Chapter 7 - Book of the Void; Volume 2 - Noir
Here's the next chapter, enjoy!
At Stolas's manor library, Stella turned the page to the next part and read;
"Grimoires of Void - Volume 2"
"A book as mysterious as the first Volume. Volume 2 doesn't cast spells like Volume One. Instead, it carries the Arms of Void within its pages. Noir is able to store objects inside its pages. From guns and bombs to swords and shields, it has no limit to its capacity. In its pages now are the 14 Lost Weapons of the War between Heaven & Hell. The 7 Heavenly Virtuous Weapons and the 7 Deadly Sinfull Firearms. Weapons that were made by the forces of both Heaven and Hell but banished into the Void when the War between Heaven and Hell when the war had ended. "

Back with Linc and the nun, blades were clashing and sparks were flying. The two backed off each other.
Nun: I will give it to you hellspawn, you are good, but... How... How are you wielding that sword?!
In Linc's hands was a very angelic sword with a hilt and pommel of gold, a handle wrapped in blue silk, and a blade that practically shined with how well-sharpened and clean it was.
Nun: The Holy Sword of Humility. I divine relic that was long forgotten by the common folk. Lost to time. How can you even hold it?
The nun took a quick breath. Linc seemed to remain silent and motionless.
Nun: Calm yourself, Pegathy. Gather info calmly. (looks at Linc) He doesn't seem to be conscious, he could be fighting back on instinct. He doesn't react when nothing is happening.
Pegathy stuck her bayonets in the ground and began walking forward. Linc just stared off into space. Pegathy got right next to him and he did nothing. Then she reached for the handle of the sword, only for Linc to finally make a move and slash at her. She ducked and rolled back to her weapons.
Pegathy: As I thought, he's not going to attack if he senses no danger but stealing the holy weapon from him isn't going to work. Guess the old-fashioned way is my only option.
Pegathy took her blades and charged forward this time Linc took a defensive stance. Pegathy leaped into the air and threw two small bayonets from her sleeve, but Linc blocked them. Pegathy landed behind Linc and went for another stab at his back, only for Linc to spin around parry her attack. The two then continued the exchange of blows and blocks.
Pegathy: (thinking) My main problem with the old-fashioned way is the Holy Sword of Humility. Amplifies the wielder's powers, determination, and self-importance, and passes its history and knowledge of the swordsmanship from the past users to the current user. Making any who wields it into a master.
{BANG!!!}
Pegathy then went wide-eyed as she dodged a bullet by tilting her head. In Linc's other hand was a fancy yet strange-looking pistol.
Linc fired it several more times. Pegathy began blocking the bullets one after the other.
Pegathy: (thinking) Damn he sees me as a danger now. The same trick won't work twice. Other than that... That book... It had more weapons inside it!? I don't recognize this one. It doesn't look Holy, but it's defiantly not Earth Made. Not with the fact he isn't reloading or running out of ammo.
Then a bullet hit Pegathy's leg, although it was blocked by a barrier of light formed around her clothing, it left a crack. Then the pistol's engravings seemed to begin glowing. Pegathy blocked the next shot but it felt different. It hit harder and Pegathy was reeling from the shock. Pegathy stopped blocking and went to hide around the corner.
Pegathy: That pistol got stronger when it hit my holy barrier. The bullets started to hit harder.
As Pegathy peered around the corner another bullet hit her barrier. The bullets started to chip away at the corner and some even punched straight through and hit her. Resulting in harder bullets that began to hit and the faster they started to come.
Pegathy: There's no mistaking it. That's the Devil's Pistol of Pride. The more it hits the more powerful the shoots become. Not to mention it steals pistol ammo from its surroundings.
Loona: How about a shotgun round?
Pegathy: Well no, it wouldn't steal-
Pegathy looked to see Loona aiming a sawed-off shotgun at her.
Loona: Did you really think people wouldn't hear those gunshots?
As soon as Loona pulled the trigger, Pegathy tried to defend herself.
{BOOM!!!}
But even after cutting a few pellets, some still got her and hit her barrier. The force of the shot forced her out of hiding and Lincoln rained gunfire down on her. The shots had gotten too fast for her to deflect and too strong for her to block. Pegathy's garb was now tattered and torn, the barrier was cracked and open in several areas, and she was bleeding from her right arm, left leg, and head.
Pegathy: Damn... I guess I've lost this battle... Too many unknowns... Escape is the only option.
Loona: Like we'd let you! Linc! Put another bullet between her eyes! (Linc does nothing) Linc?
Pegathy: He's in an unconscious state. He won't attack anything that isn't a threat and I no longer count as a threat.
Pegathy then pulled out a bible.
Loona: Then I'll do it, bitch-
Loona was cut off by a sheet of paper hitting her face. Pages were flying all around Pegathy as soon as she opened the bible. She vanished in the pages and the pages fell to the ground.
Loona: Dammit!! Come on Linc! We need to get back to Hell.
Loona whistled and Octavia walked out, Linc just silently put his weapons away and followed.
Loona: .... Via... I'm gonna have to take him home immediately.
One look at Linc's state was enough for Octavia. Loona took out Stolas' grimoire and opened a portal. It led straight to Stolas' manor.
Octavia: (steps through) It was fun while it lasted. Hope we can try this again without getting attacked.
Loona: I'll take you somewhere that we won't next time.
Loona closed the portal and opened a new one, this time, Blitzo, Moxxie, and Millie were standing there.
Blitzo: Loona! Where have you been?! (sniffs the air) Have you been in the human world?!
Loona: Yeah-
Millie: Dammit!
Moxxie: Pay up Millie.
Millie reluctantly handed Moxxie a $50 bill.
Blitzo: You two knew?!
Moxxie: I knew, Millie was being optimistic about Loona.
Millie: You can see how well that turned out.
Loona: Forget about that! Something is wrong with Linc!
Loona pulled Linc through, he still had a vacant look in his eyes.
Millie: Oh, did he space out again?
Loona: Yeah, some- Again?
Moxxie: Yeah, while he was growing up with us, he was occasionally stopped and just stare off into space.
Millie: Had me worried sick.
Loona: So do you know how to fix it?
Millie walked forward and pulled Linc down to her eye level. She then slapped him twice, causing him to shake his head.
Linc: Who- What- When- Where- Why?!
Millie: You spaced out again dear.
Linc: Dang it... What did I miss?
Loona told all she knew, about how a nun had forced Linc out of his disguise and attacked him. That he had somehow called a New Grimoire to aid him and that. That was all a guess as she only got there when Linc had begun shooting at the nun. None of them knew that he died and came back.
Blitzo: Ha! So a bitch picked a fight and lost, what's the problem? Not like there are more crazy Catholics like her! If we run into her, we'll just blow her brains out. And by that, I mean Linc will blow her brains out.
Linc: Why me...
Blitzo: Cause your the one who had her on the ropes.
Linc: Dangit...
Then Linc realized something; Void wasn't here.
Linc: Where's Void?
Loona: Yeah, he was left here cause he couldn't go through the portal.
Blitzo: Well, for some reason he threw a tantrum.
Linc: How big of a tantrum?
Suddenly, the building shook.
Blitzo: Big enough to level half of Imp City into powder. It was quite fun to watch.
Linc could hear Void's roars as the building shook again. Linc quickly ran out the door to stop his first Grimoire with his second close behind him.
Linc: VOID!! QUIT IT!!!

Back on Earth, Pegaathy was limping through a church building. Keeping herself upright. When two figures approached her.
???: It's rare to see you so beat up. Were the demons strong? Third Maiden Pegathy?
Pegathy weakly looked up at the two figures.
One was a very lean young woman with blond hair and red eyes. She, of course, wore a nun's outfit. She had a large rifle with her.
Pegathy: (thinking) Fourth Maiden Agness...
The second figure was a woman, but all of her figures were hidden or obscured by her armored nun's outfit. The outfit consisted of red silk cloth, grey metal plates, and white cotton fabric. She wielded a form of Kunai-rope dart. Made of a heavy-looking metal blade and a long chain.
Pegathy: (thinking) Second Maiden Raechell...
Pegathy could force the energy to speak, so she simply nodded.
Agness: This means I probably won't be able to fight them. How about it Raechell? Think you can take the person who did this?
Raechell silently nodded, Pegathy then placed a hand on her shoulder. Finally having regained some strength.
Pegathy: Do not take... the hound of pure white... Lightly...
Pegathy lost consciousness and Raechell caught her.
Agness: Hound of pure white? Does she mean a Hellhound?
Raechell: (dry voice) ... If that is what she meant she would have said Hellhound.
Agness: Woah...! You *can* speak... (thinking) You sound like you eating salted crackers in the desert...
Raechell: This hound may not be from Hell, but it's also not from Heaven. I will simply have to find out. First I must gather information...
Raechell handed Pegathy over to Agness and walked away.
To be continued...
That's all for this chapter, while a bit short. I hope you enjoyed it. Bye for now.
