Wooyoung leans back, pulling his Canon camera back down from his eye line after having taken a couple pictures from a good distance of a butterfly resting in a petal of a bright purple flower.

He watches from where he was ducked behind the bush so as not to disturb the scenery. The butterfly twitches it wings a little and he brings the camera back up to his eye again to try and get a photo of if flying away.

Just then someone yells, "Boo!" behind him, startling the butterfly into taking off before Wooyoung could get a photo of it mid-flight.

"Aish- Felix..." Wooyoung whines in annoyance as he watches it fly off. He looks back at a giggling freckled male. He ran his hand through his blonde hair as he stood up from where he was squatting in order to sneak up on Wooyoung.

"You've taken enough photos. Let's go" Felix plays with a few of the stray black strands that escaped Wooyoung's small ponytail.

"There's no such thing as 'enough photos'" Wooyoung corrects as he too stands up straight then goes to scroll through the shots he took "Where's Mingi?" He asks as they begin walking back.

"Waiting at the car" Felix peeks over his shoulder to look at the pictures he'd taken.

Photography was an interest Wooyoung had picked up over the last couple months. At first it was more of a 'I just wanna take photos of pretty things' ordeal but it had cultivated into something he genuinely enjoyed. Sometimes driving up to an hour away from home just to arrive at a good spot for nature shots. It calmed him and it put him in a relaxed state of mind.

An escape, if you will.

That morning Felix suggested they went on a hike and Wooyoung pounced on the opportunity to bring his camera and take photos. "Ooh that really looks good" Felix comments when Wooyoung goes through the photos and lands on a wide angle photo of the river and the mountains as a backdrop. "Wow, that too. I keep saying you're seriously really good at this stuff. They all look great" He compliments again when Wooyoung scrolls and lands on a different photo, this one of a bird mid-flight.

"Aw thanks Lixie" Wooyoung's coos. He couldn't help but smile with pride at his work.

"Hurry up. I'm hungry as hell!" Mingi calls out to them from down the hill where he stood at the base of the hiking path.

"I hear Wooyoung's on the menu today" Felix calls back to him. He flashes Wooyoung a cheeky grin. And Wooyoung's brows scrunches with confusion at his comment.

"What are you talking about?" He mutters as he carefully turns off the camera, handling the object like it was his child.

Felix shoots him a look that says 'Really? You wanna act dumb?' But the truth was Wooyoung genuinely didn't have an idea what the blonde was referring to. "Honest to God I don't think I understand what you say half the time" Wooyoung's tone was nonchalant.

"I'm talking about the fact that you and Mingi have a thing going on" Felix whispers to him giddily as they got closer to the tall brown haired boy waiting at the foot of the trail with his hands in the pockets of his grey hoodie.

Wooyoung was taken back by his 'observation'. "Wait what?" He snaps his head, looking at him with an arched brow.

"You guys are always flirting and shit. I seen the way he looks at you too. God, it's so obvious. How have you never noticed?" Felix grins at him then elbows his arm gently.

"You're so delusional holy shit" Wooyoung snorts and laughs lightly at him as he hooked the strap of his camera around his neck. "He's just a really good friend. I mean you already know the story of how we met. He's seen me at one of my most vulnerable moments and we've gotten super close since then. There's no 'thing' between us" Wooyoung rolls his eyes at him.

Felix wasn't buying it though so he quietly voices another point. "Well what about today for example? I invited you only to go hiking but then you invited him.."

"Yeah because I thought it'd be kinda boring if I was busy taking my photos and you'd be alone so I figured it'd be nice for him to be around" Wooyoung's laughs and looks at his friend with genuine confusion as to where he was even getting all these ideas from.

"Seriously, there's nothing going. Now shut up before you make things weird between us" He whisper screams to Felix just as they stop in front of Mingi.

"What was that about Wooyoung being on the menu?" Mingi questions as they begin the short trek to the parking lot designated for people going up the hiking trails.

"It's nothing" Wooyoung flashes Felix a narrow eyed glare but the blonde just fought back a knowing smirk.

"You get enough pictures?" Mingi throws an arm over Wooyoung's shoulder, bringing his shorter frame into his side as they approached Felix's car.

It was a friendly gesture that Mingi has done numerous times and he hadn't thought much of it but after just having had that conversation with Felix he couldn't help but over analyze everything Mingi did. From the way he smiled at him to his body language. And so, for a hot second he began to wonder, 'Could Mingi really like me in that way?'. He shut that thought down quickly. No, I'm being really stupid right now... Ugh Felix sucks for planting those ridiculous thoughts in my head.

"Did I get enough pictures?" Wooyoung repeats the question out-loud. "Do you want me to answer that honestly or?" He jokes.

Mingi chuckles, his deep voiced laugh tickles a very specific part of Wooyoung's brain. "Fair enough"

"We should go to wingers, I think we drove by one on the way here" Felix says in a sing-songy voice as if to say he was right about his observation regarding Mingi.

Wooyoung had to bite back a scowl of annoyance at Felix's persistence on the topic as he entered the passenger's seat.

"I'm down" Mingi says as he pulls the door open to the back of the car.

"So what are you doing this summer Mingi?" Felix questions before he brings a fry up to his lips.

Mingi takes a sip of his iced tea as he looks up briefly in thought. Then he places the cup back down on the small booth they were seated in which was located in the corner of the restaurant. "Nothing really. Just working" He shrugs. "What about you? Going anywhere?"

Felix nods. "Yeah, going back to Sydney. Just gotta get through finals" He sighs loudly when he remembers he had an exam pending in the coming week.

Mingi nods in understanding. He shifts his gaze to Wooyoung who was seated opposite him and right beside Felix in the booth. "What about you?"

Wooyoung drops his eyes to the nearly finished burger in front of him. He subconsciously bites his bottom lip as he remembers his step father's plan for the summer. "I'm visiting my uh- my step brother in Gyeongsan for like a month. It's just me and my stepdad" He plays with the napkins on the table.

Felix looks over at him because, like Mingi, he was also just learning about his plans for the summer. "What about your mom? She's not going?"

"She has to work" He gives a small smile to Mingi who was just watching him.

"Do you not wanna go?" Mingi voices his thoughts after having observed how indifferent he sounded when he broke the news. Wooyoung immediately shakes his in disagreement.

"I do wanna go. Why wouldn't I?" He sounded defensive but Mingi just shrugs and held an amused smile on his plump lips. Obviously he hadn't told a soul about his... unusual relationship with San, his step brother. So it's not like he could confess to them and say 'I don't wanna go because my step brother and I used to hook up then we kinda dated? Then we broke up. It was messy and complicated and I know it's going to be so awkward, weird and uncomfortable staying with him for a month'

"Well I personally would be excited, I hear the beaches at Gyeongsan are stunning especially at night" Felix goes to town on his fries, stuffing one after another into his mouth.

"Oh yeah definitely-" Mingi starts but was cut off by the loud buzzing of Wooyoung's phone on the table. Wooyoung picks it up and saw that it was a text from Matthew. A frown forms in Wooyoung's lips and he immediately puts the phone back down.

"Sorry, continue" Wooyoung ushers then brushes a stray lock of hair from his over grown bangs and tucks it behind his ear.

Mingi resumes talking and Felix engages but it didn't take long before his phone buzzes again. And again. And again. A barrage of texts and loud buzzing hits his phone again at once. Wooyoung goes to take his phone and just turn the ringer off but Mingi was quicker. He snatches the boy's phone and turns it on to see who it was.

"Yah-" Wooyoung protests.

"I knew it" Mingi curses under his breath upon seeing it was none other than Matthew. "How are you still talking to this ass? You told me he wouldn't be a problem anymore"

"Yeah and he's not" Wooyoung reaches over and grabs his phone back.

"Is he not harassing you right now? What does he want?" Mingi's tone was accusatory.

Wooyoung had to remind himself to take a deep breath. "Nothing. It's nothing. And he's not harassing me" Wooyoung defends the man as if he was right there and in the room with them.

"Bullshit. God, Wooyoung I don't understand why you keep crawling back to that guy. He's hurt you over and over again and each time it ends up with you blowing my phone up, or Felix's phone, crying your eyes out. Do you understand how much it hurts me seeing you like that? Hearing you sound so broken during those phone calls? You need to cut him out of your life. That abusive POS isn't worth any more of your time, tears or energy" Mingi rants, a different type of frustration on his face.

"It's complicated" Was all Wooyoung could muster. "And I'm sorry my calls are such a bother" He pushes himself out of the booth.

Mingi sighs regrettably. "I- didn't mean it like that"

"Wooyo, we're just worried about you" Felix's voice was a lot more tender than Mingi's. But Wooyoung just ignored them both and beelines outside to wait inside the car.

He slams the car door shut, bringing the hood of his oversized black hoodie over his head and he dug his fingernails into his palm whilst biting down hard on his bottom lip to stop it from quivering.
