Chapter 11: I Hate Cults

I woke up and got to work on my morning routine. Before the morning announcement even played I was already on my way to the dining hall. But of course despite waking up early and making my way here early I still am the last one to arrive. And everyone's fighting. Ugh, why do I have to be involved in this s*it. It was Kaito and Angie. I can't believe I'm about to do what I'm about to do. "You know for once I agree with Kaito. And trust me that won't happen again anytime soon." I growled standing next to the purple haired male. "Now looky here and listen. I refuse to believe your Atua s*it, and you need to stop taking over the f*cking school! I'm not sure how you brainwashed this many people without me paying attention but Satan d*mn it I don't approve in the slightest." I growled. "Nyahahaha~ I don't need your approval because I have Atua's blessing!" Angie said. "I'm older than your Atua has even been alive! Because news flash sweetheart. Gods don't exist! Atua is just something you came up with so you could manipulate the people around you. And people that fall for this s*it are as stupid as s*it! Because no one with half a brain would fall for these lies that your forcing down our throats!" I shouted raising my voice, anger clear as day. "You are just jealous because you can not hear Atua's voice." Angie stated. "No I'm grateful. Geez and people think that I'm the embodiment of insanity. Even I don't hear voices in my head. Geez someone get the rope I have a feeling Angie over here is going to snap and become the next blackened." I said with a smirk. "Nyahahaha~ You might want to quit challenging me. Lest Atua pour his divine rage down upon you." Angie said this creepy look in her eyes. I responded with the creepiest look and smile I could muster even letting my eyes slit a little. "Oh? In that case let him. HEY ATUA I'M CHALLENGING YOU! STRIKE ME DOWN IF YOU'RE REAL!" I said spreading my arms and tilting my head to the sky. I continued smirking as silence drew on. "You see? Nothing. I'm sure if Gods did exist then he would have struck me down." I said returning to my normal stance all the while glaring at Angie. "Atua isn't real. Grow up...b*tch." I hissed. With that I stormed out of the dining hall. I really hate cults alright.

A few minutes to an hour later Kokichi walked out carrying a bag. He found me waiting for him outside the dining hall. "Nee-heehee. Thanks for waiting." He said cheerfully. I smiled at him and ruffled his hair as we walked down the hall. He handed me some of the food he had in the bag. "So what were they fighting about before I intervened?" I questioned. "Something about Gonta and the rest of them blocking the manhole cover." He said dismissively. "I pretty sure she's trying to brainwash everyone else too. But I'm not going to fall for that! Nee-heehee, only the weak minded would fall for it!" He said. "Weak minded, simple minded, those easy to manipulate, those without strong resolve, and of course the weak willed. Anyone that falls under any of these categories with most likely fall victim to the Cult of Atua. So it makes me wonder how she brainwashed the robot and not Kaito." I said. "Nee-heehee. Good eye as always. It really doesn't make sense." He said. "Hmm, maybe it was something to do with Kaito disliking the occult." I said pulling out my Monopad. I showed Kaito's profile to him. "Hmm, I see, I see. So space boy doesn't like spooky stuff." He said. I laughed slightly. "How does he stand being around me then. I'm a 'scary blood sucking vampire' that defies all logic." I said using air quotes and making him laugh. "Hey you don't act like a vampire half the time. You just hate going outside and whatnot." He said. I rolled my eyes but had a smile plastered on my face. "Oh another thing. We are apparently forbidden from walking around at nighttime now. Only the student council is allowed to walk around at night." Kokichi said rolling his eyes. I smirked. "Now I'm gonna walk around at night just to p*ss them off. Wanna join?" I asked. "...You know me so well." He said with a matching smirk. We both chuckled evilly. "So anything else I need to know about?" I questioned. "Hmmm, well Angie destroyed the latest flashback light, soooo that's something. Oh! And the one she's planing to revive is Rantaro." He said. "Hmm. So no flashback light. And Rantaro. Dang, I thought for sure she was going to revive Kaede to try and manipulate Shuichi." I said. He laughed. "I thought that too but nope! But now it's a basic all out war. Us vs. The Student Council. Of course we have you and Maki so bonus points." He said. "But I'm pretty sure Kaito won't be able to do anything since he's terrified of the whole, 'bringing the dead back to life' thing." He added. "So if Kaito can't do anything. It'll technically be six verses six." I said. He nodded. After that we sat down in the hall and ate the food that he had in the bag. After we finished and cleaned up a little Shuichi found us. And Kokichi somehow convinced us to have a tea party. We all sat in the dining hall and had a chat over tea.

"I like this kind of tea but I miss my Moon Flower tea." I grumbled. I said. "Moon Flower?" Shuichi questioned. "It was her favorite kind of tea. She let me have some of it once. It was great." Kokichi said lost in thought. "How so?" The detective questioned. "Moon Flower tea has calming properties and the flowers it's made from only bloom under the full moon. It has this silver color that relaxes the soul. Not only that but flower itself is actually connected to old legends about dragons." I said. "And you know all that from memory?" Shuichi asked in shock. I nodded with a smile. "I know a lot of stuff from memory. It helps to write it down sometimes but most stuff I can remember from memory alone." I said. "Yeah, piece of advice. Don't p*ss her off. She'll hold a grudge til the day you die and then some. She never forgets a face. It's honestly terrifying." Kokichi said shivering a little. I smiled sweetly. "I'm not that scary." I said. "That's a lie you are that scary and then some." The Ultimate Supreme Leader said. I rolled my eyes and sipped my tea. "So anyways. I wanted to know why you blew up at Angie a few hours ago." Shuichi said. I sighed. "I just really hate cults with a passion. And Angie has just always rubbed me the wrong way. Even since we first met." I said. "Oh and by the way Shu." I said remembering something. "What is it?" The detective questioned. I smirked and set my tea cup down. "If you're going to lie in a class trial try to not sweat or be too pushy. You need to lie casually. You did well in the last trial, so well in fact only me and Kokichi were able to tell. Well Kaito knew you were lying but hey, he helped you out in the end so it all worked out." I said. Kokichi chuckled evilly a little while Shuichi started sweating. "I h-have no idea what you're talking about." He said avoiding eye contact. I tsked a little. "The only real issue you'll have with lying is going to be eye contact. That's going to be a tough habit to break. Remember to stay calm." I instructed. Kokichi nodded. "Right. Also if you're going to lie try to not involve other people unless you know with absolute certainty that they will back you up." He added. Shuichi looked at us in confusion. "Why are you giving me pointers?" He asked. "Nee-heehee. Because it's fun to see the detective lie." Kokichi answered. I sighed. "Let me translate a little here. What he actually means is that we trust you'll lead us in the right direction. Even if you have to lie to do it. We know better than anyone how important it us to lie in some situations. It can save lives if you're intentions are pure." I explained. "The truth hurts sometimes. Trust me I know." Kokichi said with a sigh and a serious expression. He put his tea cup down. "Telling lies can spare innocence, feelings, and relationships. Just as long as you do it right. Lies can save people just as long as you wield them right. Before lying there are many things to account for. How risky the lie is, if people will back you up, and most importantly how convincing the lie is. If you make it sound too far fetched no one will believe you. If the lie is too risky to tell then it can easily be torn apart and reputation could go down as well. You need people to trust you so that they will back you up when you lie. Make sure to have strong relations with others. It can help you in the long run." He ranted. Shuichi looked at the smaller male in shock. Kokichi then realized his slip up. He went into serious mode for way to long. He plastered on a fake smile. "Well that's what I've heard anyways! Nee-heehee. But when you're already dubbed the compulsive liar everyone will just assume everything you say is a lie so it doesn't matter that much." He said brushing off his rant as a joke. After that he fled the scene saying he had stuff to do. More lies. I sighed before drinking some more tea then departing myself.

The nighttime announcement played and the student council returned to their rooms. I have no idea why though considering the fact that they were going to patrol. I was waiting by my door, hidden from the view of the student council before heading out. I stopped by Kokichi's door and knocked on it. The purple headed male responded soon after. That's when we noticed  Kaito, Maki, and Shuichi all met up. We approached them. "Before you ask. No, we aren't here for training." I said seeing the look on Kaito's face. "We're just out here to p*ss off the Student Council. And then maybe we would keep you company." Kokichi corrected. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. But I'm sorry I can't come tonight." Kaito said. He looked awful. And sick. I walked over and felt his forehead much to Maki's dislike judging by the way she flinched. "You don't feel sick. In fact you feel as cold as ice. You really should go back inside your dorm and rest." I said concern lacing my tone. Even if I don't like idiots that doesn't stop me from caring about their well being. "I would listen to her. She's actually real great when it comes to medical things." Kokichi commented. I scoffed. "You only say that because I treat you and the others whenever you all got hurt because you did something stupid." I said rolling my eyes. I backed away from Kaito and let him return to his room. Me and the others all went to the court yard for training. Once again me and Kokichi were just there to p*ss off the Student Council! Don't get the wrong idea!

We all stopped outside the building and just stared at eachother. "Are you really that good with medical stuff?" Shuichi questioned looking at me. "I'm not like a certified nurse or anything. I've just seen different sicknesses and poisons take the lives of many. I picked up a few tricks to help my Eve in anyway." I said honestly. "So you're a glorified maid." Maki said. I laughed not even offended. "Yeah, basically! Oh, and if that was meant to offend me try a little harder than that." I said with a smirk. Maki suddenly glared at me. Oh correction not at me behind me. My smirk grew wider. "Whoever's there come out. You've been stalking us for a while now don't think I don't know." I said not even turning around. "How did you...?" Tenko trailed off making herself known to the two males. I turned around. "Ah, Tenko good to see you. How'd you like that prank?" I questioned. She shot me a glare. Tenko was here to ask Maki a favor. I of course knew what that meant. "Nee-heehee. Seems Tenko over here wants little miss Assassin to kill someone for her." Kokichi said. "W-what!?" Shuichi said. "It was obvious." I said as Maki nodded her head. "No one asks an assassin for a favor unless it's to kill someone." Maki clarified. "But hey at least she isn't brainwashed." I said with a shrug. "I won't deny. I've wanted Angie gone even before all this. And I'm sure everyone's wanted at least one person to die once in their life. But actually going through with it is a whole other ordeal. Murder is a horrid act that no one should commit." Tenko stated. Me and Maki gave her blank stares. "You do realize who you're talking too right?" We both questioned in unison. "OH sorry! I didn't mean to offend either of you! But I don't want you to kill her. I want you to stop her. That's all. Please. I'm begging you." She said bowing to us. I grew nervous instantly and told her to stand up. I sighed seeing the determination in her eyes. "Look Tenko, you're doing this for Himiko right?" I questioned. "Not only that but because the ritual is to dangerous to try." She stated. I nodded. "I agree completely, and trust me I don't like Angie either. She's very stubborn. And I can't get her to change over night. But I can try to talk to her. Though I doubt after that fight she listen to anything I have to say. But I can still try. No promises though." I said. After I said that she launched at me and hugged me. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You're the best (Y/N)!" She said. I cringed slightly at the hug and pushed her off me gently with a nervous smile and laugh. "Okay, okay, I get it. Just please don't touch me." I said as kindly as possible. Kokichi just laughed at me before I shot him a look making him shut up. But he still had this smirk on his face. I love him but I hate him sometimes. I sighed.

After that Tenko led us to the Ultimate Artist's lab. Angie no doubt inside. Kokichi leaned over to me. "So do you smell any blood? Anything at all for that matter?" He asked. I shook my head. Nothing suspicious at all. Odd I could've sworn someone would have killed her by now. After a small argument between Maki, Tenko, and Shuichi Tenko knocked on the door and asked Angie to open up. The door flung open. "Tenko! To what do I owe the pleasure?" She questioned then noticed us. "Oh? Why is Maki, Shuichi, Kokichi, and (Y/N) here?" She asked. She then asked if we wanted to join the Student Council. Then invited us into her lab. What a foolish girl. If we were all plotting to kill her she'd be dead. Once we stepped inside we saw something unbelievable. I jumped up and poofed into cat mode out of pure shock before landing on Kokichi's shoulder. I wasn't the only one unnerved by this. Shuichi flinched. Maki didn't move at all just stared. And Kokichi was trembling lightly. I was also a little shaky. "It's okay, (Y/N)." He said stroking my head slightly. Doing that helped him calm down a little. "Whoa! Those are really life like!" He said returning everyone to their normal selves. I jumped off his shoulder and got back into human form. I coughed slightly and blushed in embarrassment. "S-sorry about that. They looked so real I thought all of them were in the room. Geez that scared the s*it out of me." I said with a small shaky sigh. After talking to her a little Angie said that the dead people might be alive. "No Angie that's wrong." I spoke before Shuichi said anything. Shu nodded. "She's right. The bodies were real. Seeing these effigies only proves it." He said. "The effigies are perfect in every single way. Down to hair, eyes, and body." I said taking a closer look at them. "But the bodies we saw still had traces of a soul." Shuichi said. I nodded with a sad look in my eye. "It was obvious that the bodies were alive once. But they weren't anymore. Shuichi, Maki, you know what I'm talking about right?" I questioned looking at them. They both nodded. "You can't fake a dead body." Maki said. "And I've seen plenty." She added grimly. I nodded my head in agreement. "I've seen multiple dead bodies. Not just those I've killed." I said looking back. "I've seen many die in war. I've seen many die from fighting, sickness, and so much more. You can not fake death. Because the body itself will still look like it was alive once." I said standing up straight. I looked Angie in the eye. "Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, and Kirumi all died. They aren't hidden somewhere. They're gone. And you can't bring them back. Even if you did you'd only be bringing back a vengeful spirit. One that would most likely kill you for disturbing their eternal rest. I employ you to reconsider going through with this. I may not like you or agree with you. But I made a promise to protect everyone I can. That includes you." I said firmly. She sighed. "Oh, (Y/N) if only you weren't so stubborn. You'd make the perfect Student Council Vice President." She said. "H-huh?" I questioned. "You are strong, smart, brave, and you stay true to your word despite anything. You've lived longer than any of us and have by far the most wisdom and knowledge. You also have leadership skills. In other words the perfect Vice President for the Student Council. If only you weren't so blind to the truth. Atua would welcome you with open arms." She stated. I shivered at those words. The others tried to convince her too until she pushed us all out of her lab. She then reveled Tenko's betrayal when Himiko turned the corner. After that Himiko left, Tenko was unhappy, and Angie closed the door. I continued shivering from Angie's words. "Maki." I said suddenly. "What?" She asked. "Can you slap me? Just right across the cheek please." I said. "What!?" Kokichi and Shuichi shouted. "Yeah alright." Maki said. She shot at me quickly and slapped me right across my right cheek. It stung a little but my shivering stopped. I smiled. "Thanks Maki. I needed that." I said laughing slightly. "What the...?" Shuichi trailed off. Kokichi questioned my reasoning too. "Alright, alright, calm down. I asked her to slap me so that I could come back to my senses. Angie really creeped me out and Maki brought me back to reality. Once again thanks for that." I said. Tenko walked up to me. "Thank you for trying (Y/N)." She said bowing to me. "Whoa! I said quit it with the bowing already!" I said. She stood up. "And don't assume that just because I failed once means I'm going to give up." I said sternly causing everyone to be confused. "I'll keep coming back here for as long as it takes until I can convince her. I'll just kidnap Student Council members and use them to get into Angie's lab. I know a few of them will be easy to manipulate and the rest I can just threaten to kill them." I said chuckling evilly and causing the others (except Maki and Kokichi) to flinch back a little.

"I'm going to keep trying. Because you still don't mess with life and death no matter how much it may seem possible or if it's a good idea or not." I stated. "Just because Angie is a creepy little psycho doesn't mean I'll just give up and let her die. I've dealt with people like her before, I'm the Servamp of Insanity after all." I said with determination. "I'll keep trying. And no matter how many times she tries to convince me to join the Student Council I won't do it. She can't brainwash a broken mind." I said while laughing a little crazily to prove my point. The others nodded a little with a few smiles. Maki pat my shoulder. "In that case I'll come with you. Just to slap you again if you need it." She said. I smiled at her. Tenko started crying and she hugged me again. "Th-thank you (Y/N). You really are the best." She said. I pushed her away gently and Maki had already removed her hand. "I'm not the best and I'm not perfect. I just need to do something in my free time. I get bored way to easily." I said rolling my eyes. "Don't take this the wrong way. I'm not doing it to help that b*tch or you for that matter. I'm only doing this so I can keep my promise of trying to protect everyone." I said sternly just to get the point across. They all smirked at me. "Suuuuuure you are. You aren't getting soft on me are you (Y/N)?" Kokichi questioned in a joking tone. "OF COURSE NOT! I JUST DON'T WANT ANYMORE BLOOD TO BE SPILLED DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THAT TEMPTS ME!" I shouted. No one caught on to the whole 'it tempting me' thing except for Kokichi. I blushed a little and stormed off. I ran into some of the Student Council on my way back but most were easy to trick by just saying 'I got lost' or 'sorry I was just a little restless so I went for a walk'. Of course when I ran into Tsumugi I just told her that I always walk around at night and that she could do nothing to stop me. I just returned to my room and slept.
