3. you're not my brother

Dinner eventually came to an end. San's dad payed for the meal and they all began walking back to their respective cars. Wooyoung and San walking ahead and both their parents trailing far behind them.

The walk with Wooyoung is silent. The cold winter air kissed and pinched at their skin repeatedly. Their breaths comes out in visible puffs of hot air.

"You don't talk much, do you?" Wooyoung decides to take the initiative by nudging San and using a lighthearted tone of speaking. "What? You got bad breathe or something?"

"What?" San is appalled at the rude comment.

"Relax, I was kidding. Get used to the teasing, love. We're going to be brothers after all" Wooyoung smirks slyly like he cracked the funniest joke.

That smug look did it for San. He stops in his tracks, grabs Wooyoung roughly by the arm and brings his face up against the younger. "You're not my brother and don't ever call me 'love'" He practically growls in Wooyoung's face.

Wooyoung just looks back at him dead in the eyes with that same amused smile. "Is everything alright?" Wooyoung's mother asks with concern, her arm looped with her fiancé's.

San doesn't say anything. He pushes past Wooyoung and continued on his way to his dad's truck. Wooyoung stares at the older's back as he walks off, his eyes slowly shift to San ass then he nibbles his bottom lip.

"Yeah.. everything's great" He responds with a calm smile.

San enters his dad's truck with an irritated sigh then he slams the door shut. Wooyoung's mom had parked behind them so San could see the younger male leaning on the his mom's car through the side view mirror. The boy looked so unbothered as he scrolled through his phone like he didn't just piss San off.

"Punk" San mutters under his breathe.

A few moments later, after both their parents had a minute of alone time and kisses goodnight, they part ways and go into their respective cars.

Hyesun goes into her car and Wooyoung follows with a small yawn. San watches him intently and Wooyoung glances back briefly at the truck. San felt his heart skip a beat because he would've sworn their eyes met in the mirror. Though it was probably just his imagination.

"I don't like him" San blurts out the second his dad steps into the car.

"Wooyoung?" Namkoong asks with a raised brow. He puts on his seat belt. "And why's that?"

"He's kind of asshole-ish"

"Language"

"Sorry, he just irritates me dad. Did you see the way he kept staring at me during dinner?"

His dad just shakes his head in disappointment as he drives back onto the road. "You're being dramatic. He's a nice kid, San. Stop being so stubborn will you?"

San just scoffs at his dad's dismissive response. "Nevermind" He mutters then looks out the window at all the moving trees and cars.

In Wooyoung's car his mom releases a long breath of air then pulls on her seatbelt. "Whew, what an eventful evening"

"So when are we moving in together?" Wooyoung was quick to ask and his mom looks at him with amusement. She turns on the car and shakes her head playfully.

"You seem more eager than me and I'm the one getting married" Wooyoung scoffs at her response and leans back in his seat. "Anyways it'll probably be after we get married"

"Which is?" Wooyoung pushes some more.

"We're still working on it. Marriages don't happen over night. That's another couple months of planning and phones calls and.." Wooyoung groans loudly, cutting her off.

She laughs heartily at him, glances at the boy them shifts her attention back to the road. "What do think of your future step father and brother?"

"I like him. San, I mean. He's.. interesting"

"You guys looked like you were arguing for second back there"

Wooyoung shakes his head and leans back into his seat, eyes watching the bright almost translucent moon as it followed them at every turn. "Nah.. just a little pre-sibling squabble" The corners of his lips lifts up ever so slightly in a small smile.

5 months later

The wedding day came quicker than anyone had expected. In the span of 5 months neither San or Wooyoung had contacted each other.

To San it almost felt like the dinner never happened. The bright sun flashes in his eyes as he steps out the house early that morning with his dad in other to arrive at the venue extra early. The cool June weather running a chilll down his spine.

He releases a loud sigh as he slams the car door close just as his dad enters the driver's seat. He briefly takes in his appearance in the side view mirror, then fluffs up his dark hair for the nth time that morning. He was clad in a classic iron pressed white dress shirt, black bow tie and black dress pants paired with dress shoes.

"Today's the day huh?" His dad says with a particular hint of excitement in his voice. San noticed it almost immediately. "I'm gonna be a married man tomorrow" He adds as if reassuring himself.

San just nods, flashes a tight lipped smile and looks out the window as they begin driving out of their apartment complex parking lot.

He would never admit it outloud but part of him had thought his dad and Hyesun would've broken up by now. He realizes how selfish he must sound but he didn't actually think they'd go through with the marriage. But there they were, minutes away from exchanging vows. It didn't seem real yet.

The morming goes by seemingly slow, that is until he noticed Wooyoung. The younger male didn't seem to have noticed him though. But to say San stared at him the whole time would be an understatement.

It felt like they were back in the restaurant meeting each other for the first time. The long haired male wore a slim fitting tux paired with a royal blue bow tie. His jet black hair, having grown a bit since they last met, bounced a little everytime he walked.

To be quite honest, a part of him thought the younger looked very sexy. Of course the second the thought came into his head he dismissed it. He didn't realize he was staring until Wooyoung looks in his direction and their eyes met for the first time that day.

San's expression becomes flustered and embarrassed, like that of child caught doing something wrong. Meanwhile Wooyoung simply smiles and waves shortly at him. San's lips forms a smile back on its own accord. He couldn't help it.

Before he knew it Wooyoung had already began making his way towards him, a cheery look on his face. "Hi" Was all he chirps.

"Hey" San returns the greeting.

"Still can't believe this is happening. I mean I love my mom but she goes through boyfriends like nothing. I didn't actually think they'd get married, y'know?" Wooyoung tries to make conversation.

San couldn't help but chuckle at his confession. "I feel the exact same way" This causes Wooyoung to smile back. But it wasn't just your average smile, it was a smile that had something else hidden in it. Something San couldn't quite pin point. At least that was his conclusion due to the fact that his heart was now hammering in his chest from just a single smile.

Eventually Wooyoung scampers off to greet an old relative, leaving San alone once again. The wedding started on as per schedule, Hyesun, and her husband-to-be, walked down the isle together and everyone was in awe of how great they looked together.

It had been a while since San had seen his dad that.. radiant. It was then that it finally clicked. He really does love her, huh? He smiles brightly, his heart swelling at the fact that his father had finally found true happiness.

The wedding had ended quicker than he expected and all the guests made their way to the reception hall while Hyesun went to change out of her gown and into something a little more party appropriate.

It was also at that time that San walked out the building to get a few minutes of air. Wooyoung notices him leave and so he excuses himself to his grandmother, picks up two cans of pop and follows the older outside.
