CHAPTER 19: MOON, STARS AND THE NIGHT FOREST
"Ouch."
Syrena let out a cry and fell backwards. She panicked and ran to help her up, the girl said:
"It hurts."
"Are you alright?"
But the little girl did not answer her, but instead exclaimed in delight:
"So beautiful."
"Hey just keep your voice down. We do not want that person hear us."
She warned, but then remained silent. She looked around, where is this place? Her sisters were in the middle of a forest covered with green trees, the sound of the stream murmuring in the distance and the cheerful chirping of birds. The wind blew and made the leaves rustle above the sisters' heads, and the sun shone on her face so bright that she had to turn her face away.
"It's almost sunset."
Syrena stood up, pointed behind the trees and said, she also stood next to her sister. Indeed it was right, the blazing sun just now seemed to be the last ray of sunshine to close a long day here, far out there, in the direction her sister's hand pointed, she saw the sun was slowly sinking. down, the orange-red color began to embrace the forest.
"Do you think we should go back?"
She was about to nod but thought of that mysterious person still standing on the other side of the door, waiting. What if it's not a good person? What if he (she) is waiting for her sisters out there and ready to attack when they come back? Some older sister was too wary of this, she turned to her sister, giving her the answer she was waiting for.
"I think...she hesitated, "we should stay here tonight."
[...]
They had no tent, so they spread the leaves around it and lay flat on it, and darkness began to cover the whole forest, above and the beautiful crescent moon. Sabrina tried her best to ignite the fire, in the end, God did not let people down, the light of the fire began to flicker in the still dark night.
Syrena lay down on the pile of leaves laid out, her eyes fixed on the sky, the night sky is full of stars, the stars are sparkling just like in the story her grandmother told, she mumbled for a long time and then shook her arm. sister, pointed to the sky and said:
"Look Sabrina, there are two stars. And they're so speacial. Just like in grandma's story. Look!"
She looked up at the sky and saw only small stars with sparkling silver light, she questioned again:
"Where? I don't see anything."
She clicked her tongue and patiently continued to speak.
"So you don't remember, in that story our grandmother told us, in the quiet night, if you look up at the sky, you will see the two most special stars."
"But I don't see anything. Only a starry sky."
She looked at her sister and smiled back.
"Boring."
She said and turned away, sighing. Sitting here, she couldn't help but laugh. God, is this her first two-year-old sister? Then she also lay down, the air tonight is not too cold, only the cool breeze soothes, the wind caresses the skin of her face. She looked dreamily at the flickering fire in front of her and then fell asleep without knowing it.
