*sigh*
Okay. Its unbecoming of an author to snap at her readers. But I'm tired of hearing the same old comments over and over again.
Look I understand that I can't please everyone with how I wrote (Y/N)'s character, but understand that calling her a "Mary Sue" is very insulting to me as an author. In fact, accusing anyone's character as a "Mary Sue" or "Gary Stu" is very offensive and insulting, and it can completely ruin the book for others or deter the author from writing the story. So please don't do that to me or to anyone else. You may not realize how much damage you could be doing. Polite constructive criticism is welcomed, but the keyword there is to be polite when trying to correct someone. I can understand that some may snap at you, most authors will rush to the defense of their character or work and snap at anyone who tries to correct them on anything really. I held off on making this note for a long time because I didn't want to be one of those authors. But I've had enough of people calling (Y/N) a Mary Sue. I took very careful consideration into how (Y/N)'s character is, and how she would be developed in this story. Multiple times I've gotten the same comments about how people don't like (Y/N)'s character. Well tough toenails, I wrote her that way for a reason.
For any new reader, stop here, and continue on with the story. There are a few spoilers up ahead for this story. Just understand why I'm putting this out there. I don't want to hear comments that's already been commented twenty times over already. Please be polite and respectful. I spent almost an entire year working on this story and it honestly really annoys me to see so many people calling the character I spent time creating a "Mary Sue" when in reality a Mary Sue is a female character that's loved by everyone, perfect in every way with no flaws, and can do everything. (Y/N) isn't like that. And for those of you that can put two and two together, congrats. You have brain cells. I don't want to see comments constantly pointing out mistakes in the book. I don't mind the occasional joke, but jokes get old over time when you've heard them a million times before. I love reading comments. I try to read every comment I get. But be polite...try not to always point out mistakes, it tends to make me feel self conscious... Just step back, let things slide, throw away logic, and enjoy the story. Please give it a chance...honestly this is probably one of the better books I've written despite it being the second x Reader I've ever made.
For any reader that may be rereading this story, you can go ahead and continue. I doubt any haters will look into this more than skimming or actually take my words seriously, but I feel the need to put this out there anyways.
(Y/N) has flaws. She acts the way she does as a way of protecting herself. Sprinkled throughout the book, you will see that she has times of emotional weakness. Times when her mask splinters and cracks. Times when she just can't hold up the front in front of people anymore. (Y/N) is a vampire that's been alive for along time. She's picked up a lot of skills, learned a lot of things, and she's carefully crafted a mask to wear in this time of the killing game. Some of that mask is forged with her actual personality, but keep in mind, (Y/N) has admitted that she's created many masks to wear before. For every single Eve she's had she's had to be someone different. And only Kokichi wanted the real her. At that point in time, she wasn't sure who the real her was anymore. But Kokichi wanted honesty. He helped (Y/N) find herself, and this book is a journey about her opening up to others, besides just Kokichi. This is a book that follows as closely to the plot as I can get it while throwing in an immortal, sarcastic, wise cracking vampiric wild card that has problems with authority. A lot of my books you can honestly forget that its an x Reader at times. And I know I can't please everyone....but I try my best to get as close to pleasing everyone as I can. So just...chill okay? If you love this book, I'm glad you like it. If you don't like it, I'm sorry but this just isn't the book for you. Maybe you'd like one of my other stories on this profile? Feel free to browse, I write a lot of books...
