Chapter 8

Dante wouldn't let Jax go, no matter how much a quiet guy like Jax could protest. Jax knew Dante had a plan in mind, and from past experiences, there would be no changing his mind. Dante explained his plan to Jax a couple of times over, but Jax tuned him out as much as he could after the first explanation.

Dante was apparently wanting this power trio to dominate this competition, but Jax was shocked when it didn't involve the first ranked. Instead, it involved the fifth ranked, Bishop. Jax was wanting to get introduced to Bishop, but she had that aura that reeked of not wanting to be disturbed. Jax almost smiled at the thought of Dante getting rejected by a girl for once in his life.

"Well, let's go over to her," Dante said "Come on!" Dante's grip on Jax's wrist tightened to the point that when Dante finally released him, a ring of pale purple was left behind.

With narrowed eyes, Jax looked at Bishop, but Bishop looked back with slitted ones. "So, why are you here? Do you need something? Because if not, I'd like to enjoy my last drink in a while, at least until I win."

Bishop was wearing a black dress that faded into a dark red as if she were a dying ember coming back to life. Her outfit was a gothic Victorian theme from the red rose on the black lace bracelet to the red and black lace heels to her black diamond earrings that danced on her ears. And, of course, to top it all off, she wore a dark red lipstick that was just as bold as her personality.

Dante smiled and said "I couldn't agree more. Why don't we enjoy as many drinks as we can while we have this ultimate thirteen alliance? You might have to drink quick, depending on how many you're wanting." Dante's flamboyant and confident mood completely vanished and how came a sly and fox-like person with whiskers that could draw blood.

Bishop put down her drink, which was already almost empty. "What are you wanting exactly? I think you already know that I work by myself and alone. So, don't say anything stupid to embarrass yourself in front of me." Bishop caught one of the servers一that were robots一to pick up another drink. She placed it to her glossy lips and downed the entire glass in one tilt of the head.

Jax knew that this was going to happen; it seems that he's smarter than Dante in almost everything. Jax heaved a sigh and grabbed Dante's arm. "Let's go. She has no intention of complying with your little plan," he growled in Dante's ear, now facing away from Bishop. When Dante didn't respond, Jax turned to look at him, but all Jax saw was a man overcome with a desire that swept over all senses.

With the curl of the edge of his lips, Dante said, "How would you like to become part of something so deadly that everyone here, included number one, will fear us?"

Bishop tilted her head towards Dante with a feline look in her eyes and the way she held her hands一she made it seem like her nails were claws that were just extensions of her body, which is that same way an assassin would think about their daggers.

"I'm listening," she said with a certain purr to her voice. It was seductive but not flirty. She was simply trying to seduce out their secrets.

"What if we became a trio? Just us after the main thirteen break off. After maybe five or six are left, we break apart and fight for yourself. Whatcha think, Miss. Fifth?" Dante had a way of inciting the most cool and calm people that seemed to just bewilder Jax.

"Okay, sounds good to me," Bishop said quickly as she picked up the drink she left earlier and sucked the last few drops out of the glass.

"Perfect. Bye now!" Dante smiled with now a fun and innocence seeming smile that Jax now had to get used to. Jax found Dante quite draining, having to deal with all his personality changes and switches, but what could he do? Jax isn't much of a team player, but he can't stand the idea of the world working against him. All he needs is that one person, but the world is working against him in that regard.

Pulled away from Bishop, who gave him a short and simple wave with what seemed like a sneer on her face, Jax found himself alone again, even if he just listed into the deadliest trio ever formed.
