Chapter 21: The Plan
After me and Kokichi pretended to be the masterminds and kidnapped Kaito we went to the Exisal hanger and rested for a little while, outside of the bathroom where we were keeping Kaito trapped. Kokichi looked pretty wiped out but that was to be expected. Lying so much, putting up acts, faking his personality, it takes a great deal of mental energy for him. For the next few days I would go out, get food, bring it back, check to make sure the Exisals were still watching Monokuma, and doing a few more tasks. Me and Kokichi made plans, back up plans, different routes, every possible scenario we thought of we accounted for. For the next few days I even did morning and nighttime announcements since Monokuma couldn't do them. I only found the room Monokuma was in by questioning him relentlessly and it took a lot of effort to get into the room but I had fun doing it. Or at least that's what I told myself. I thought this would be routine for a little while, going to get food, make sure Monokuma didn't try anything, and so on so forth. Until that night. Kokichi looked up suddenly with a sharp look in his eyes. As if he knew what was about to go down. "(Y/N). I need you to fetch emergency plans numbers five, six, and twenty three. Don't forget the scripts as well." He said. "Hmm. Why?" I questioned. "Call it a sense of foreboding." Kokichi responded. I sighed slightly, knowing to trust his foresight. But I was also worried. Worried because those plans and scrips were very specifically detailed, and planned out his own death. We came up with most of them after I had knowledge of the Exisal hanger and told that to Kokichi. Knowing about everything in here as well as the stocks in the warehouse. "Do I need to get the camera for plan twenty three?" I questioned. Plan twenty three was the one I liked the least. But all of the plans were very detailed and the end result would be the end of the killing game. I don't know why Kokichi was asking me to get the plans and tools for them. It worried me a lot. Especially since Kokichi was right about most of his bad feelings. He just nodded in response to my question. I sighed slightly heading into the bathroom. Kaito was just sitting there looking bored. He gave me a confused look as I poofed into cat form and made a large jump to the window. I missed it a few times. "D*mnit why is my cat form so d*mn small!" I hissed. "Umm...Need some help?" Kaito questioned. "Please." I said. He picked me up and lifted me to the window. "Thanks Kaito." I said jumping out of the window. "Your welcome?" He said in a questioning tone. Probably wondering why he just helped me. In cat form a made a mad dash through the weird area. I passed Himiko carrying a black case, she didn't notice me but I sure as hell noticed her. But I had a job to do. I passed Maki making her way to the weird area herself, holding a crossbow that smelt like poison and an Electrohammer. We both stopped for a minute giving eachother weird looks. I remembered that I had things to do and darted off, confusing her. I reached my room, which is where we hid the plans. We decided to hide them in here so that it wouldn't leave evidence behind at the Exisal hanger. I switched to human form and got out the box from under the bed. Opening the lid I started looking around the box, shifting around the papers looking for the three plans I had been assigned to retrieve. It took a while but I found the three I needed. Pushing that back under the bed I quickly stuffed the plans inside a duffel bag and looked for the three scrips for each plan. Those were hidden all over the room. Once again took me a minute to find them. I then had to retrieve the stuff from the warehouse but suddenly felt a sharp pain in my arm while I was getting the camera. I clutched it tightly feeling like I just got stabbed or hit with an arrow. I rolled up my sleeve, nothing. Kokichi... My thoughts grew worried. I got all the items and started sprinting back when I felt like I got hit in the back by something. I took a knee real quick, my breathing heavy. S*IT THAT HURTS! I thought with anger. I got up and started running again. I threw the stuff in the bathroom window, smelling blood as well as other people's scent around the window. I got in cat form and jumped through the small window quickly.
"What's going on!?" I shouted poofing into human form the moment I was through the window. "Nee-heehee...Good. I was wondering if you could take any longer." Kokichi said weakly. I noticed a puncture wound in his arm and an arrow sticking out of his back. Kaito also had a puncture wound in his arm. Both were bleeding. "S*IT!" I cursed loudly checking Kokichi's arm and the arrow in his back. "Ah s*it! That's deep." I said observing the arrow. "F*cking s*it." I cursed stumbling back. "Literally the one time I'm gone you get hurt. I suck and being a Servamp." I said. "(Y/N) calm down. I need plan twenty three. I was reeeeally hoping it wouldn't come to this." Kokichi said. "P-plan twenty three?" I questioned. That's when I smelt it, the poison in his bloodstream. I was silent while handing him the plan and the script for it. "Now then Kaito. We need your help with a plan." Kokichi said turning to Kaito. "Plan? What plan?" Kaito asked with fury. "W-we've been thinking...this whole time...of a plan that would throw the masterminds off guard." Kokichi said, his voice getting weaker. "Throw them off guard? What are you talking about!? You two are the masterminds!" Kaito stated firmly. "Oh umm..." Kokichi trailed off. "W-we were just lying. We only pretended to be the masterminds." I answered for him, still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation. "Pretended!?" Kaito shouted. "You all fell for it...But y'know I had prepared a bunch of stuff..." Kokichi said. He held out the master control. "Like that controller. He had Miu make it for him along with the Electrohammers and Electrobombs." I explained. "He also had me do a few tasks for him, and while I was doing those I had someone else do a few tasks for me. All of it was a part of this plan, of our master plan." I said. "The writing in the courtyard, using Gonta as a murderer." Kokichi added. "My mysterious behavior, my foresight, the fact that I always got everything right, my cockiness, my refusal get along with everyone, all of that..." I trailed off. "Was to make you guys think that we were the masterminds." We said in unison. "W-what the hell! Why'd you do all that!?" Kaito shouted. "The reason why....we pretended to be the masterminds...." Kokichi trailed off. "Was to end this boring killing game!" He declared firmly. "Not only boring but just outright cruel." I added. "To end it?" Kaito questioned. "I thought that if me and (Y/N) showed you the despairing truth that you all wouldn't want to go outside anymore." Kokichi explained. "We thought it would end the killing game." I said. "But instead...This happened. I'm going to die by Maki's hands." Kokichi said. "So this is Maki's doing." I hissed. "Why do you think this happened? Why do you think Maki tried to kill me?" Kokichi questioned. "Why do you think the killing game started up again?" I asked quietly. "Why?" Kaito questioned. "Because the true masterminds instigated it. I'm certain of it." Kokichi said. "They made a move....Without either of us noticing....And thanks to that everything is ruined." I growled. "The true masterminds instigated it?" Kaito questioned. "So whoever those people are, they also instigated Maki's actions?" He asked. "Yeah...They probably tried to eliminate me so that me and (Y/N) would both be taken out of the picture....Since we pretended to be the masterminds and....(Y/N) is such a huge wild card and question mark to them." Kokichi explained. "How would taking you out of the picture take (Y/N) out too?" Kaito asked. "They know d*mn well that I care about Kokichi a lot. He's the only Eve I give two s*its about. If he's killed then I wouldn't be able to function properly anymore. I would slip into complete and utter despair. Though if he's killed that only increases my chances of survival ten fold. You remember that one way to kill a Servamp that I mentioned?" I questioned. Kaito nodded. "Well normally a Servamp would always be on guard so you'd never be able to get to their weak point, that's why you need to target the bond between Servamp and Eve." I explained. I fiddled with my scarf a little. "The way to kill a Servamp is a simple two step process. Destroy or break the item an Eve gave their Servamp, and then decapitate the vampire." I said. "And if Kokichi is gone, that means our bond would be severed. No item to break, no way to stop the Servamp from moving. If I'm able to move there's no chance that I would let someone anywhere near my neck. No chances for them to decapitate me." I growled. "So that's why that scarf is so important to you..." Kaito said trailing off. "When a Servamp has an Eve it only makes them weaker...But it adds excitement in their immortal lives." Kokichi said. "But wait...." Kaito trailed off. "If it's not you two then who are the true masterminds? And are there really more than one of them?" Kaito asked.
Me and Kokichi exchanged a look. "W-we can't tell you that." Kokichi said. "Huh? Why not?" Kaito asked. I gave Kaito a look. "Mostly because it's only theory right now." I lied. "But we've confirmed there are a total of three masterminds. But don't tell that to anyone yet." I added. "I can't except that." Kaito growled. "I-it doesn't m-matter right now...We can't lose....This game is pointless...Unless you win." Kokichi said. "That's why....Me and (Y/N) thought up a special plan." He said. "Only to be used in a dire situation when we're on the verge of losing." I added. "The plan to help me win!" Kokichi declared with one of his evil faces. "I don't really get it but...The plan to throw off the masterminds right?" Kaito questioned. "Well, it's not that difficult." Kokichi said. "Kaito....You have to...Kill Kokichi." I said reluctantly. "Wha-!?" Kaito cut himself off. "The plan is to make it so not only is the murderer unknown, but the true goal is to make the victim unidentifiable." I said. "Plan twenty three....An absolute last resort." I added. "The plan to make me the victim but make Monokuma and the masterminds think that the culprit was the victim. That way they'd screw up." Kokichi explained. "If Monokuma rules that either Kokichi himself, or the third party that caused this is the blackened then the true culprit would show themselves. Therefor making Monokuma's ruling invalid." I explained. "Because if Monokuma's ruling was invalid, the killing game would end." Kokichi said. "Why would Monokuma care if he messed up who the blackened was?" Kaito questioned. "Even if it's Monokuma or the true masterminds for that matter they can't break the rules how the please." Kokichi said. "Seriously. Don't you think if they could they would have banned me from the killing game or something?" I questioned. "Being unfair like that...Isn't allowed." Kokichi said. "What do you mean?" Kaito asked. "Death games are meant to be watched." I said simply. "If no one is watching, there would be no reason to be such a stickler for the rules...." Kokichi explained. "There would be no point into having this game in the first place." I added. "But Monokuma's been such a stickler about the rules. And he's dead set on making the game interesting." Kokichi said. "Although I find it quiet boring since I've actually watched on the sidelines when a war was going on." I said mostly to myself. "Which means that Monokuma is aware that someone is watching us." Kokichi continued, ignoring my statement. "In which case...I have no doubts that this killing game is being shown to someone." I said. Kokichi nodded. "Took the words right out of my mouth." He said. Kaito looked deep in thought. He then shook his head violently. "Y-yeah...But killing you!?" Kaito questioned. He looked at me. "You can't be okay with this!" He shouted. I looked away rubbing my arm a little. "Trust me I'm not. But I can't go against my Eve's orders or wishes. I can't do anything here." I said. "What are you talking about!? You want me to kill you!?" Kaito shouted looking at Kokichi. "I figured you'd react like that..." Kokichi said. "But...are you really okay with that?" He asked. "If you don't do it I'll die from Maki's poisoned arrow. And if (Y/N) does it she'll die because she was directly responsible for her contractor's death." He explained. (I added that rule I don't think it's an actual thing.)
"Wha-!?" Kaito shouted. "D*mnit that's playing dirty...That's why you gave me the antidote." Kaito growled. "Nee-heehee. I am the Ultimate Supreme Leader. There's no levels I won't sink too." Kokichi said with one of his evil faces. He got that from Karma and Shadow. The two taught him how to use underhanded tactics in both mental and psychical combat. I thought sadly. "He's telling the truth. Even if the cost is self sacrifice." I said sadly. "..." Kaito didn't say anything but looked like he was sick to his stomach. "Anyway...This is our chance...To end the killing game..." Kokichi said. "That's why...You have to kill me...And ruin this killing game." Kokichi declared firmly. "We'll bring the true masterminds, and everyone watching..." I trailed off. We both made our worst and creepiest faces to get our point across. "We'll drag them down into complete and utter despair!" We both declared in unison. Make them feel...everything that I felt. I thought bitterly. "That way everyone who died can rest in peace! Ah-hahahahahahaha!" Kokichi laughed evilly. He then flinched back, going back to normal. "..Ack! Aw crap! I'm gonna die soon...Can we get this started already?" Kokichi questioned, starting to look really sick. "You're both seriously crazy y'know?" Kaito questioned. I laughed slightly while making sure Kokichi was okay for a time. "Well I am the Servamp of Insanity. And he's my Eve. The current Eve of Insanity. Fitting, no?" I questioned. "But at least I...Wasn't boring right?" Kokichi questioned. I smiled slightly. "Of course not." I said. Kokichi looked like he was in pain. "I-it's getting harder to breath. So can we hurry this along?" Kokichi questioned. "Hey can I ask you two one thing? You want to ruin this killing game but..." Kaito trailed off. "We both kept saying how fun the game is right?" I questioned, shocking him. "It was a lie obviously." I said. Kokichi started crying a little bit. "H-how could a game...That you're forced to play....B-be any fun?" Kokichi asked. "I had to think this game was fun to survive! I had to lie to myself!" He said. "You two little..." Kaito trailed off. "The b*stereds who created this game...The s*its enjoying it..." I trailed off. "They all p*ss us off!" Me and Kokichi shouted in unison. "Th-that's why I'm so determined to end this killing game. To do whatever it takes!" Kokichi said. He looked away for a minute. "For them...For all of them." He mumbled. After that we set the plan in motion. And everything was set. I helped Kokichi stand since he was having trouble while he did the recording. Once he switched places with Kaito... I-I can't just let this happen! I thought angrily.
~Kokichi's POV~
As the press was coming down it took a lot of self control to not try and get out. My claustrophobia kicking in slightly. My entire life flashed before my eyes. D.I.C.E, the killing game, (Y/N). My thoughts lingered on her. I felt really sick. D*mn that poison. Just when I was sure I was dead I felt myself being pulled out last second. My vision was hazy so I was having trouble making sense of what was going on. But I saw blood leaking out of the press, but myself being carried away from it. I was rested on the ground of a storage closet and (Y/N) was looking at me with concerned eyes. "(Y/N)...?" I was confused. What is she doing! This could ruin the entire plan! I felt better momentarily. "I'm not just going to let you die like that without at least offering." She growled. That's when I knew what was going on. She wanted to offer to turn me into a Subclass. To save my life at the price of becoming immortal. She never really went over this subject with me, not even when I asked about it once it was revealed that it was a power she had. She quickly went over the pros and cons, then waited for my decision. I was struggling with my choice. I did want to live. And this would for sure make things more confusing as well as being an easy way to break the killing game. But this did seem a little extreme. Was my life really worth all that much to her? How far did she plan ahead? Would it even matter? Does (Y/N) have some kind of plan? There were a lot of positives. And a whole lot of uncertainty. What would happen after this was unknown to me, even with my foresight. I took a shaky deep breath and sighed slightly. "_______." I said simply. She nodded tears forming in the corners of her eyes as she gave me a kind smile. "Just remember that's your choice. Not mine." She said.
CLIFFHANGER DUN DUN DA!!!!! Trust me I'm mad at myself for that cliffhanger. Like holy s*it I've seen some bad cliffhangers that happen at the worst times and this is one of them. Sorry for the somewhat short chapter. Also don't hate me for leaving you hanging like that. Don't forget to soar high and roar and as always may the stars light your path my dragon army! Bu bye~
