The beat kept bouncing off the walls, a bunch of styro cups were scattered on the floor, pizza boxes lying everywhere.
He was at a party. A College party.
This was the first term party of the year thrown for freshmen. The majority pretty much agreed this was an awesome start for their first time here. They may have stressed a lot, thinking how they could possibly pass the entrance exam for this college, but all that has been forgotten. Thankfully, the senior council's plan on that had worked.
Meanwhile, in the midst of all the fun, there was Park Jimin, looking through the crowd only to spot his friend (since highschool) Kim Taehyung, drinking by himself. Little did they know, it wasn't beer he was after. In fact, only Jimin knew how much his best friend had hated beer his whole life.
"Ey, buddy." Jimin approached his brown-haired friend with a slight nudge to the elbow for contact. "Cool party, huh?"
Taehyung didn't bother to look up, only because he was busy trying to not feel queasy because of too much pizza, perhaps. "I guess. You just forced me to come here, anyway." Jimin chuckled at his friend's statement, lightly patting him on the back.
"Come on, it's worth it."
He hung out by the sofa, chugging down his drink. But something caught his eye—and it was a blonde-haired girl hanging out by herself by the bleachers (since the party was held in the gym).
She was beautiful. It was the first thing that came to his mind.
Jimin didn't have the reputation as a playboy or anything, but he certainly dated a few ones back then. She caught his eye; and he was still contemplating whether he should approach her or what.
"Found someone yet?"
The shorter one jumped out of surprise from his best friend.
"Tae, don't do that!" Jimin exhaled a lot of breath, only to see that she had disappeared from where he was gazing upon her. "Damn it."
"Geez, sorry." Taehyung swallowed the whole cup he had refilled earlier then went to the dance floor to party. "But, hey, might as well enjoy this to the fullest. Come on!"
Jimin was forced to come along since Tae was being persistent, pushing him into the middle of the room. But as soon as the music started, he lost control. He kept up with how the music was being involved with his body movements. The crowd roared at his talent; with Taehyung joining in the noise, even splashing him with what's left of what he was drinking.
Jimin took the night away with his dancing.
He laid his back on the couch, completely exhausted. His breathing pattern changed as well, and Taehyung had his back. "Now, that's how you party."
Suddenly, Taehyung spotted a certain blonde girl clapping in amazement at Jimin's performance. He chuckles at the thought, patting his best friend on the back. "Hey, I'm gonna get us some chips and dip, alright? Better hurry up and find that someone you were looking at earlier." With a wink, he disappeared from the scene.
And in came the blonde he was looking for.
To Jimin's surprise, he stood up, clearing his throat at the sight. "H-Hey."
"Hi." she greeted simply.
"So, uh, having a good time?"
"Actually, I had a great time! Thanks to your dancing."
The boy laughs nervously. He doesn't know what to say even though he was used to receiving praises for his talent. "Thanks. Do you dance?"
"I guess you could call me an aspiring dancer." She flips her hair, but she didn't mean to. It looked aesthetic in Jimin's perspective. All she did was to get the uncomfortable weight off her shoulders but never knew it caught the boy's attention more.
"Uh, well, we have that in common." The boy kept fighting over himself inside his head, trying to figure out what the next best topic or move would it be to keep this conversation going.
"It was nice talking to you, but I have to go. I have a curfew, so.." She carefully tucks a strand of hair behind her ear as she bit her lower lip, anticipating for Jimin's response.
"Hey, it was a pleasure. By the way, my name is Park Jimin."
"I'm Lisa Manoban. Call me Lisa." With that said, she waved goodbye, turning her back around from the boy with a wide smile spread on her face.
Meanwhile, Jimin was still caught up with their encounter. He was infatuated.
"See you around." He chuckles to himself as he tried to get through the crowd to look for Taehyung.
But instead he found himself bumping into someone he used to know back then. "Oh, sorry."
She nodded it off, saying. "It's fine. I'm fine." Then went the other way to avoid him.
Frustratingly, he rubbed his temples and sighed in exhaustion. "Of course she's here."
