future."
"Hey."
A hand poked her shoulder, and she turned to see Judy, Collins holding Syrena standing there. Judy handed her the sword, saying:
"So what are you going to do now? I mean with this sword?"
She looked at the beautiful sword in front of her, walked over to Judy and carefully took it. She studied for a long time, then looked back at the grassland before her, and with a decisive movement she plunged her sword into it under the surprised eyes of everyone around her.
Finished, she turned to everyone who was still eyeing the letter A, mouth saying the letter O:
"The Emerald Sword must be where it belongs. I found the sword here and I believe, she looked at the sword still glittering in the afternoon sun, "this is its 'home', this is where it will always belong."
