At first, HANNA was a rather low self-esteem person. They weren't a particularly skinny person, so when ALISON noticed them, it was something, or at least they thought so. Unfortunately, although he was seemingly friends, it was ALISON who drove them into bulimia. frequent teasing caused their self-esteem to hit rock bottom. but when he disappeared, everything changed. They were the one who gained the name of the king/queen of the school probably because their looks changed a lot but almost because of the new confidence. despite this, they have always been the devoted friend and a child who often puts their loved ones above themself and they are one of those people who give second chances too easily

EMILY has a big heart filled with compassion, kindness, empathy and loyalty. ALISON described them as someone who could see the good in people and the light in the world, even if anyone else would say that the place they are in is pitch black. As a teenager, EMILY was shy and introverted and never really dated anyone. All time focused on swimming in the club that is probably the biggest part of their life. They care deeply for their friends and will do anything to keep them safe. They most of the time were at home with only their mother because father as a soldier is not very often at home, but this didn't changed the fact that he is the closer parent to them. They are probably the worst in lying in the group

Their parents seem like the perfect family that will support each other in ever situation. After ALISON went missing, they and her family went to Iceland to just take a break from what happened to their child, but will it change anything when they decide to return to the city? And is that family really that perfect like others think? they are a very creative person who is not afraid of new challenges or standing out of the crowd. often if you have to suddenly choose someone for some unsafe thing, they go because they are confident they can do it.

At their core, MONA is a self-conscious person. This developed after they were bullied and rejected by Alison in middle and high school because of the way they looked. MONA began to be unhappy with their life and focussed solely on the idea of being part of that group. Although they doesn't show this side of themselves in public, it's why MONA felt a desire to remain popular, beautiful, and being best friends with Hanna after ALISON disappeared was helping a lot. MONA is a brilliant young person who can speak French, hack computers, and do voice impressions but this side also is hidden under a lot of make-up and clothes because isn't being smart kinda lame?
