CHAPTER 40: "WINTER IS COMING TO TOWN, MY LOVE"
The weather has been strangely cold these past few days. The day before it was warm, but today it's cold. Sabrina still lingers in her heart a little bit of happy feeling of last night, when she was told by some guy that she loved her under a starry sky.
She lifted the curtain to look out the window, it was windy today, but the wind was not very strong, not to the point of hurricanes and storms, but still saw the trees outside swaying a bit. Syrena darted down the stairs, hugging her sister. It seemed that the previous day's conflict had gone into the past, the two-year-old girl seemed to have no memory of yesterday, she hugged her sister who was not understanding, saying:
"Sister, sister. Did you see anything? Snow is falling down. So beautiful."
Sabrina heard that and looked out the window as well. Outside, the first snowflakes had begun to fall gently, white snowflakes falling and landing gently on one of the green, colorful leaves out there. Soon, this place will be covered in snow? She wondered. Syrena watched her intently then she spoke, her voice sounding regretful.
"I'm sorry. About last night."
The girl hesitated. Sabrina only now realized one thing: it turned out that the little girl still remembered, but she thought she had forgotten, but she still remembered it. She looked very apologetic, she seemed to regret about the action she shouldn't do last night.
Sabrina patted her sister's head, her voice soft.
"Yeah, it's okay. No one is mad at you, okay?"
She smiled brightly, some little girl saw that and was happy again, smiling with all her eyes.
[...]
Around the time of changing seasons, when Sabrina was first seen, she just stared at that scene, her heart indescribable. An unexpected kiss came to her, right at those white cheeks, she turned and smiled happily. She exclaimed:
"Devan."
"Yes. I'm here."
He softly replied, blue eyes once again looking directly at her, eyes full of tenderness and love. He sat down on the arm of the chair, suddenly he hugged her in his arms, pressed his face to his black hair, he kept that position, not saying a word. You sit here and don't know what to do, are you in a passive position? Sometimes feeling his breath gently on her hair, some girl's heart seems to jump out of her chest.
"Winter is coming, right?"
She asked him, she couldn't stand the suffocating silence between her and him, she wanted to break it. And she did. Still pressing his face into her hair, he replied:
"Yes, my dear. Winter is coming."
