In celebration of World Photography Day, we are proud to commemorate our very first photography contest! *insert confetti showers and a Mariachi band playing in the background*
Let your creativity shine with our different prompts.

RULES:
1.Give this contest some love and make a shout-out on your Message Board.
2. Never bribe your judges.
3. Be nice and respectful. Bullying and rude comments will not be tolerated.

THE CATEGORIES
The contest is divided into 3 categories:
•Photo-Editing
•Photo-Retouching
•Photo-Manipulation
What's the difference you may ask, and why should you care?
Each category contains different levels of skill. Aside from that, they all have their own uses and techniques (refer to the table down below).
*BEWARE!*
Vectors and Use of Texts are discouraged. However, in the Photo-Manipulation category, texts can be used sparingly.
For Photo-Editing participants, the photo must be taken personally by you.
When using someone else's photo, make sure to mention the photographer who took it. It doesn't hurt to credit them for it.
WHAT TO SUBMIT?
→Original Photo in a Raw File Format (.RAW)
-the untouched and unedited version
-This will be used as the primary basis of your photo entry, and to ensure the authenticity and craftsmanship behind your finished work.
→Work File
-the layered image file where the editing took place
-The most common file format used is PSD (Fun Fact: Photoshop, Lightroom and Canva offer this format when saving).
-If you're unable to submit a PSD file, don't fret. Instead, submit a DOCX or PDF file containing screenshots of your work's timeline.
→Finished Work
-the actual image you are entering
-Orientation can be in portrait or landscape.
-Subjects can be expressed in different themes (e.g. portrait, architectural, nature, etc.).
-Image size must be at least 1080px (both length and width) with a 300dpi
-Maximum file size: 25 mb
-Finished work must be saved in one of the following image file formats in high resolution:
▶JPEG/JPG
▶PNG
-May contain a watermark, provided that the watermark does not detract the visual impact of the photo entry.
-File name must be in this format: <Category>_<Username>_<Title>
→Design Statement
-the piece that justifies your concept
-Statement must contain 2-5 sentences and covers the following components:
▶What is the subject?
▶How did you make it?
▶What is it about?
- Statement must be kept short and concise. Remember, your hero is your photo.
-Don't forget to include your title!

Failure to comply with all the requirements calls for immediate disqualification.
