I yawned and slowly opened my eyes, coming face to face with a set of dark purple. I just stared back completely silent. "Wowwww, you didn't scream or shout! That's a first!" Kokichi said with his normal grin. "Kokichi." I said slowly. "How da f*ck, are you in my room?" I asked sitting up forcing him back. "Nee-heehee, lock picking is my specialty you know." He said. I chuckled a little. "Fine I'll give you that." I said. "Not even concerned that I broke into your room, that's also a first." He said. "So you do this often?" I questioned. "What! Nooooo." He said. "Lies." I growled playfully. "So, why are you in my room?" I questioned. "Oh, you overslept and everyone was worried. I came here to make sure you weren't dead and it seems you're alive." He said. "I overslept? That's unusual. Typically I'll wake up before the morning announcement...unless...." I trailed off as color faded from my face. "Oh God, is it Monday?" I asked. He shrugged. "No idea. I mean it's not like we have calendars here." He said bluntly. I got ready while he just sat on my bed. I went into the bathroom and got changed. I yawned suddenly. Yep it's Monday alright. "So why did you come to check on me?" I questioned stepping out of the bathroom. "______________________________?" He questioned. I froze on the spot. Then chuckled. "How long? When did you find out huh?" I questioned. "Well it was kinda obvious after watching my motive video." He said. I laughed. "Well, good on you for finding out, let's burn this killing game to the ground shall we?" I questioned. "We shall." He said jumping off of my bed and walking with me to the dining hall. Everyone was there and waiting. "Sorry I'm late. So what I miss?" I questioned. "Ummm, Himiko now worships Atua apparently." Shuichi said. I snickered. "Oh wow Tenko must be taking this really hard huh?" I questioned. I looked over at the girl. She looked like she was glitching out. Me and Kokichi both laughed at this. "Looks like she's glitching out!" Kokichi said. "Looks like Himiko got brainwashed!" I shouted. "Brainwashing! Why didn't I think of that!?" Kokichi shouted in his normal joking tone. Everyone gave us confused and disapproving looks. "Since when are you two friends?" Kaito asked. My laughter quieted down to a chuckle. "Well we do have a lot in common you know. It's funny really!" I said. "Wait, hold up. I just realized this. (Y/N), can you tell when he's lying?" Shuichi questioned. "Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner folks!" Me and Kokichi said in sync while clapping. "Shuichi is correct! I can see through him just as easily as I can everyone else's lies." I said. "You remember the saying..." Kokichi said with a smirk. "Liars know liars after all!" We cheered in unison. Everyone was confused but went back to their conversations as Kirumi brought out food. I heard a few mentions of a flashback light and new areas. "Hey what's everyone talking about?" I whispered to Kokichi. "Oh riiiiight you left before all that." He whispered back then explained it all to me. I nodded but then decided to leave. I made sure no one was looking and went to my dorm. I made sure the door was locked behind me. I sat at my desk and made a list of things that I needed to remember. Himiko's magic show. Flashback lights (which I do not trust.) And of course I need to look at the new areas too. 

As I was writing this down on paper it all came crashing down on me. The stress of being in the killing game. The stress of everyone hating you. And not knowing what I can do to protect him. Put my head in my hands and just sat there thinking. I'm going to be targeted sometime. I mean everyone hates me so...My thoughts trailed off as the doorbell rung. I put on my masking smile. I opened the door, it was Kirumi. "Hey (Y/N) can I get some assistance in the dining hall please?" She asked. I nodded. "I'll be over in a minute." I said. She thanked me and gave me a quick bow before leaving. After a few minutes I went over to the dining hall and helped Kirumi clean up since she had a lot of stuff to do. "The others rely on you a little too much Kirumi." I said. "How do you stand it?" I asked. "I'm used to it." She said with a chuckle. Kirumi is a calm soul who doesn't break under pressure. She's a good person to talk too when you need to calm down. After me and Kirumi were done cleaning she went off to do her other tasks. I decided to explore the new areas. A few research labs, the pool, and a casino? When I went into the casino I saw Kaito, Shuichi, Kokichi, Kiyo, Miu, and Ryoma. All of which seemed to be playing the slot machines. After Ryoma won they started to tease Kaito and then played again. Ryoma won again. "Luck alone does not produce consistent results such as these Ryoma." Kiyo said suspicion clear as day in his voice. Kaito was being teased by Kokichi again. I chuckled to myself drawing everyone's attention. "Oh, when did you get here (Y/N)?" Shuichi asked. "Awhile ago." I responded. "(Y/N)! There you are I've been looking everywhere for you!" Kokichi shouted running over to me. "Did you check my room?" I asked. "Yes! And your lab and the library! Where the heck were you!?" He asked. "I was helping Kirumi clean the dining hall. Poor girl had enough to do already so I thought I'd help." I answered. "Reallllly? That doesn't sound like you." He said. "So? Anyone can change." I said. He tilted his head to the side. "You've been acting a little off today. Is something wrong?" He asked. "No, I'm fine. Nothings wrong, you're just over thinking things like always." I lied rolling my eyes. "HEY I DO NOT OVERTHINK THINGS!" He shouted. He threw a tantrum. I facepalmed and gave the others a 'help me' look since I was not in the mood to deal with this. They just snickered and laughed. I sighed and bonked Kokichi on the head getting him to shut up. "Hush it. Save your energy for the plan. Speaking of should we do that today?" I asked. He went back to normal. "Hmm, maybe. Something tells me we might not get a chance tomorrow thanks to Himiko's magic show." He said looking deep in thought. "What the hell are you two f*ckers talking about!?" Miu shouted causing me to glare at her. "Eppp! What's with that look I was only asking!" She said frantically. I sighed and facepalmed again. I hate her, so much. I thought a growl rising in my voice. "Hey (Y/N)!" Kokichi shouting jumping up and waving a hand in my face. "Ah, sorry. What were you saying?" I asked returning my attention to him. His turn to sigh and facepalm. "If this becomes a regular thing I swear." He said to himself. He looked back up at me. "Come on. We have a plan to put into motion." He said grabbing my wrist and dragging me with him. "Hey!" I shouted. He ignored me. 

~Shuichi's POV~

I was a little worried about this plan they mentioned but I was more concerned about what kind of relationship those two have. (Y/N) did side with him sure but their bond seems to have grown. It's like (Y/N) can tell what he's thinking. Also what's this weird purple thing I see between them? Anytime they stand together I swear I can see something purple connecting them. What's up with that? I was so lost in thought I didn't notice that everyone left except Kaito. "Hey Shuichi. You okay there bro?" Kaito asked putting his hand on my shoulder. I jumped a little but relaxed realizing it was just him. "Oh, umm, yeah. I'm fine. Just thinking." I said with a nervous smile. He looked skeptical but shrugged. "Alright, if you say so. I trust you." He said with a smile. After he left I just stood there thinking. I made my way back to my dorm. I got bored so I decided to go out and see who I could talk too. I found (Y/N) in the AV room. "Hey Shu." She said once I entered the room. "Shu? And how did you know it was me?" I asked. "It's just a nickname don't worry. And I can always tell who's coming." She answered simply. She looked over her shoulder to look at me. "You seem more confident." She said suddenly. "Huh?" I questioned. "Your stance, aura, and speech are all a lot better than when we first met. You seem more confident in your abilities and that's a good thing. Not only that but you're doing a lot better with eye-contact." She said. She smiled a little. "It's nice to know that you're doing better. After all you're one of the only intelligent people in this stinking school." She mumbled that last part to herself but I still heard it. "Why have you been so cold to the others?" I asked. She flinched a little then sighed. She turned back around. "I guess the first case had more of an affect on me than I thought. Kaede was a good person. And Rantaro was nice too." She said her voice getting quieter. "Why's it always the kind one's that die first?" She asked so quietly I could barely hear it. "What was that?" I asked. She waved her hand dismissively. "It was nothing, no worries." She said. Her words brought me back to the first case. Making me remember odd stuff that happened. "Hey why did Kokichi say you smelled blood when me and Kaede came down?" I asked. She sighed again. "I have this ability to smell even the tiniest cuts and scrapes. I can smell blood from a mile away. Maki and Kokichi are the only one's who know this so don't tell anyone." She said. That set off a bunch of red flags for me. She can smell blood? Does that mean-. "By the way Shu. You mind putting a bandage on your knee? I can smell it from over here." She said suddenly. I smiled nervously. "S-sorry about that." I said. She tossed something small at me. I caught it. It was a small bandage. "You don't want it to get infected okay? If you need some help disinfecting I'm sure Kirumi has something for you." She added. "Thanks (Y/N)." I said. "No problem. Just because I'm cold to people doesn't mean I'm cold to everyone." She said. "That reminds me of something else. Why are you and Kokichi so close?" I asked. She chuckled a little. "Like I said in the dining hall earlier we have a surprising number of things in common. For me he's easy to talk to. To be honest talking to him is like talking to you sometimes." She said. This shocked me. "Shocking right? But if you get to know him he's very intelligent and stays focused. He's a logical thinker, and he knows when to have fun too. It's not that shocking that we get along." She explained. "Like me?" I questioned bringing her back to her earlier statement. "Like I said he's a logical thinker. He may seem goofy and childish but that means you just haven't seen his serious side yet. Try and watch me and him if we ever play chess and you'll see what I mean." She said. Chess? I thought. She looked on the clock on the wall. "You should get going. Don't you have training with Kaito?" She asked with a smirk. "How did you...?" I asked trailing off. "I like to keep tabs on people I'd consider friends or at least allies. Now go on or else you'll be late." She said. "R-right!" I said leaving the room. Once I got back to my dorm I waited. A few seconds later the doorbell rang. One thing led to another and now I'm running from Gonta.        

~Your POV~    

I yawned while waiting in Gonta's lab. Tsumugi, Keebo, Tenko, and Kiyo were just glaring at me and Kokichi. We were currently playing UNO on the ground. "Geez I don't know how the hell you convinced me to play this." I growled. He just smirked and claimed his victory. "There you won. Can I go now?" I asked, yeah I didn't really care at the moment so my head wasn't in the game like it usually is. "Umm, no! I need someone to protect me! I mean look at them!" He said pointing to the glaring people in the room. "They'll kill me any chance they get!" He said. I sighed in annoyance. Gonta came back with an unconscious Shuichi. I scolded him a little, he apologized, and Kokichi sent him back out to get the others. Me and Kokichi were both leaning over the unconscious detective. I was making sure he was alright. Kokichi was just being childish. "Kokichi what the hell are you doing?" I asked. "What's it look like I'm doing?" He asked. "Being childish. Let me make sure he's alright." I said with a sigh. "You're no fun." He pouted. "We'll play tag later." I added. "Okay!" He said cheerfully. He went back over to pick up the UNO cards while everyone else gave me a weird look. Shuichi started to stir. Once he opened his eyes I gave him a bright smile. "Mooooorning sleepyhead!" I said. "ACK!" He yelped sitting up fast. I rolled away before our foreheads met. "Note to self: Shu has fast reflexes when waking up." I said with a smirk. "What the? (Y/N)? Where am I?" He asked. I stood up and helped him up. "Hmm, my best guess would be hell." I said with a small smile. "Hell?" He questioned. He looked around. "I-is this...?" He trailed off as I walked back over to Kokichi's side. "Oh, you're awake? This is the Ultimate Entomologist's lab." Tsumugi said. "Ultimate Entomologist's lab? Why...?" He trailed off again as I silently high-fived Kokichi for a plan well executed. "Ah I remember. I was caught by Gonta and brought here." Shuichi said. "The same is true for all the rest of us. We were all seized by Gonta...and brought here." Kiyo said. "But Shuichi is the only one who got knocked out." Tenko added. "Gonta apologized for that." Keebo said. "A lot." I added rolling my eyes. No one seemed to hear me.  "What is this anyway...? Why did Gonta do this?" Shuichi asked. "It's...because of those two! He was provoked by...those two!" Tsumugi said pointing an accusing finger and me and Kokichi. Shuichi looked over at us with confusion written all over his face. "There's no use trying to escape. Gonta will just catch you again." Kokichi said with his hands behind his head and a grin plastered on his face. "Yeah, just bare with us for a while." I said with a very innocent smile...that hid so much laughter under it. 

Shuichi walked over. "Is this your doing? Did you two have Gonta kidnap us?" He asked. "Nee-heehee...He's so simple minded." Kokichi said. I wouldn't say that. He's just easy to manipulate. I thought with a smirk crossing my face. "As soon as we told him that everyone who hates bugs was trying to get rid of them...he starting crying and said that he would get you guys to love bugs...or something like that." He continued. "And that's why we're all here! Welcome to the mandatory Insect Meet and Greet!" I said with fake cheer. "Oh, Gonta thought up the name so if you don't like it voice your complaints to him." Kokichi added. "You're terrible. You tricked Gonta!" Tsumugi said. I scoffed. Like you have room to talk. I thought in annoyance. "Unfortunately I can't take credit for this wonderful plan. This evil and devious scheme is courtesy of my lovely assistant. Isn't that right (Y/N)?" Kokichi questioned looking at me with that normal look in his eye. I sighed switching back to a bored tone. "Yeah, yeah it was my plan. We were brainstorming so I just threw the idea in there." I said holding up my notebook. "Of course Kokichi came up with a few adjustments, but it was mostly me." I admitted with a small childish smile. "Why are you doing this?" Keebo asked. "Oh I thought we could throw a little screening party with our videos." Kokichi answered for me. "With all of you here exchanging our videos wouldn't be a problem at all...And I wanted to see your videos too. So I thought we could all binge watch them together. I had (Y/N) cook up a plan for me and after a few adjustments it was go time." He said. "D-do you know what will happen if you do that?" Keebo asked. Typically I would tune out of this conversation but this time I actually found it interesting. "Ummm, everyone would have a motive and killing would be more likely to happen." Kokichi said. "But I like to play on mean difficulty, and I don't run from battles in RPGs either." He said. I laughed slightly. "I wanna win this killing game! So I'm not gonna run from it, I'm gonna burn it to the ground!" He said referencing what I said earlier this morning. "That'll be waaaaay less boring don'tcha think?" He questioned, smile ever present. I laughed at his childishness. It was adorable in my opinion. "What the hell does that mean!?" Shuichi yelled making me laugh even more. After that I started to tune everyone out until Gonta came back with Himiko and Angie. After that I tuned out again until Kokichi dragged me off to go and get the motive videos. "Why are you taking her!?" Tenko screeched. "Hmm? I need some one to get into the girls dorms. I'm evil not a perv." He said dragging me out the door. We went to my dorm first to get a backpack to carry the motive videos in and to grab my video I kept that in a special pocket in my backpack. Once we visited the other dorms we ran into Kirumi. After running around avoiding Kirumi for a while we eventually made it back to Gonta's lab. "Did we lose her?" Kokichi asked in between pants. "Yeah I think we did." I said not out of breath at all. His heart rate was pretty rapid. I sighed and placed a finger on his neck causing his heart rate and breathing to slow down back to normal. "Better?" I asked. "How did you do that?" He asked. "Practice." I responded. "Shall we go in?" I inquired. "We shall." He said with a wide smile. 

Once we walked inside bugs were everywhere. "Ugggh there are bugs everywhere. How nast-" I covered his mouth with my hand. "How nice. He meant how nice." I said. "Oh you two come back! Come, we have fun!" Gonta said obviously having the time of his life. One thing led to another and now I'm fighting Tenko over the bag with the motives in them. "Come on lets go just forget it!" Shuichi shouted bolting out the door. Tenko followed. Door was closing and bugs were descending on Kokichi. I rushed over and grabbed him. I sent out a wave of heat to get the bugs away from us and then dove out the door just as it slammed shut. My back slammed into the wall but I softened the blow for the purple haired teen who was now shivering in fear. "You cut it way to close!" He snapped. "Hey you didn't get stung or anything right? No? Then you're fine!" I snapped back. He flinched a little then scoffed. He turned his head away with a pout. "Geez it was just a joke, lighten up a little." He said. I sighed. "Fine. Sorry I snapped at you." I said. "That was a joke to you know." He said with a smirk. I smiled. "Then maybe I was just joking about being sorry." I said. "Hey that's my tactic no fair." He pouted. I laughed. Everyone else was just looking at us in confusion. I stood up but sat back down quickly with a hiss of pain. Welp there goes my back. I thought. He stood up and dusted himself off. "What? Hit the wall to hard?" He asked in a joking tone. "Yes." I deadpanned. He turned to look at me and try and help me up. "Oh, ouch. That's probably going to leave a mark." I said. "Dang it. Guess that means no tag then huh?" He questioned. I smirked. "You underestimate me. I'll be fine in a minute or two." I said. "Nope, not happening." He said starting to lecture me about resting when I'm hurt. In that time I quickly healed myself. What? I'm a magic warrior it doesn't take me that long to heal. I jumped over his head and landed gracefully. "I told you I'm fine." I said with a smirk. "Eh? Oh fine." He said with a sigh. I booped his nose. "Tag." I said darting off into the hallway. "GET BACK HERE!" He shouted chasing after me. 

~Shuichi's POV~     

After they left we found (Y/N)'s bag on the ground. It had all the motive videos in them. Monodam came and took care of them for us. After that we all just went to bed. Of course I noticed Kokichi and (Y/N) casing eachother around in the moonlight on my way back. They were smiling and laughing. I never thought I'd see them like that. After all they seem so different at times. When Kokichi is serious (Y/N) always seems to be in a more joking mood. When she's serious Kokichi is just being Kokichi. Somethings that (Y/N) said to me a while ago in the AV room struck me as odd. "We have a surprising number of things in common.", "I find him easy to talk too.", and "You just haven't seen his serious side yet."  All of these things just don't fit right. But seeing them run around in the moonlight playing tag of all things helped me see them in a new light. I smiled and went back to my dorm.
