Prologue

~(Y/N) POV~

Why's it so dark? I tried to move but the space was cramped. I started pushing at everything around me trying to escape. I burst out of the locker and fell on my face. I got up and rubbed my nose. "Oh, ow. That really hurt." I groaned. I looked around and tried to understand my surroundings. It looked like I was in a classroom. Wait, who am I? Oh that's right, I'm (Y/N) (L/N). I go by the title of the Ultimate Actress, but in reality I'm known as the Ultimate Magic Warrior. Okay, now where am I? That I can't answer because I don't know myself. I got up and balanced out. Okay, let's get moving. I starting walking and once I got out into the hallway a blond girl crashed into me. "Kaede!" A boy yelled. I got up quickly. "What's going on?!" I yelled. "Oh sorry." She said getting up. I calmed down quickly. "Oh, okay, sorry I yelled I thought you were running from something and I panicked." I said. "No it's fine, I should have watched where I was going." She said. "Anyway, I'm Kaede, the  boy behind me is Shuichi." She introduced. "Oh, I'm (Y/N)." I said. "Nice to meet you (Y/N). Also I like your scarf." Kaede said pointing to the (F/C) and black checkerboard scarf that I always wear. "Thanks." I said. After that I just stuck with them. I learned their talents and personalities too. We met up with all kinds of different people, most of which I found very sketchy. Rantaro and Angie among them. Tsumugi was suspicious. Himiko was adorable. Tenko was alright but I would prefer to keep my distance. I liked Maki since she was quiet but something was off about her. I found Ryoma interesting. I didn't care for Miu that was for sure. I was keeping mental count of how many people we had come across. According to Shuichi there are 17 ultimates here. We were missing six.

"Hey guys we're missing six ultimates." I said. "Are we?" Kaede asked. Me and Shuichi nodded. They began searching classrooms while I looked over my Monopad. I hung behind the two but was still following them. I wonder about Kaede's dislike of bicycles. I thought. I was reading the report card thing on the Monopad. Kaede and Shuichi had gotten ahead of me so I walked faster. "Kokichi I don't really understand your Supreme Leader talent." Kaede said. I walked into the room. "Oh, I'm just the leader of an evil organization that's all." A purple haired teen said. Strange. His scarf looked like mine. Shuichi was lost in thought and Kaede gasped. "Yeah it's pretty impressive, it has over 10,000 members." He said. "I've never heard of an organization that big..." Shuichi mumbled to himself. "Or, maybe it doesn't. Who knows? I'm a liar after all." He said with a mischievous glint in his eyes. His gaze met mine. "Nee-heehee, and who might this be?" He asked. I found him interesting. "(Y/N) (L/N), The Ultimate Actress." I said giving him a bow. I stood up straight, "And you are?" I questioned. "Kokichi Oma, Ultimate Supreme Leader." He said putting his arms behind his head. "Hmmm, noted." I said. My dark (E/C) eyes met his purple. They held mischief, and mystery. But his smile seemed familiar to me somehow. My gaze drifted around the room and landed on a boy with white hair and weird clothes. But then I realized that I sensed no soul and smelt no blood. "Whoa is that a robot?" I questioned. He started stuttering random gibberish that went over my head completely. I gathered that I was either being lectured or I had offended him somehow.

I brushed it off and yawed, getting bored I walked over and slapped my hand over his mouth. "Calm down, everything you are saying is just going over my head. I'm going to remove my hand and your going to state your name and talent, understood?" I questioned. He nodded. I removed my hand. "I am K1-B0, the Ultimate Robot, but please refer to me as Keebo." He said. I nodded and sat at one of the desks seeing as I had no one else to speak to. Everyone was just stareing at me. "What?" I questioned. I shook my head. "You know what? Drop it. I'm going to explore a little more. Hopefully I won't run into anyone." I growled. "Whoa, (Y/N) what has gotten into you? We haven't even gone outside yet." Kaede asked sounding shocked. "I'm an actress, I act. I put up one face for some people, and another for someone else. My personalities and mood change all the time, it's like my challenge to the world. Try to find out my true personality, and trust me that's difficult. And besides I'm not a fan of going outside." I said. I chuckled seeing her confused expression. "It means she's a liar, and what you saw isn't her at all, and something tells me this isn't the true her either." Kokichi translated. "Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!" I said in a cheerful announcer voice. He smirked, I could tell a lot from this. He's saying, challenge excepted.

Shuichi and Kaede left leaving me with Kokichi and Keebo. Kokichi continued to harass the poor robot until eventually Keebo tried to run. He darted out the door and Kokichi gave chase. "Hey (Y/N) help me catch Keeboy!" Kokichi said as he ran out the door. I decided to help him considering I had nothing else to do. We spent sometime chasing Keebo. I actually had fun running around the academy. Best part is I didn't have to slow down much because Kokichi was pretty fast. Like seriously how does he run so fast? We eventually cornered Keebo but then he discovered he could go outside. I didn't give chase after that. I actually made my way to the gym. On my way there I thought about the people I've met. I couldn't shake the feeling that I had met Kokichi somewhere before. I just waited in the gym, eventually everyone else was called to the gym as well. Once they showed up stuff went down. I'll give you a quick recap.

Let's see, five teddy bears are in giant robots and can easily kill us. Wait nope they start fighting. Another teddy bear interjects. Name, Monokuma. Referring to one of the Monokubs statements he elaborates on this 'Killing Game' that we are to participate in. I just chuckle under my breath. "What? What's so funny?" Monokuma asks. "Oh, nothing, it's just you really think we would kill eachother? Lol, that's the funniest thing I've heard all week. I mean come on, we harbor no malice towards eachother, half the people here wouldn't be able to stomach killing someone, some of them are just to stupid, and the rest that would be able to kill someone and get away with it are just to stubborn to kill. But then again some people here have others to get back to so I can't really speak for them. But when it comes down to it, no one comes to mind for me so yeah good luck." I said. That's a lie. Someone does come to mind. I thought. With that I turned around and walked out the gym doors not even bothering to look back at them. Ugggg, booooring. I pulled out my Monopad and started researching my fellow students and looking over the map of the school. There were a few people I didn't know so hopefully the report card thing can help with that. Thankfully it had all the information I needed. I now knew who to avoid and who I could talk to.

I sighed, what to do, what to do? Oh, maybe booby trap the dining hall so that when the others enter they get hit with glitter bombs? Tempting, but no it would be to obvious since I'm the only one alone right now. Besides where would I get glitter bombs in this joint? Let's see, there's got to be something I can do. I noticed on the map there was a room in the basement that was marked with a star. "Welp that seems interesting." I said making my way down there. Once I made it down there I went to the room. It looked cool. The door was (F/C) with a (SF/C) star on it. I gripped the doorknob and twisted it when I was interrupted by. "RISE AND SHINE URSINE!" I groaned in annoyance. The Monokubs explained that this was an ultimate lab. It was a place for me to hone my talents. I smiled, this might be fun. Once the left I opened the door and almost fainted. It looked like a real theater. Only what would be red was (F/C) and the floor was a checkerboard pattern. (If red is your favorite color ignore the (F/C)) There were dressing rooms behind stage and a costume rack. I also looked at a panel and low and behold the stage could change to different settings. Sunset, moonlight hill, town, city streets at night, detective office, and villain lair. Wow these are all my favorites. I thought. I switched it to the villain lair setting and watched as the stage changed into a dark (F/C) room with black and (SF/C) details. On top of some stairs was a black throne with (F/C) cushions. Below it was a dining table already set with dishware and at the head of the table was a large chair with it's back to the throne. The setting itself was dark and it matched the character I would play in this scene. I went backstage and found the costume I was looking for. Strangely enough it looked a little like Kokichi's uniform. It came with a dark (F/C) cape that had a (SF/C) underside, (F/C) masquerade mask with black detail, and some (F/C) gloves. It used high heel black boots that matched. I also had a sword sheathed on my side to complete the look. I walked onto stage and didn't notice the shocked eyes that followed my movements from the door. My eyes had gone full actress mode. I saw an entire crowd out in the seats. I faced the imaginary audience with a smile.

"Ladies and Gentlemen!" I declared letting my voice ring out loud and clear. "My name is (Y/N) (L/N), The Ultimate Actress. Now some of you may know me as the crazy actress that loves to play the villain of the story...You would be correct in that statement!" I said shrugging with a playful but carefree smile and wink. "So today I will be preforming as one of my favorite characters from my favorite movie that I have acted in, I'm sure some of you have heard of it before." I paused for dramatic effect. "I will be playing Phantom, Leader of the Masquerade. And let me tell you I love this character and I was so happy to play her. That is the true joy of acting, bringing a character you love to life." I said. I took a bow and put on the mask. I walked up and sat on the throne letting my cape rest neatly beside me. My (E/C) eyes appeared to be shining under the mask. I looked up now in character. "Greetings." I said in a dark and smooth voice that held mischief but also carefree playfulness. I crossed my legs, smirked, and tilted my head to the side in a playful manor. "My name is Phantom, I'm the leader of an elite group of thieves called The Masquerade. Maybe you've heard of us? Oh who am I kidding you must have heard a rumor at least." I said chuckling. "As you could probably tell, I am female. Surprising no? That's the best part, nobody expects a girl to be a leader of evil!" I said bursting out laughing. "Trust me it's hilarious seeing Detective Brown and his comrades running around chasing their tails! Oh? Who's Detective Brown you ask? Why he's the detective who was assigned to my case! Don't tell anyone but I'm actually nervous that he's going to find me one day! I know strange right? The thing is he's a lot more clever than the other detectives they have down there so it's not a stretch that he might piece my clues together. Trust me that's the only time you'll hear me of all people praise a detective." I said rolling my eyes. I then shrugged again, "Who knows I might be giving him to much credit, after all it's not like he's about to burst through that door-" I was cut off by clicking a button causing the sound effect of a door flinging open. "Uh oh, welp I need to scram. Don't go anywhere." I said with a wink as I jumped down off the throne and onto the ground below. I lowered my voice to make it sound like a male's. "Freeze Phantom!" I shouted making it sound like it came from the other end of the stage. I turned around with a wild smile and bright eyes. "Ha! Make me Brown! You'll never catch me!" I shouted as I ran off stage. Once I got backstage I found a convenient water bottle and got a drink. I switched the stage setting to detective office. I walked onto stage but made it seem like I entered through the window. I took a bow not even noticing the 16 people in the front row. "Act two." I said. I sat in the office chair and acted like I was typing away at the computer. "Alright let's see what Brown has on me here." I said a look of concentration on my face. "Yeah, 'Hey Phantom we need you to run and hack a computer from the detective building and download a few files great? Great!" I said in a mocking tone.

I huffed, "I'm the one who leads round here I shouldn't be the one risking my life!" I spat angrily. But then I sighed and smiled. "But that's just the kind of leader I am. No matter how someone views me I truly do care about the people in my little group of thieves and I'd rather die then let anything happen to them." I said sadly. Those words carried more emotion than intended, geez it's almost like that's how I actually feel. I'm called the Ultimate Actress for a reason. I shook my head to clear it. I sent a few more minutes acting out a few scenes as Phantom. Once I was done I walked back out to stage, it had been set back to villain lair. I took a bow. "Unfortunately that's all I have for today Ladies and Gents, but like always I'd like to thank you for coming out to see me preform. You are all wonderful people and I hope to see you all real soon!" I said standing up straight and opened my arms as if to bath in the spotlight. I heard applause, it took a minute to register that it was real and right in front of me. My eyes widened as I saw I was getting a standing ovation from my classmates. I was shocked, "Wha-What the hell!? When the heck did you get here!?" I shouted. "Nee-heehee, we've been here for a while!" Kokichi said with his normal grin. "(Y/N) that was amazing!" Kaede chimed in. "Now I remember why you looked so familiar, you played the lead role in my favorite movie!" Shuichi said with a smile. "Spectacular performance. I was truly impressed." The one named Korekiyo said. "Eh? It was alright I guess." Miu said crossing her arms and rolling her eyes. I smiled glad the mask covered the blush on my face. I took another bow. The moment I stood up I was tackled by a flying purple blur. The force of the blow was enough to knock me to the ground. I sat up to realize I had been tackled by Kokichi. I actually didn't mind, it felt right somehow, like this was normal. So I just laughed, after all this was hilarious and adorable. So I just laughed, not evilly, not crazily, just joyful laughter. Everyone else joined in finding it funny too, except Tenko. She didn't approve. I smiled happily for the first time in who know's how long. "Omigod, that was adorable!" I choked out. "That was the idea!" Kokichi said smiling. He was still hugging me. And it still felt normal. I just wish it could stay like this.
