2 weeks later
San releases a long sigh as he pulls back his bangs then slips on his baseball cap. Then he does a quick once over on his appearance in the mirror.
That's when San's dad's voice booms up the stairs. "San come on you're gonna miss your flight!"
"Coming!" He hurriedly throws the strap of his duffle back on his shoulders, grabs his phone and rushes down the stairs where his dad was folding his arms with a raised brow.
San just smiles playfully at him. "I'm ready"
"Get your butt in the car" He jokingly pushes him out the door then locks the door.
San laughs light heartedly as he made his way down the small stairs and towards the open boot of the car which had his suitcases. He throws in his duffle bag and shuts it.
Then he got in the back of the car, meeting Wooyoung who glances at him with an awkward smile before looking away. Wooyoung's mother sat up front in the passenger's seat, absentmindedly scrolling through her phone then finally her husband opens the door to the drivers seat and hops in, shaking the car slightly.
They were on the way to the airport to drop San off who was taking a flight to Gyeongsan for university. The car ride was mostly quiet and things with Wooyoung were still a bit.. tense.
Though it'd only been 2 weeks since both their breakdowns at least they were talking again. Of course it was mostly awkward small talk but it's better than nothing. Now there they were, spending their last moments for a long while together in the back of their dad's car in complete silence. Both boys looking out the window on either side of the car and a good amount of space between them.
Finally they arrived at the destination and as predicted finding a parking spot was a nightmare. Eventually San's dad finds an underground lot to park, pays for a 3 hour ticket and begins helping San get his stuff from the back.
Wooyoung gets out the car to help too. He reaches for San's duffle bag as the same time as San did and their hands touched. They both retract their hands instinctively. "Shit sorry" Wooyoung laughs at himself, brushing his long bangs behind his ear.
San smiles a little while taking his bag. "No that's my bad" Just then his phone buzzes loudly from his hoodie pocket. San quickly takes out the device eager to escape the awkward atmosphere with Wooyoung.
It was Hongjoong and he doesn't think twice about answering the call. "Hey hyung, you here yet"
"Yeah I'm inside. Where are you guys?"
"We just found a parking spot. We'll meet up with you"
"Ok"
With that the call went off. San turns to his dad as he closes the boot of the car. "That was Hongjoong he's inside"
"Well then I guess we better going" He dusts his hand then helps San roll along one of his luggage. Hongjoong had agreed to meet them at the airport to see him off as well.
San hated airports because they were always so confusing. Despite the million and one signs put up it was always hard finding someone or figuring out where to go.
Finally they find Hongjoong but he wasn't alone. Beside him was his boyfriend, Seonghwa. They'd been seeing each other and the taller finally had the balls to ask Hongjoong out a few days ago.
Upon seeing San and his family walk up to them Hongjoong immediately envelopes his friend in a hug. "Ahh I'm gonna miss you a lot" He mutters.
"Yeah wish I could say the same to you" San says playfully and Hongjoong pinches his arm.
Everyone silently greets each other. Seonghwa and Wooyoung still weren't on speaking terms so if the atmosphere wasn't awkward before it sure as hell was at that moment.
As a group they slowly made their way towards the departure terminal until it was time for San to part ways with them. The whole time San and Hongjoong spoke and laughed with each other leaving Wooyoung to hover by himself staring at everything and anything he found interesting in order to keep himself busy.
At the departure gate Hongjoong sighs again and hugs him tighter this time. "Promise you'll call everyday?"
San wheezes at his tight hold whole chuckling. "I promise" Hongjoong releases him.
Everyone had their turn to give him a hug and say their goodbyes and then eventually it was Wooyoung's turn. "I guess this is it" Wooyoung starts with a small smile.
"Yeah" San plays with the strap on his duffle bag.
"Take care of yourself, ok?" Wooyoung shifts his gaze away from San's soft eyes. Though they was a shadow cast over his face due to the cap he was wearing Wooyoung still felt the back of his neck tingle from his beautiful gaze.
San nods curtly. "You too" His thin lips stretch into a genuine smile one that Wooyoung couldn't help but return.
San opens up his arms to hug him at the same time Wooyoung stretches out his hand for a handshake. San laughs at him. "Come here" He pulls his step brother in for a warm hug and Wooyoung gladly accept, wrapping his hand around San's torso.
Wooyoung felt his skin tingle and his breath hitch as he buried his face in San's shoulder. His warmth, his smell, Wooyoung was going to miss him a lot.
San wanted to places a kiss on his forehead but he knew that'd be too much especially with their parents being right there. So he settled for soaking in the last of Wooyoung's scent, the silky soft smoothness of his dark hair, his milky skin. He knew he'd probably miss him the most even if he wasn't ready to admit it or not.
Their hug definitely felt the longest. That's because neither boys wanted to let go. Eventually they did.
Wooyoung steps back awkwardly, stuffing his hands in his jeans pocket. "See ya" He nibbles on the inside of his cheek.
"The departure to Gyeongsan is leaving soon. Please make your way to window R6 to board your flight" A female voice calls out through the intercom.
"That's my flight" San gathers the last of his things then he gives one last wave at his dad and step mom, Hongjoong and Seonghwa then Wooyoung.
Wooyoung watches as he made his way towards a woman, showing her his passport. She stamps something in it then lets him through. He watches as San makes his way towards a corner before he throws Wooyoung one last smile then disappears around the wall.
For how long? He didn't know. But he hoped it wouldn't be very long because he already felt a dull ache in his heart at his absence.

If it wasn't already obvious this book is pretty much done. And... *drum roll* I would like to make a sequel 👩🏾💻 But only if y'all want it. I wanted to keep going with the anonymous stalker (who btw is someone we've met 🤭) thingy and woosan painfully splitting ways but realising they still love each other. If not I'm fine with ending it here. Idk I just felt like the book was getting too long lmao. Let me know what you think.
There's one more chapter I'm preparing then the final FINAL one will be the big seongjoong chapter I promised you guys. See ya Monday :))
